Looking around where he dropped in, there were three possible routes to take. Through one, he could smell the stench of the dogs. He began his walk through the mine, keeping his ears perked for any sign of unwanted activity. After a kilo of walking, he began to notice multiple tunnels converging into one. Shortly after, he found what looked to be an underground base.

 

"Well volt, I found the camp. Let's see what they have..." He reported, advancing on what looked to be a store room. It was abandoned, not even a guard to protect it. Inside, the storage containers and shelves were knocked down most likely from the blast. He began to look for one crystal resembling Volts description. Pulling our a flashlight, he began to check the rocks for their purity.

 

"Freeze!" Something yelled from behind Seth. Slowly turning around, she found herself facing a rather large thing that resembled a dog carrying a spear.

 

"Um, volt? I might need assistance. I'm compromised."

"what the hay... i am coming Seth, keep frosty"

 

As he spoke Volt took off, bolting toward the grid where he saw Seth last time

 

"it mus tbe there..."

 

he opened it, jumping in

 

"well.. buck the cover... sigh.. why do i alwaqys end putting myself and friends in this kind of situations?"

 

while speaking he placed his hoof on a nearby wire, turning on all the lights

 

"ok.. let's pretend this is an hunt.. where is she?"

"What are you doing here!?" The dog barked. He seemed to lower his guard some, seeing as it was a female he was addressing. Seth noticed this, seeing a way to use this to his advantage.

 

"Well..." The she wolf said, a hypnotic tone in his voice. "I just wanted to see if there were and strong... powerful dogs guarding the gems. Seems I hit the jackpot." She said, slowly advancing on the guard, swaying her hips as she did.

 

"Well... Umm..." The guard uttered, obviously not expecting the events that were playing out. "Y-you are in restricted territory..."

 

"Then there will be no one to find us..." Seth said, placing a paw on the spear, lowering it. She then draped an arm around the dog, a look of 'come get me' in her eyes. Seeing this, the guard placed down the spear, turned around, and locked the door. When he turned to his new companion, he was greeted by a sharp metal rod protruding through his chest.

 

"And that, my dear puppy, is what happened if you try to get more than your little mouth can chew." Seth cooed, patting the top of the deceased head. He draged the body into a lockers and sealed it off, returning to his gem hunt.

Volt was still navigating without a clue in the corridors

 

"so.. Seth sniff his preys eh? why i can smell only mud here?"

 

He said to himself, then noticed something

 

"well.. i might not be a wolf... but those are paws.."

 

He said looking at the ground

 

"maybe they are his.. maybe they are from the dogs.. what is the diffference beetween the paw of a dog an the one of a wolf? I shoulda have aske..."

 

Volt then noticed some shadows in the backgroun

 

"shit.. i think i will need to discover it by myself"

taking off to not leave his own step, he started following the paws, till he arrved to a big metal door

 

"damn it.. well this is mine"

 

as he spoke he  brought up his small propane torch, taking it in his mouth and starting to cut on the door

Fining some rather pure gems (along with a few for herself), Seth sat back against the wall to analyze her goods. She then looked up to see a blue flame seeping through the door. Pulling out the spear from the dead dog, it's ribcage stuck midway, Seth prepared herself for another wave of dogs.

as  soon as the piece of metal felt, Volt opened the door, bucking it, soon he found himself with a metal spear right in front of his eyes, which crossed looking at it

 

"uah ahm.. h..hallo? G..goold wolf it is just me.. Volt.. "

 

he moved the spear slowly and gently toward the ground

The she-wolf smiled at the scared pony and allowed him in. "Sorry for the scare, I was expecting something a little bigger and uglier. Possibly a friend of his." She greeted, gesturing to the dripping locker. With a smirk, she tossed the spear away and showed the pony what loot she had found. "Well, see anything you like? Possibly something for a wedding ring?" She joked.

