"s..seth..? where.. where is Atmosphere? why.. are we in the Corporation?.."

 

Volt paused locking around

 

"this.. this is not the corporation.. this was.. my lab.. i closed it.. long time ago.. why are we here? what happened?"

 

Volt said slowly getting up still shaking, an evil smile reflecting on a piece of the mirror

Seth looked back to his friend.

"I bought you knew." He replied. "I have no memory of anything since I saved you back in the cage. I feel like I should know... But I don't. I woke up on that table with a new eye and this."

 

Seth displayed both his rainbow eye (he still had no clue about it) and he mark on his new limb. "My assumption is you fixed me up. By the way... Is here something on my head, I have a major migraine right now." He said.

Volt locked at the wolf, faking a suprise

Volt holded a piece of mirror in fron of Seth with his hooves, being carefull to not watch it

 

"so.. shall we take back control of the dam?"

"and for your migraine.. i. i hope it will pass soon eh eh.. now.. open that door Seth... now!"

"What about it.. Oh..." He said, looking into the mirror. His eye reminded him of the mane of Rainbow Dash. It was perfectly rainbowed, but it's green was more intensified.

 

He was about to ask Volt what this was about when he gave the command. At that moment, he got up and opened the door. There was no hesitation in his reaction. His friend asked, he obliged. Simple as that.

Volt turned around, grabbing a Bunsen and a bottle, he filled it with a bottlee of pure alchool

 

"goodbye Nightmare!" He yelled trowing turning on the lachool in the bootle and trowing it in the middle of the blooded room

 

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

 

he screamed back as the hole room was filled by a fire ball, soon everyhting was in flame and an allarm started ringing followd by wather from the ceiling

 

"You bastard!"

 

Volt shouted punching his head on the wall

 

"you will pay for this! some day il will be able to eradicate you like a tumor!"

 

Volt turned to the wolf, his own fur and feathers being washed out of the blood

 

"time to say thanks to those eolves eheh... come on wolf, the elevator is down the corridor.. this is the last level... fucking idiot he destroyed the lab"

Volt opened his wings and flied in front of Seth, lading he started walking trough the corridoe, but suddenly he stopped, turning to the wolf

 

"Seth! never, NEVER follow my orders since now! do not follow what i say! DON'T LISTEN TO THIS BLOODY IDIOT! COME ON WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO LOSE! FOLLOW ME WOLF!"

Seth was already in the corridor when the bottle exploded. He ducked in cover as a wave of heat washed over his body. Getting back up he looked to Volt.

 

"What the hell!" He yelled at him, but noticed he was in yet another one way conversation. This time though, it was only directed to himself. "Volt, are you..." He was interrupted by the new orders from his friend. As he spoke each word, he had the impulse to do what he said, which contradicted it's self. As his mind began to fight over which order to listen to, the migraine intensified. That cupped with the alarm bells, brought him to his knees in agony.

 

"Just... stop this..." He begged. He slammed his new fist to the ground, the fur on it turning a tinted rainbow. Slowly, he crawled towards the shaft in an attempt to escape the pain.

Volt entered in the shaft, holding his forehead in pain, as the wolf was in, he punched the control panel unloading a big quanitiy of electricty, the elevator startd to move upward slowly.. soon there were just the hum of the elevator, the breath of the two friends, ad the sound of a war inside Volt's head

 

"i.. i need some pills... i need something to fight him Seth... i will lose... i know i will"

 

Volt said slowly as he sat on the ground near the wolf

 

".. i.. i am sorry friend.. i tried to forget the past.. i tried to get over it.. but.. it seems that the only way of exiting from it, is for me to die... there is somepony inside me Seth... somepony who doesn't know mercy, he is not the bad side of me... he is what i became working for the corporation.... No Seth..."

 

he said liying down near the wolf, trying to hide under an immaginary cover

 

"i am not only insane,.. i am a treath.. the.. things i have done.. the things i did to you earlier... Bliss was able to block him.. i.. i don't know how this happened.. i don't know how it took control.... i don't even know how much i can hold like this... for this brief moment . i just want to say sorry Seth.. i really do apologize.. i... "

 

VOlt covered his face with his hooves

 

"i don't want to cause pain.. i don't want Seth!!! why am i like this?? WHY!?"

