Seth was all but sure what just happened. As the dark pony died, the world faded around him. Was that his brother? Volt's alter ego? If so, where was he? As he continued to ponder these questions, he began to feel light-headed. As if all he thought was real was being warped apart, his head hit the ground as he slipped into unconsciousness.

Volt woke up on the dam, his hoof was stuck on a pipe and he was hanging down near the breah on the higher side of the dam

 

"w..what..what the hell?"

 

Hismind in confusion was only able to see the sall water fall in formation from the dry side of the dam, getting bigger by the seconds

 

he tried to get up, but couldn't, on the other side of the breach, in fron of the coils, Seth was lying on the ground

 

"SETH! WAKE UP! WE CAN STILL STOP THIS! I NEED HELP!! SETH!!"

Seth heard the yell for his attention, but just barley. The world around him was still fading in. As he did, he began to feel his two broken pieces of his body. He then looked up to see Volt half covered with a pipe.

 

"V...Volt?" He asked, not sure what was real and what was a lie. He then noticed the water of the dam and it clicked. Ponyville. Slowly standing, he hobbled over to where his friend was laying. His leg and paw were killing him, but he needed to help his friend. Gripping the pipe with his one good paw, he tried to move it.

 

"Volt, I can't do it alone. I need your help!"

Volt tried to get up, whit all of his force, he flapped his wings trying to gather some trust upward

 

"damn it i am stuck! this pipe.. i can't free my hoof!"

 

He yelled as the skin around it started to scortch a bit

 

"you need to break it somehow! hit my hoof if needed i don't care! we must reverse the polarity of the storm!!"

With a despite act of force, he reared his claws back, ready to strike. Even with his broken paw, Seth began to slash at the metal, hoping to gain ground on the pipe. Slowly, it began to gain cuts, although it would hurt for volt more as he is pushing down on the pipe to break it. Finally, the pipe splits in two and he is able to role it away from Volt. Seth lied down after his work, the pain and exhaustion overwhelming him.

Volt kringled a bit foor the pain, then as he was set free, he begin to fall, he opened his wings and with lot of efforts he was able to reach again the top of the dam.

 

placing an hoof around Seth's shoulder he said

"brother... i will need to ask Cloudsdale to hire you as a bucking real wolf and give you a dam promotion after this.. stupind pun intended"

 

with a fleble smiled he got up

 

"now.. we don't have much time left... we need to reverse the polarity as this is a chain reaction.. if we just turn them off, the storm will have still enough power to maintain itself.. and the dam will fall.."

 

as he spoke he pointed his hoof toward the giant waves that were hitting hard on the concrete structurem trying to pass trough it

Seth gave a weak smile to his energetic friend.

 

"Ya... Volt, you know me better than to give up..." The wolf said, a more prominent face of determination. As to prove his point, he tried to stand. When he did, he smirked at Volt. "It takes more than a little energy and metal to bring down a wolf..." He said with some effort. However, his victory was short-lived. As he tried to fallow Volt, he fell to the ground in a heap of wolf.  His broken limbs were gone and the ones that were intact were out of commission due to the events of the day. Gripping his body in pain, Seth laid there, unable to move.

 

"Volt...I... cant fool you...I'm down on this one....  I don't know what happen in that dream bubble thing, but whatever did happen, I think I helped you. Not sure how, but I might of. Now do me a favor and save the town for me." I say with a forced smile.

Volt stared to his friend for a while

 

"i.. i know... and for that i owe you my entire life ten times Seth... really... i can't thank you enough for that..."

 

Sighing Volt turned to his machinery

 

"don't move the paw ok? we must immobilize it..."

 

as he spoke he trottted toward the Coils, dodging a bolt, reaching the broken control panel he turned some switches

 

soon the bolts started to reduce dimensions, ten they disappeared, turning a knob over a VAriAC the bolts started raging again, just blue instead of purple, then they disappeared again

 

"damn it! there is no energey left!!! i must turn on the turbines before... horseshit!!!"

As he laid there, he tried to think of anything that could be useful for the situation at paw. A memory of the events before mind-memory-thing passed through his thoughts. "Volt... When you were hit by the bolt... Don't you have any energy from that?..." I call out.

"Yeah.. maybe i still have some.. but i don't know.."

 

Volt said turning around

 

"let's just hope it is enough to switch the polarity before killing me"

 

He placed his hooves over the control panel and taking  a  pipe to grin in his theeth, he then closed his eyes and concentrated all of his energy there, soon his hooves were covered in sparks and smoke, volt started to grind the pipe in his theeth, the blue stream of the coils started to increase more and more, an amperometer on the control board exploded sendin piece of glass in the air

 

"nggh.. not... enough.. energy...."

