gaming minecraft questions

So I want to download a mod for minecraft and I have one In particular in mind. So since I need 7zip to extract the files and I already have it on my window 8 computer does anyone think something bad will happen if I put minecraft, the mod and minecraft forge onto my windows 8 and put the mod into minecraft, then transfer back to my old computer. Anything bad? Because I'd really not something bad happen.

Why don't you just put the mod on the old computer? you can dowload 7zip: http://www.7-zip.org/, and I'm pretty sure that mods don't transfer over to a new computer if you apply it onto Minecraft. I wouldn't really know since I don't play, but still.
