open Just a usual day at the Bakery

[Berry Cupcake 8]

Berry Cupcake just opened her new bakery, cupcake specialized, in Ponyville. The ponies don't know her yet but she has met the Cakes who supported her and offered help if needed.

It is 8 am and the bakery is starting its third day.

 

No extreme violence or blood please. Just a slice of life/comedy/random RP here (craziness accepted and even encouraged).

Riley was aimlessly trotting through Ponyville, looking for something to do, when he noticed the bakery. Didn't see that before, he thought to himself. He entered the bakery, and said to the mare behind the desk, "Hi there! Could I get a chocolate cupcake please?"

It was 8 am and Berry was almost sleeping on a table, not waiting for any clients to come so early. 

 

"Hi there! Could I get a chocolate cupcake please?"

"Hm ? What what ? Oh a customer ! Sorry, didn't expect visit haha, she said with a big happy smile. Chocolate cupcake, of course. It will be two bits please."

She looked at the stallion and decided to give him a red cupcake to match with his coat. She ran through the kitchen and smelled all the cupcakes to find the best. Berry was so excited she even made two or three kitchen supplies fall on her way but she didn't care. 

"Here's your cupcake ! Anything else ?"

"Hm ? What what ? Oh a customer ! Sorry, didn't expect visit haha, she said with a big happy smile. Chocolate cupcake, of course. It will be two bits please."

She looked at the stallion and decided to give him a red cupcake to match with his coat. She ran through the kitchen and smelled all the cupcakes to find the best. Berry was so excited she even made two or three kitchen supplies fall on her way but she didn't care. 

"Here's your cupcake ! Anything else ?"

"Uh, no thanks. This looks pretty delicious!" answered Riley, placing bits on the counter. He took a bite out of the cupcake... and his eyes rolled back... and he passed out.

 

He awoke lying on the floor. "Man, what hap-" he began, but stopped upon realising that his voice sounded a higher pitch. Next, that his mane had grown longer.

Berry put the money in her pocket and started singing, not paying attention to the customer for a few seconds when she heard a BOOM. She immediately ran behind the counter to lay the pony down. She started thinking of all the possibilities "Allergic reaction ? No he would have know... But new allergies ? Nah this is too intense. Too much blood sugar ? He had only a bite...." She then noticed the hair growing and growing and growing... 

"Oh no no no no no ! Did I mix the wrong ingredients AGAIN ?"

 

He awoke lying on the floor. "Man, what hap-" he began, but stopped upon realising that his voice sounded a higher pitch. Next, that his mane had grown longer.

"Um.... hi, Berry said with an awkward smile. Um... sorry for that. Here, have some water, it should make you feel better. As for the hair, I pay the hairdresser ! Oh and free bakery for the next week for you and your friends."

Seeing how the (now)mare was worried about her new appearance, Berry tried to reassure her :

"It's ok, it goes away very fast. In two days tops you're gonna be your true self, I promise ! Can I do anything to make you feel better ? Tea, Coffee, a normal cupcake ?" Berry was very worried about her bakery, first customer and already problems !

Rilea thought for a second. "Yeah... there's this girl I like... can you turn her into a stallion?"

"Yeah sure ! I mean, if she's okay with it, I don't wanna upset anyone."

Berry shut up quickly  noticing a white unicorn who had just entered the bakery but was already leaving. Shoot I must have scared her ! 

"Hi ! She said to the mare, don't mind us, just talking you know. Can I get you anything ?"

Righty stopped dead in her tracks.

 

"I, uh....do you guys sell cheesecakes?" she said without making eye contact.

Her eyes darted from the mare on the ground to the paintings on the wall.

Choco was in the back helping to organize some of the sweets. She was a rather chubby pony, who mostly loved to eat chocolate. She would eat any sweets though, but chocolate was her fave. She saw Berry helping a customer. "Hi Berry!" She said with happy giggle.

"Cheesecakes ? Of course! We have a few flavors : chocolate, strawberry, lemon and caramel. Which one do you want?"

"Hi Berry!" She said with happy giggle.

Berry turned around to the smiling young mare and smiled back at her

"Hi Choco ! We have customers today isn't that awesome? Would you mind taking care of or dear client here? She wants a cheesecake and I think she's a little bit scared... I mixed the wrong ingredients again, you saw what happened last time. "

"Sure!" Choco said with a giggle. She then walked over to the mare who was waiting  "Hi! My names Choco Delight! I heard you wanted a cheesecake. Well...it'll be right out!" Choco stated as she went to the back. She then mixed the ingredients together. Ten minutes later, she came out with a fresh cheesecake. "There you go!" Choco said with a giggle.

"Thanks..." Righty said. The cheesecake looked great, but something troubled her.

"How...uh...how much is it? I'm a very cheap pony."

"Oh don't worry for the money, said Berry with a smile as always. It's only our first days we can afford to make you a sale. It's usually three bits but you can give as much as you want."

Berry turned around to the other mare who had fallen asleep. "I really need to pay more attention to what I do."

"Okay. I'll be in the back if you need me!" Choco said with a giggle as she trotted back to the back singing a little tune. She started to make a vanilla cake. She cracked a couple of eggs, put some flour, sugar, cinnamon and finally the cake mix. She then mixed it all together, put it in the cake pan and into the oven.

Righty opened up her satchel.

"Umm...how about...2 bits? I don't wanna rip anypony off, but I also don't want to spend alot of money."

 

She placed 2 bits on the counter, still looking around and avoiding eye contact.

 

"Is that good enough?"

"2 bits is totally okay, don't you worry that much ! Is everything okay ? You look very worried..." 

Seeing how there was no other client, Berry relaxed again, passing on the other side of the counter to discuss with the unknown pony. She made herself a carrot juice and a stripe. She took a little sip out of the cup, waiting for the anxious mare to answer.

"Helllllooooo?" called a voice. A gray earth pony trotted in, a green bowtie around her neck. She had followed the absolutely scrumptious scent of freshly baked pasteries to a new-looking bakery. "Ooh!" She pressed her face against the glass and watched the tasty treats. They all looked good. Harmonious, as she was called, lifted her head up. "Can I have, like, one of everything?"

"Ow, hello there !" Berry addressed a big smile to the gray, happy looking pony. Wow it feels like customers are growing fast finally !

"You will need to make a choice,unless you can eat everything at the same time, the patisseries will go bad soon enough. I might suggest you to try one new everyday ?"  It felt like the joy of the mare was floating all around the room, making everypony happy. Berry started laughing kindly.

Righty was impressed that the energetic pony ordered one of everything .

So impressed, she almost forgot to answer the mare behind the counter.

 

"Oh, um, I'm fine, thanks."

She dug at the tiled floor.

"Just a bit wound up today."

 

.Righty was always anxious, this was nothing new.

 

"I was waiting for my sister at the bar over there, but she didn't come, so i fell asleep. They kinda threw me out after that."
