My theory on bronies

Well, if you undoubtedly believe in Jesus' teachings, I think it's pretty straightforward from here. :)

There's a difference between believing and knowing. Yes, I believe in Jesus' teachings, and that He was the perfect Son of God, and that every word of Scripture is breathed by God and good for teaching. But I choose to believe that, and so choosing requires a measure of blind faith. So long as I live on Earth, there will never come a time when I know it to be true, to the point where it doesn't take any blind faith at all. That doesn't make me less firm in my beliefs; it's merely a statement of logical fact. Until I have absolute knowledge of absolutely everything, I can't truly know anything.

I guess that's getting a tad philosophical. I do that sometimes. :D

You're actually right about this. Took me a while to think of my argument actually.

So let's assume we cannot know what good is.

But you can't deny MLP promotes stuff that is buried deep down inside everybody, however you call it. And if you open your heart to that part of yourself, which exists in everybody, you'll like the show.

Perhaps. I'm still not sure I quite agree with you, but at this point, I think our argument is just gonna go around in circles.  :derp:

Actually we agree on 90% of stuff, but it's always interesting to hear an eloquent argument. :)

Thats right, when I show MLP to my friends, they don´t even want to watch it because, they do not do it with they hearts, they watch it with their minds, which are constantly saying "You can´t watch that crap, it is for little babies" Not because its for little babies, that you cant watch it. Look at me now, I used to think the same, but I gave it try, and I watched it with my heart and I loved it, and now Im a pegasister and Im proud of it. People should learn to watch it with and open heart and mind. And If after that, they still disliked, then no problem, Im not here to fight with them.

You know what, I don't watch it for all this love and tolerance rubbish. I watch it because I like cartoons. I think people in this fandom take things far too seriously, always trying to find hidden messages. Why can't you just sit back, zone out and enjoy the show!

"The only people who don't like MLP are the ones that haven't watched it with their hearts open." This also applies vice-versa, bronies are people who watched MLP with their hearts open.

Um, this isn't true at all. I've tried to get my friends to watch it, and it just wasn't something they were interested in. It doesn't mean their hearts weren't open, it just means that a cartoon show about technicolor horses who sing and learn lessons wasn't what they were into. It's completely understandable. Many have outgrown cute cartoons and such- whether it teaches friendship or harmony. My friends have open hearts, I am happy to say. They are tolerate and very peaceful people- and there's many people who fit this. It's good at we've overcome gender stereotypes and all, but some people just don't find the show interesting. It isn't because they're terrible, horrible people.

Vice-versa, I've met very cold-hearted bronies who are homophobic and very misogynistic. They claim to preach love and tolerate, but call people terrible, offensive names and applaud things such as rape and murder. I've met bronies who tell people to kill themselves, and are the rudest people ever. But of course, because they watch the show, that means they have open hearts?

Once we overcome those society-proposed gender "standards" (which are quite ridiculous, considering how vastly they changed throughout the history), we are ready to embrace and rediscover the true happiness in us. If we open our hearts of course, because in dark times like these, it's common to be cold-blooded, close-hearted and immune to good feelings. But we all have that sparkle inside of us. If we just allow that sparkle to grow, we will find inner happiness.

You're making the show sound like a cult. It's a cartoon, not a religion. Although this show touches our hearts, it isn't something that's going to cause world peace. The show is beautiful- it teaches amazing lessons on friendship and shows you how to become a better person, but I think you're looking way too into it.

@,@,  ok, I admit it, I screwed up at that "vice-versa" part.

@Pinkie Perry , who said that I don't like this show because it's fun, has great humor, animation, voice acting etc.?
Those are just additional details that make the show even better! :)

Cult is a really strong word. I wouldn't call it that way. As @ said, this show presents some ideologies that have been pondered by various ideologies. And@ and I also agreed that the show promotes some of Jesus' teachings. Is a cartoon not allowed to do that?

And to make it clear, I also LOVE the story line, the characters, the humor etc. just as any brony out there. I just find it amazing how a cartoon successfully promotes such basic good values in life. :)