 

Volt without thinking hugged the Wolf strongly, almost sobbing on his fur

 

"Oh friend... i .. i am sorry for what i did to you... "

 

the elevator slowed down

 

"sigh... when those doors will open... they will be waiting for us... they.. they heard the siren for sure.. well.. i guess it is btter for a monster like me to die.."

 

Volt sighed again holding in his theeth some of the wolf's fur in disperation

Seth, after a few moments of the disorientation wearing off, looked to his friend who was crying into his shoulder. As he spoke the chip in his scull interrupted his question as as order to respond. That, coupled with his natural need to courtroom his friend, made him passionately hug his friend in return.

 

"It's ok Electron..." he said in a soft tone. This was the first time he ever chose to use Volt's first name. "...I have weathered more pain that you can dish out. I can take it. As for your other half... I... don't blame you for what you have done. You were forced to kill innocent lives... That breaks the mind. I... know... But that doesn't make you a monster. 

 

"Remember what I promised you? Back at the bar? We swore to always keep each other in check. Volt, that means that I will keep you alive to the best of my ability. You are the closest thing to a brother I have left on this world, and you are the only one I have given my life to. I will not let you kill yourself over Him. He may be the reason we met, but I don't want Him to be the reason we must depart." 

 

As he finished his speech, he held the pony in a close embrace.

Electron... Volt have never been called like that since the work with the corporation, as he heard the name, he whimpered a bit

Volt said closing his eyes and letting himself in a long hug, as he did, the elevators doors opened

 

In the big control room, pegasi were struggling on the computers, unmounting and rewiring them, with them, the same wolves as before turned surprised as the hidden elevator opened to the room, all the ponies and wolves stopped for a second, surprised to see the two friends hugging in the elevator

 

Volt opened his eyes and locked at the mess in his facility, his eyes turned smaller once again

Seth, who was enjoying the moment, was starting to tear up. 

 

Then, the doors opened. Both he and Volt looked at the cause the two species were causing on the dam. As everyone turned to the two of them, his expression turned to one of annoyance. "The first time I have a heart to heart moment with a friend, this has to happen. Fuck you, life." He said, giving the sky the claw. After a second of flipping off Celestia, he turned to Volt.

 

"Well, you want to take the weather boys while I handle the muts?"

Volt said to himself before getting up

 

"i swear to Luna that if i survive.. i will replace all elevators with stairs!" Volt said locking at the big screen, an huge number of strings of code flowing trough it

 

"Damn it Seth! they are opening all the valves! they will flood Ponyville! we ahve to stop them! .. Keep the wolves away from me, i'll try to have a 'chat' with my ex collegues! "

 

Volt shouted taking off and flying trough the wolves, he grab a big pipe wrench on the floor, located his first target, he downed it on the poor orange pegasus's head, smashing it

 

"THAT IS FOR HAVING RUINED MY MOMENT AND MADE ME INSANE AGAIN!"

 

he turned around to see another terryfied pegasus holding one of the taser, Volt closed his eyes and pointed an hoof to a panel on the wall that soon exploded into a streamer. The ark reached the pony's taser which exploded of overload, sending the pony against the eall

 

"AND THIS IS FOR MY DAM!"

 

Volt shouted in an insane manner, a rabbid look on his face, his mane almost flutating in a cloud of static electricty, every muscle and vein pulsing anger and hate

"My pleasure!" Seth growled, glaring at the wolves. They were doing the same. Some were armed with tasers, others had guns.

 

"Time to even the score..." With a quick movement, he darted to the first wolf, wrapping his taser and holding it around his neck as to use the wolf as a meat shield. One nerves wolf opened fire, hitting both his team mate and a few computer screens. With his mag depleted, Seth hurled the body at the now unarmed wolf. Still holding the taser, he ignited it and hurled the wand at the third unlucky opponent. It seemed a bit overkill, as the taser penetrated into one of the eye sockets, causing the wolf to fall and twitch.

 

At the moment of his pride, Seth felt multiple impacts across his body and fell to the ground. After a second of shock, he looked up to see the first wolf holding a shotgun. He looked rather shocked to see Seth walk away from a hit from his gun.

 

"My turn."

 

The slightly bloodied wolf charged at the armored beast, dodging a second round of fire in the process. When he was a meter away, the wolf lowered his shooting arm and took a swing at him with his other. His mistake. With little effort, Seth ducked under the blow and punched at the outstretched arm holding the gun. With a rewarding crack of a bone, the wolf released the shotgun and fell back in pain. Seth quickly armed the gun, cocked it, and pointed it at his foe.

