(I have little medical knowledge, so point me where I am wrong.)

 

Seth was already out be the time Volt got to him, but when the syringe hit him, he was back awake. His eyes burst open and but it was only an impulse. Slowly, he began to fully wake up and feel the energy (and the pain from the wounds) course through him. He yelped out sightly from the stimulation, but stayed on the table. After a few seconds, he turned to Volt with a weak smile.

 

(again, could be horribly wrong. Just guild me if I am).

Volt yelled

 

"stay right there, we are not finished yet.. we need to reintragate your blood.. at least with saline solution... and don't freat much..  just be quite there.. we can't go around with you in this state!"

 

the pegasus said while watching closely the wolf's wounds

 

"good Luna.... you are a tank covered in fur my friend.."

 

he commented locking at the ammount of wounds his poor friend had on his body

 

"you have to eat something Seth.. really.. and not just your own blood!.. "

Seth took a slight laugh to the comment about his endurance. "Volt, I was once stabbed in the heart in the middle of a war-torn town. I'm still here. That's what you get when the Wolven Empire trains you from a pup: endurance and resistance. As for food... well, I'll eat anything that's not a salad" He said. "By the way, don't worry about me. I'll be fine as long as I'm stable. You go out there and stop this place from flooding innocent lives." Seth ordered.

Volt said looking at the infusion almost empty

 

"i don't know if they know... hoe the dam works.. i  mean.. the control room has been blowed up completely.. i think that the cameras are Kaput too.. but.. do you think they will be guarding even this lover corridors?"

 

Volt said locking to a clock on the wall

 

"there isn't much time left Seth... are you with me in this?"

 

Volt said hanging his hoof to his friend

 

"let's take those bastards down and save the village... then i swear that i wil eat meat with you Luna damn it... and i used to complain that my life were boring.. tsk! with you around, a vacancy on the sea turns into a problem.. a working day turns into a resque mission eh? "

 

Volt laughted

 

"i guess that as long as we stick togheter.. we are hard to die eh eh"

"Yet... it seems we only get in more trouble when together." Seth said, taking Volt's hoof. As he pulled himself up, he grunted under his weak body. "I'll be a bit slow for you, but I still have some skill to compensate. By the way, from knowing the stubbornness of wolves, they will not be guarding the valves. They will be hunting their prey themselves. You will find your weather ponies guarding the pipes." He commented as he looked his body over. He was vary stiff with pain, but he could take it for another round or two.

 

"And when this is over, I will roast you up the best prime rib I've got." he said.

"yyeahh awesome.." Volt said rolling his eyes with a smile thinking about the meat

 

"ok buddy... we better let go if you fell allright."

 

Volt opened the old rusty panic door, ahed of it a lond dark corridor with no lights and no end; Volt pointed his  hoof to the ceiling again, but nothing happened, if not just a small little cute spark

 

"awesome..  i guess i have no electricity left.. oh by the way... maybe you don't remmeber.. but... thank you for the recharge before... it was what save us.. now... i think you can see better than me in the dark... please, tell me where i am going.."

 

Volt said enetering in the sark tunnel, after some steps, he couldn't see even his own hooves

 

"Awesome.. really.. if only i followed the night flyght orientation course back at the flying school! damn me!"

 

his own voice ecoed trough the corridor, returning back to him

 

"i am heeeeereee"

 

Volt heard a soft mockin voice behind him.. he turned to see just Seth

 

"i know you are there friend... let's go.."

Seth took some uneasy steps forward as he tried to keep himself upright. After some disorientation, he was able to walk at a decent pace. Looking to the corridors, his eyes adjusted immediately. He passed Volt and looked down the corridor. It seemed rather empty, but only enough room for one at a time.

 

"Hey Volt, I can see find in here. Just fallow me and if you need to grab my tail." He said as he began his walk. After ten meters and a turn, Seth thought he saw something hanging from the ceiling ahead. When he got over to it, he slowed to get a better look. It was a hook, but it was bloody. "What the hell..." He muttered to himself as he reached out for it. As he did, the hood resolved into thin air. Had he just imagined it?

 

Putting that experience in the back of his mind, he continued to walk down the corridor. As he reached a T junction, he looked to his left to see the corridors continue, but to his right only made his blood run cold.

