Manman20x6 359 March 20, 2014 #1 Share March 20, 2014 I love reading TV Tropes and most of the trope names are familiar to me, but seeing phrases such as "Fridge logic" and "Woobie" being used on another site feels strange. I also imagine that people unfamiliar with TV Tropes may find that confusing. Sorry, just ranting. I SHIP FLUTTERSHY X BULK BICEPS SO HARD Also, I really like Cloudchaser's mane! Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 March 20, 2014 #2 Share March 20, 2014 Meh about half of my YouTube subscriptions use tv tropes terms left and right so I eventually get used to it. Also some of these are pretty easy to figure out what they mean when in context .
Misty Shadow 8,070 March 20, 2014 #3 Share March 20, 2014 Eh, I don't really like TV Tropes nowadays (sorry), but I find most of their terms easy to understand, no offense. I think that Captain Obvious and Department of Redundancy Department are examples of ones that speak for themselves, and when I do come across a term I don't get (like Narm), I just look at the definition on the term's page. Everyone loves Misty. For good reason, of course. :
Evilshy 5,091 March 20, 2014 #4 Share March 20, 2014 (edited) Yeah, I think it's a bit weird when people use some of the more obscure ones. A lot of the things on the site have more common names anyway, such as "Infinity+1 Sword" usually just being called "the ultimate weapon". I do, however, love TVTropes for the clear and mostly in-depth explanations of common terms, such as the articles on the D&D player archetypes.