 

"This is for my betrayal!" He yelled, shooting one of the wolf's hind legs.

"This is for my banishment!" His other leg

"For Dawn!" His broken arm.

"For the wolfpack!" His other arm.

"And this... is for what you did to Volt!" He yelled tossing the gun away and mauled what remained of the wolf into a bloody hunk of meat. He did this for several seconds, until there was no resemblance of a wolf.

Volt twichted seeing his friend having so much fun

 

"who need weapons when you have your own wolf?"

 

Volt said to a terrorized pegasus, holding his electric baton like a shield while crawling backward to a wall

 

Volt looked deeply in his eyes, licking his lips he could feel the fear of the pegasus, he remmbered that sensation back at the laboratory, the midnight screams, the tortures, like an drug this feel was all around his body, pervading his twisted mind

 

Volt stepped ahed.

 

"The poor little blue pegasus you know is dead insect, are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence? When the history of my glory is written, you and the corporation shall only be a footnote to my magnificence!!! "

 

Volt shouted at the pegasus, he then took the baton from his hooves, with a grin he stabbed the pony in the neck, holding the bleeding chin of the victim, he got closer

 

"cross my heart, hope to fly, look into my eyes as you die"

 

Volt then laughtes removing the baton from his neck and turning around

 

"ANYPONY ELSE???"

 

Volt suddenly felt on the ground holding his head with his hoof

 

"what... what..."

 

he saw the blood on his hooves and some of it dropping from his own forehead, jumping backward in shock volt hit a computer

 

"..My... My.. what.. what have i done again??"

 

VOlt turned around to see scared Pegasi and remainings of a once been wolf

 

"this.. this is a nightmare!"

 

He then noticed the screen, reconignizing an allarm

 

"they.. they hacked into it! they are opening the electrovalves! Seth! SETH! THEY ARE GONNA FLOOD THE VILLAGE!"

 

Volt shouted in the air

 

"WE MUST GET OUT OF HERE and discable each valve manually! there is no other way!"

 

As he speak the main door opened, and a small wave of armoed pegasi and wolves entered in the room, not normal armors on them, not simple tasers, but full military armors and machineguns

 

"SETH! THE DOOR TO THE MAIN ELEVATOR! WE MUST ESCAPE THERE! IS THE ONLY WAY OUT!"

 

The group took position opening fire trough the room, destroing litteraly every piece of equipment, Volt that was standing there, jumped to the other side of a scaffloid... but too late, soon a rain of bullet pierced trought his wings

Seth looked up from his bloodbath to see The reinforcements. As the first bullets started firing, he jumped for better cover. Taking up residence behind some fallen metal, he looked himself over to see if he had been hit. Upon further in estigation, he found that the shotgun had left a bloodier mess then he first thought. His right foreleg took the brunt of the blow and was starting to give out. He would be fine though... Right?

 

 

His mind snapped to Volt when he heard the yell. The pegasus was not far away from him and he seemed to be hit as well. Seeing the pistol from the one wolf, he grabbed it and a fresh mag from a body's vest. Looking over the corner, he saw the ponies an wolves approaching. Taking aim, he fired four rounds: two for a pony, two for a wolf. The pony went down, but the wolf only was moderately wounded. Taking his one chance, Seth ran to volts aid.

 

Seth looked down at the wing. It was definitely bad... but he would live. He began to lick the wound clean of blood and other contaminants. After doing so, he grabbed a piece of a pony's vest and tied it around the wound to slow the bleeding. It would hold, but they needed to get out of there.

"what the hell are you doing friend?"

 

Volt said calming down, his eyes returning to a normal dimension

 

"friend.. we can't stay here.. we will ill us, but what matters is that the dam is slowly opening all the bulkheads... if we don't hurry up to disable the four main valves... ponyville will be flooded! we don't have much time!.. i'd say a quarter of hour but i am not sure! we must disable them!.. but first... how are we going to get out of here alive Seth?? I can't fly with my wing reduced at this state! Do you have any ideas friend?!?  Maybe a diversion could work! "

Seth thought for a moment as to what to do. As he did, a wolf jumped over their cover, only to be blown away by three rounds to the head. He grabbed the gun the pony dropped. Seeing he also had a few grenades, the idea came to him. Grabbing the round explosives, he pulled the pins on all but one and threw them into the crowd. He pocketed the last for what came next. Seth grabbed his friend and used himself as a shield as they ran for the shaft. as they reached the doors, he tossed the grenade (pin still attached at the entrance to where the elevator was.