 

There, in the middle of a room, was an experimentation table with a pony strapped to it. Something was being pumped from the small filly's body, but Seth couldn't tell. Seth looked away, not sure what to think. However, when he looked back, there was only a wall. He slowly walked up to it, placing a paw on it.

 

"What the hell is going on?" He said to himself in a demanding tone.

Volt stopped glaring at his friend

 

"uhmm... S..Seth? something is wrong? Are you ok? maybe i should give you some painkillers or something? "

 

Volt placed his hoof on the wolf's shoudler

 

"i can't see anything... when you reach a junction, go to the right, there must be another up ahed there... were th corridor unites with a larger gallery.... it is the secondary pumping station... i don't know if it is still operating... nopony ever walked down there since ages... we will be able to reverse the flow of the water from there.. just wath out for the webs around plese.. heck.. i wish i could see in the night!"

Seth shakes his head, trying to clear his thoughts. "Sorry... just having some wired hallucinations..." He said, tuning away from where he had encountered the lab. "Let's keep moving."

 

He walked down the corridors, turning at the T junction and came to a sealed door. As he approached, there was a a message written in blood across it.

 

Don't trust the pegusi

 

Seth shook his head again in an attempt to clear himself from whatever delusion was plaguing him. "Volt... these hallucinations are getting worse." he said, ready to open the now clean door.

Seth pushed open the door, revealing a pump room.

 

"I...I keep seeing... laboratories, and messages written in blood across the walls." He said as he walked in. "Well... here's the room." He said. Fumbling around, he found a light switch. When he flicked it on, his face went pail.

 

Fillies and colts, being held by chains from their wings, were hanging from the ceiling. Dripping from them was the same multicolored liquid that was flowing through his veins. He could hear distant echos of tortured screams, old mechanical systems grinding away at what he dared not to imagine, and  After staring at the scene for some time he blinked as a tear rolled down his eye.

 

They were gone again.

 

Looking to Volt, he glared at him and advanced on the pegasus. "What. What the hell did you put into me?" He demanded.

Volt looked very worried at the wolfm then he sighed, closing his eyes he sat on the ground

 

"what HE did Seth...."

 

VOlt took a long breath

 

"an old experiment... a type of advanced first aid kit.. a liquid you put n the tissue.. and bam.. you are fixed back.. but.. as usual it didn't work. the CWC made me to work on it.. many bits and time were spent... a mixture of Staminal cells, the blood of the patient... and Spectra... it has beentested of course... but nopony know the results... we just know all the limbs grown back... that's.. that's all.. Spectra is the pigment that is used to make rainbows.. it is probably the most powerfull magic compound of the universe.. that's why it bends with the staminal cells.. that's.. all.. ALL"

Seth closed on his friend. He wasn't going to hurt him, but intimidation was needed. He had just stared at butcher's shop that didn't exist. There had to be more. Grabbing Volt by the shoulder, he demanded,

 

"You keep mentioning spectra. What is it and why did I find myself staring at filly pegasi hanging from chains dripping the same stuff that's in my blood???" He was now gripping the shoulder with decent force.

Volt stared shocked at the wolf's eyes

 

"you.. you.. saw... what.. i..."

 

Volt was shacking

 

"i.. i swear.. i .. i never went up there.. i swear.. i never took that elevator.. i don't know.. i don't know!  "

 

Volt yelled with a tear down his eye

 

"i... i guess i have to tell you... "

 

Volt said taking an huge breath and cleaning his eye with his hoof

 

"Now a rainbow's tale isn't quite as nice as the story we knew of sugar and spice, but a rainbow's easy once you get to know it"

 

Volt muttered to himself

 

"i wasn't supposed to know.. but.. you know me.. i am a cruios pony.. i hacked the elevator to the upper factory Seth.. death is a gift for those who tries that.... i saw the truth.. Spectra... Seth... Spectra is ..."

 

Volt stopped hearing some step approaching

Seth was on the verge of attacking Volt for holding back what he pumped into his body. However, sat hearing the approaching threat, he also turned. Looking to the other side of the door, he saw if smash open with wolves and ponies on the other side.

 

"I'm going to get back on that question when we save Ponyville." He reminded Volt as he looked for something to use as a weapon.

Volt noticed the quanity of enemies approaching

 

"we ain't have time for that! Run Seth! we must seek and activate the valves!"