 

The clouds started to slow down in their furios circular movement as the ions around them dropped their energy; the fron part of the panel caught fire, then Volt was lunched away from it by a bigger explosion in the power transformer

 

Swearing something incomprensible he landed on the groun skratching all of his flank

Seth looked away from the blast, shielding his eyes. After the initial explosion died down, he turned to see if the threat was over. The coils were more than destroyed, and the clouds seemed to be slowing some. The storm was dying out. Giving a weak smile, he turned to Volt, who he just noticed was on the ground near him.

 

"Yes V, it worked. You just became the worlds first pony to no only become a lightning rod...but to return that energy to it's sender." He said with a chuckle, which then turned into a couching fit. "Hey Volt," He asked, after calming back down. "If you don't mind, I might just spend one of my sick days tomorrow." He said. With much effort, he tried to crawl over to where his fried was laying.

Volt, still laying on the ground with his hooves over the protection rail smiled a bit, pushing his own hoof on a very small flame on the tip of his mane

 

"you are such a lazy worker Seth! eheh" he said smiling and without moving an hoof

 

"i bet that those of Cloudsdale would really like to see why there were an unaothorized storm over here.. i think they will like the new look of the dam..."

 

he said looking around at the mess and all the cracks on it

 

"yeah bro.. i think that they owe more than some sick days eh eh... i have a bootle of something nice down in the fridge... if you have a jack to help me get up i will carry it here..."

 

he said letting himself drop on the floor

 

"Luna.. that was an heck of tiring day... and they say that this job is *yawn* boring... thank you mate.. really... i owe you my life again... you are the best friend a pony could dream of... really... i know that it may hurt the memory of your real brother.. but i can consider you easily as a brother of mine.. let's find a way to convince my mind that a pony and a wolf could be born by the same person ahah..ahh.. my spine... so... an hoof of poker? "

Seth slowly smiled at his kin lying on the railing. "Hey Volt, I wouldn't be against us having a poker bash and all...but I really can't feel half my body. The other half...well...hurts like the time I got stabbed in the heart..." He said, resting his head on the cement. "If you don't mind, can we stop by Ponyville general hospital? I thing my...me is broken. I have nothing against your medicine, I just... don't like the laser-rainbow ray..." he said, trying to laugh. "Plus... you could talk up one of the nurses... you just saved the town..."

Seth lifted his paw to meet Volt's. With a weak smile, he nodded. "After everything today, flying is the least of my concerns...you up for the flight? We sort of went through hell... I'm surprised I'm still alive right now. Sure, let's go. Since you owe me, all I ask is that you try to talk to a nurse there."

Seth tried to stand to get on his friends back. "Volt... of all that has happened today... this is the weirdest thing? Me mounting you-you might be right..." he admitted, realizing what he said. After getting on to his back, trying to crush his wings,

He then opened his wings gaining altitude again

 

"well....  take off is easy... landing.. is an issue..."

 

Volt added fast gliding toward the Ponyville city hall

 

"i think we have excessive weight.. we may crash in... oh well after today i can crash even in a ..."

if it weren't for his nearly dead state, Seth would have chocked Volt to death with his grip around his neck. All the time they were in the air, he was yelling at the top of his lungs.

His body was flung against the hard brass, the reverberation was hell to his ears. However, it wasn't much trouble, as he was already out. He fell to the ground, his body limp.

His body hurting ten times more, Seth groggily looked up to Volt.

 

"Volt... you are sooo...dead..." He groaned, unable to defend himself from Volt's pokes. "How.. the hell do...pegasi... take so many...hits?..." he asked. He felt some blood coming off his scull from the head on collision, which only made him wonder why he himself hadn't died already today.

Volt said pretending to wrestle the liying wolf

 

"we are just a bit fragile, but we are agile.. i may not be a good flyer as others, but my mother was an earth pony, so maybe i got a bit of her resilience! ahahh!"

 

Volt placed his hoof around Seth's neck

 

"so are you ready? i can carry you down here if you want... then you can eat me.. sounds good?"

He tried to stand in order for V to pick him up better, but his body denied him at every chance. "You might need to carry me. The guys at the hospital know me... so you should be fine..." he said. He groaned, knowing there was more flying in his future.

Bouncing on it and landing on the ground with Seth over him he got up

 

"WE NEED MORE OF THIS! i may build a giant trampoline under the dam! Now come on! or ponies will think that we are the main members of a circus ahahah!"

"You know I hate heights..." Seth moaned again. "You know... you are one of the most up beat ponies I know..." he said. "We just went through the very meaning of hell and you look like you just came back from a date. What's your secret? Really, I might need it right about now..." He moaned again, his body killing him from the movement.