 

The first explosions went off, bodies being hurled across the room. Still, they kept coming. Seth brought up the stolen machine gun an held cover fire as he yelled to Volt.

"You better get that metal box up here before we are Swiss cheese!" He said as rounds left his gun. As he continued to fire, he noticed that there was a small blood pool where he was standing. He had taken more rounds. As he tried to shrug it off, he couldn't help but feel reality beginning to fade out. Still, he needed to save Volt and all of ponyville.

Volt runned with Seth, without thinking, his brain filled in an internal war as gruesome as what was happening outside, he didn't think.. he just jumped in the shaft, but as he saw his friend in big diffuclties, Volt snapper out

 

jumping outside of it volt pointed his hoof to the main control panel, concentrating he sent his last charge of energy, soon the panel exploded, and the big screen  felt down form the wall, crushing the wolves entering in the room, he then grabbed the wolf's tail with hs theeth, entering in the elevator and closing the doors behind him

 

Volt was panting heavily, he turned his head to his friend

 

"Seth... can you tell me something please? Why each time we met alone.. we end up fighting, hurting ourselves and trying to end each other's life? " he said looking at the bullets holes on his friend's body

 

"Friend.. those are bad injuries... we need to reach the infermery.. as soon as possible"

 

Volt sat on the floor against the wall of the elevator, once again holding his head

 

"i really wish i was free.. really.. is like.. having to live with a bomb inside you...  but it is worst Seth... he will take away the most important thing in my life... my friends.. i know Seth... i shouldn't live .... "

 

Volt sighed

 

"really.. you and my other friends.. are the only thing that keeps me going each day here.. the hope to see you all again... what can i do brother? What the hell can i do.."

 

Volt asked to himself more than to the wolf... his blue fur almost all covered in blood

 

"insanity is relative Seth.. what is worst?  having a monster inside.. or trying to kill thousand of innocent ponies for a stupid ideal of a perfect Flock? That Seth is insanity... working with the company.. showed me that there are no limitis to it... it may appear stupid.. but nothing of this.. not the blood on me, not the massacre, not even HIS return.. nothing is very surprising.. you learn to love your life even if it suck, after you see such things Seth.. really... i don't know why i am here.. right now.. instead of having been killed with the others who tried to rebel... i am bubblering again.. sigh... sorry Seth.. is just that... "

 

Volt lied down closing his eyes

 

"i just wish all of this were just a nightmare... just something.. that pass away.. that goes by... but then.. i realzie.. that i wouldn't have friends like you.."

 

Volt rolled on his side, hugging the wolf's leg and looking almost asleep

 

"Harmony is broken Seth.. Harmony is a word... friends.. are.. the solution.. of everything"

 

soon Volt was asleep at the wolf's paws, th elevator still going deep in the underground of the old dam

Seth hit the ground with a hefty "Ghh" as he tossed his now empty gun to the side. As they descended, Seth listened to Volt's epiphany. It was truly touching what he was saying, but a little off time. He looked at his friend as he slept on his leg. It was almost...cute.

 

Sadly, the situation didn't call for cuteness, it called for saving the day. As the elevator came a halt, Seth tried to get up without disturbing the pony. As he stood, Seth became light-headed due to the blood loss.He stumbled a bit as he tried to get to the doors. Thankfully Volt had sent them to the infermery so they both could get patched up before they had to stop the end of ponyville. He walked out of the room, pulling Volt by the neck of his vest.

 

As he looked around for some medical equipment to get the bullets out of his flesh, he was able to acquire a pare of tweezers and sit's on a medical table to begin the tedious process of getting the metal out of him. 

 

As he did his work, he talked to himself to lessen the physical pain. "Volt, you are a hell of a guy. I just wish for once we actually got to see each other and get to know what the other is like. We just get caught up n these damn adventures." Seth gave a slight laugh to the dam pun as he pulled another few rounds out of his arm. Looking over the new appendage, he noticed the blood was slightly tinted in a rainbow fashion. This brought his mind back to his eye. As he tried to remember what happened earlier, only one word surfaced: 

 

Spectra.

