Azureth 687 March 25, 2014 Share March 25, 2014 This is something I have heard quite a bit, that Applejack should have gotten the element of loyalty and Rainbow Dash should have gotten the element of honesty. Reasons cited are that Applejack has been better displaying loyalty while Rainbow Dash has been better displaying honesty. There are some videos I have watched that have gone on the subject and wanted to hear your thoughts. I can kinda see where they are going with this. Just look at the second episode when Applejack is holding Twilight from falling and tells her she'll be okay and to trust her and sure enough she is saved. Whereas Rainbow Dash gets the chance to be a part of something she really has wanted but is honest about most everything. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

AJ is all about family values and being the rock of her friends, as she's typically the last to panic when a situation goes awry and she always has the most reasonable lines in scenes she's in. Loyalty, I feel, is more about steadfastness and the ability to hold true to a certain behavior no matter what's happening. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash is one of the groups snarkers, the most overt and honest in calling out the others. Now that's honest, right there. Of course this ultimately depends on how you interpret loyalty and honesty as concepts, and with a different interpretation from mine the girl's current elements make sense. I think their personalities have been switched from their elements, Applejack calling herself "the most loyal and dependable of ponies", then you have Rainbow Dash usually being "brutally honest" pretty often. I agree with one YT guy that it could be broadened to be where Applejack is the element of dependability and Rainbow Dash is the element of Authenticity. PsychedelicPony 440 March 25, 2014 Share March 25, 2014 I think I an see your point, but there has many instances of Rainbow Dash skirting around the truth, while Applejack says it straight up. Also I think Rainbow Dash's loyalty is unquestioned and Applejack's too, but I think Applejack's honesty rises above.
