I can help. I've got 15 years of music experience up my sleeve. PM me, and we'll get started right away.

I mainly need help with lyrics. And how can I record. Can I download software or something? I really would like to contribute to the art. But I cant draw or write a good story to save my life lol.

@@Spark Flight,

Audacity is one of the most simplest softwares to use. It has recording capabilities.

@@Spark Flight,

Yeah. The great thing about audacity is, you can overdub, which I why I personally choose audacity.

So I can lay a guitar track, then my bas n drum tracks then overlap em? Kinda like a boomerang guitar board? Thats sweet. Now if I could find a lyricist. Of course, they would get lyrical credit all the way.

if you are going to record get Protools, a cheap interface and a SM57 microphone. Thats about $300 AUS if you crack Protools and for hobby wise you wont need anything else :)

I would get a mixer. You can run cords from your guitar & bass into the mixer & then into your computer so it's all digital. It will be higher quality. As for the drums, an SM57 like Rainbow-Crash mentioned works wonders.

though a mixer could work, if you want to stay with an easy budget i would strongly suggest a scarlet 2i2 by focusrite. if you get Protools like i said (crack that shiz) you wont have a need for a mixer. (though you could get a mixer if you really wanted to) with a ok interface such as the scarlet you can record anything XLR and line in. they have quality pre-amps and the SM57 works fine on everything. Shady Bubbles knows. Tis why i quoted him/her. But dont always record direct into you interface or computer, mic up you amp or acoustic if you want. you cant replace a nicely recorded guitar (listen to Andy McKee) And try to listen to styles of music you like in wav. or flac files so you can really hear what the recording sounds like. mp3 will fuck your ears sideways. (if you have a record player listen to that). if you want tips on recording in regards to mic placement, gain structure and any other recording matters i would love to help out :) I study audio production and if i can help i will! :)

PS. sorry if that sounded a little like a rant.

hope you do well :P