 

He would have to ask Volt about it once he awoke, it Seth could stay awake that is.

Volt feeling the absence of the leg slowly woke up

 

"uhm uh... where.. where are we?"

 

Volt looked around

 

"uh yes.. the infermery.. level seven or something.."

 

he said in a sleepish tone, almost yawning, then he was his friend removing bullets from his felsh, and suddenly all the memories came back line an adrenlaine shoot

 

"THE DAM! THA VALVES! WE MUST CLOSE THEM SETH!"

 

Voltshouted walking in circles around the medical table

 

"we msu.. we must... "

 

Volt opened his back loocking for the map of the massive building

 

"we.. we are on the right floor....just... we need to locate the main corridor.. i hope it is not already flooded.."

 

Volt turned aroun approaching his wounded friend

 

"how are you buddy? can.. can i help you somehow?"

Seth pulled out yet another pellet from the shotgun burst. "Ya, if you have some bandages and some wolf blood lying around I would love it." He said, continuing to work. "I should be up in a minute or two once I get some patches over these things. I already got most of the bullets out." He said. Resting the blooded surgical tool on the ground, he looked to his new limb. It was still bleeding the colored liquid.

 

"Hey Volt... quick question. What is... spectra?"

Volt opened a cupboard and as he saw the bandage he held them to Seth

 

"why the hell should i have wolven's blo....

 

Volt stopped in the middle of the sentence, whimpering as he heard that name, his back shivering and terror in his eyes.. Volt looked like a pony that had just saw the ghost of its own son

 

"S..sp...spectra.... how..how do you know this name?"

 

Volt asked taking a seat still shaking, all of energy focused on trying to control himself.. and his memories

"I'm not quite sure." He said in a confused but blissful tone. The lack of blood in his system was beginning to have it's effects. "I was just getting some metal out of my arm and look." He said, displaying the multi-colored blood. A sudden impulse of his brain wanted him to lick it and see what it tasted like. With a scientist like look, he took a quick lick of the flowing blood. After a small lap, he smiled in satisfaction. It tasted like... spicy lemonade. He took several more licks to confirm his conclusion. He  stopped after a while, his thirst satisfied. With a rainbow red layer of film on his mussel, he smiled to Volt. "When this is all over bro, we need to bottle this stuff." He said, his head swaying slightly.

Volt's terror faded completely, he looked at his friend, slightly turning his head to his right shoulder with an idiotic facial expression

 

"pardon me freind.. but....are you sure that you are all ok? i mean... you are bleeding.. rainbow blood... i am the extreme expression of bipolarism.. we are stuck underground in a dam that has been sabotated to floow a village to start a war... "

Volt took a scalpel and pinched his own hoof

 

"good Luna... who needs to dream with stuff like that... ahem.. Seth.. yeah... you would not drink it if you knew what there is inside.. and by the way.. it is your own blood... is not very good for you.. ahem... so.."

 

The pegasus placed his hoof on the wolf's neck.. no pulse..

 

"that means that yuor pressure is at least less than 80 mmhg.... that's not good.. you are going into an ipovolemic shock..."

 

Volt said preparing a saline solution

 

"this should help you for a while.. and.. damn Luna please stop drinking it buddy!"

Seth looked up as the pony started talking. His head was still swaying a bit, but he didn't care. For all he cared, he was on top of the world. 

 

"So I have a hiper-volactic Spock? Cool..." He muttered to himself. While Volt was turned away, Seth returned to his arm. Suckling it like a pup would, he mumbled to himself, "No pony is going to take my arm from me... that would be mean." He said. As he slowly licked the lemonade from his arm, the world began to turn white.

 

"Hey Volt... when did you get the big white light..." He asked, his voice fading out.

he said trying to make the wolf lie on the tables, as he did, Volt injected in him a saline solution and a syringe of glucosium, after that he procede preparing a syringe of adrenaline

 

"poor Seth.. the blood loss got him crazy.. damn.. i must proceed quickly before he goes in a state of shock!"

 

Volt muttered to himself connecting an ekg and a mulriparametric station to his friend

 

"75mmhg higher blood pressuse... 67 heartbeat per minute... LUna darn it!"

 

"i am sorry.. just.. don0t kill me when you weak up please.."

 

Volt quickly injected the adrenalice syringe  in the Wolf's arm closing his eyes