 

Volt shouted pulling his friend trough the corridor and bucking a pipe that felt oblique in the corridor

Volt shouted again trying to gain pace, soon, bullets where flying again

Seth, not expecting to run, stumbled for a sec then began to run. Reaching his max speed (roughly 45 mph) in a matter of seconds, Seth didn't look back to see what was fallowing. He could hear the bullets ping off the metal walls and even fly over his head. He finally turned a corner, losing the threat of the gun ponies an wolves.

 

"So vVolt, where are we going?" He called back.

volt said locking at the grey flash, and while clsoing a big metal door behind him

 

"good.. now we are trapped i guess.. well.. at least we can die saving the village... that is the only way out of here.. let's look for the pumps okay?"

 

Volt said hyperventilating

 

"and... Seth.. you really want to know what Spectra is made of? You know that not even the princesses knows this secret? You know it will haunt you for the rest of your existence?"

 

Volt said trying to keep calm

 

"do you know how insane is that secret?"

Seth started looking amounts the pipes for the right one. He didn't know exactly what he was looking for, but it would be hopefully well marked.

 

"Well, don't hold your breath Volt. We tend to die once in a while. We'll pull through." He reassured running to another set of pipes.

 

"As for the spectra, if I have that stuff crossing through my body and givving me these halusinations, I believe I desurve to know." He said, turning to his friend. After a second, he went back to the pipes. If he was ever going to die, this wasn't how.

Volt leaned against a pipe

 

"i don't know either what to loo kfor Seth, i have been down here only one time bacause i was lost when i  started woring here... we need to look for some pumps, they are painted blue, and they are supposed to be doing an hella lot of noise"

 

Volt said

 

"so i guess you may have to follow your ears and the smell of fried electronics..."

 

the pegasus rubbed his wing with his hoof, he was tired, really tired

 

"..and for the Spectra..."

 

he got up and started walking with a sigh

 

"what do you know how cutie marks works Seth? We all know that it symbolize our special talent, but how does it appear on a pony's flank?  how does our coat and mane have this colors? why are they always so bright? It is magic Seth.. small quantity of perpetue magic flowing in our body... that keeps our colors alive... Spectra is alive too.. that's why the allucinations.."

Seth stopped for a minute at the description. Spectra was... Alive? But what was he hinting on here? There was more than Volt was letting on. If it was alive, then it was just alive; why bring up the fact about ponies being magical?

 

Unless... No, no, of corse not. It couldn't be. He walked over to where volt was in order to chech the pipes there, but mostly to get in closer proximity to his friend.

 

"Then what is this magical stuff made of?" He asked.

Seth stained at his friend for the longest time. Did he just say... Coat colors? As in...pony coat colors? That wasn't possible... right? Right? Did volt build him out of extracted magic and color of a living pony?

 

As if to shake him from his trance, he heard volts outburst. He was acting out ever since the subject arose, which only made him feel more scared of the truth that might literally be in his blood. He walked over to his friend, only to find him nervous.

 

"Volt... I will need to know everything... But first lets find these pipes." He said. He walked down the room, then spotted a blue pipe down the hall. "V, I might have spotted it."

Volt said grabbing a lead pipe for the ground with his theeth and approaching the pump

he stopped

 

"why are we sweating like that? What's the point? risk our lives for a stupid and worthless village?"

 

Volt readied the pipe on his friend's forehead, then suddenly dropped it, holding his head in his hooves

 

"ARGH DAMN IT! Seth! i can't hold on like this! i just can't!! all of this stress and shit is not helping me against him! i need to get our of here as soon as possible.. maybe.. maye Bliss can help me... i don't know.. i don't bucking know! ki just know that SPECTRA IS MADE OUT OF PONIES"

Seth was half way turning the first override valve when volt gave him the news. With great force, he finished the turning of he first valve, then turned to face his 'friend'. With rare flaming in his eyes, he stood on his hind legs towering over volt.

 

"What. Did. You. Just. SAY?" He demanded, picking the pony up by the throat and pinning him against the wall. Volt was routhly a foot off the ground with Seth's hight gain.

 

"You built me from-from ponies?!? Volt, you sick basterd! How the hell could you bring yourself to do it? How could your evil self be able to do it? How?!?!" He demanded as he increased pressure.