"no horn... uhm.. maybe you could get a nice pair of earrings Sethie! ahaha! so.. did you found the crystal we need? does it scompose light? if so let's get the buck out of here"

Rolling her eyes with a smile, Seth walked back to were she had found his top picks. Showing them to Volt, she shined her flashlight on the crystals, producing a rainbow effect before them. "You think any of these will be good?" She asked, looking over his treasure.

"nah nevermind.. yes it will be fine... take what you want for yourself, i will just need this one for the holographyc belt... so.. any plan to get out of here?"

Seth thought for a minute as she tried to think of a plan for escape. The dogs were probably still busy with their little digging operation to be on high alert. Still, Volt didn't want to get caught. "Well, If I lead the way, I can probably alleviate any guards without too much worry." Seth suggested.

"uhm ok sounds good, i will stay back with the spears if the situation gets too hot, i may try to fly up on the ceiling while you walk, so i guess i will have less possibility to get spotted.. and also i can have a better visual of your flank, so it is a double win! shall we go Sethy?"

Seth rolled her eyes at the comment, smirking back at the pony. "You know, it's usually the guy who proposes to the girl. All you have to do is ask." She reminded, waving her rump as she left. With a quick check of the exterior, she signaled Volt to follow. As she rounded the corner to the cave, she began to smell his trail back to where she came in. "Let's go." Seth whispered.

Seth could only shake his head to this as he walked down the tonal. Thankfully, they didn't run into any opposition and made it to where the vent opened up. As he approached the hole in the ceiling, the excitement died off. "Um... Volt? Unless you are willing to carry me, I'm not going to be able to get out..."

Seth shook her head in slight shame as well as amusement. After so meany taunts, it was beginning to flatter the she-wolf. 

 

"Just lift me by the back." she said, letting the station prepare to lift her through the vent. "Also, no enjoying it! We still need to finish the job back at the dam."

He finally managed to get the she wolf on his back

Volt opened his wings getting ready to jump

 

"this position.... it should be the other way around mahahahah"

 

as soon as he spoke Volt bolted toward the vent on the ceiling

Seth nuzzled Volt's face, getting a grip on the pony. "This way, I know you can't try something on me." She said, giving a slight laugh. As they ascended, Seth looked to the rocks he collected, watching them sparkle with the random amounts of light that hit them.

Volt said slowly and gently landing outside the cave

 

"i just need one.. i will make you a necklace or something if you want with them later... so... how about you show me your body again on a race to the dam? oh wait.. no way.. you are faster now i guess.. oh buck it.. let's take a trip trough the forest, ponies usually runs trought it afraided and scarried... let's see if it can turn into something more.. nice"

"Volt, you always were one for adventure." The wolf said, nuzzling into Volt's fur. "You know we still need to prep for the weather ponies. Still, a little fun couldn't hurt before we get back to work." She said with a little laugh. "What did you have planed for the forest?"

"from the dam i spooted with my binocular a patch that an old strange Zebra living in the forest always follow, it look rather safe compared to what we are used to espect from the forest... its end is really close to here, so i am thinking about taking it to get back to the dam with a slow pace.. and enjoy the surrounding.. are you up for it?"

Seth thought about it for a second. "Sure thing. Now by slow paced, do you mean my version of sow, your version of slow, or something else?" Seth asked, rubbing into Volt's neck as he flew. The two were close to landing now, and Seth realized he hadn't even thought about heights along the way.

Volt slowly approached the ground, letting the she.wolf go

 

"by slow paced i mean.. walking... you know... not running after a rabbit, and not try to escape from bullets... something that normal ponies do.. yeah kinda strange for a pegasus and a wolf that barelly survived to their deaths quite lot of times... speaking of what.. do you still have the count?"

"a simple walk.. trough the forest.. to the dam.. easy as it looks"

As Seth was lowered to the ground, she trotted along the path with Volt. "Well, I only kept track of how many times we tried to kill each other. The list would go for miles if I did EVERY time we nearly die. So far, it's at 5 each." She said, going over the score mentally.

 

As the two walked, Seth leaned into Volt, resting a bit of weight on him. "It's fun to see where our adventures lead us." She said.
