Aaron and Stahl ran out to the streets. They were empty and were littered with garbage without a sign of life anywhere. "Where... is everybody?" Aaron tried to listen to for something but the rain was not helping. "Ugh, I can't hear a sound with this rain. Stahl, do you have anything?"

Stahl held still. He heard nothing but the rain as well.  Normally he would be hearing bun and cannon fire, and the sound of planes flying all over the place. 

 

Normally such silence would have been welcomed, but instead, it was disturbing.

 

"No, I don't hear a thing, jot even through the rain" He say.

Aaron began to look around, listening through the weather. Until he did hear something. It wasn't the girls that s for sure. It was loud and mechanical. Getting louder as well. Aaron had no idea what it was. But it sounded like rusty metal grinding against each other. Or treads.

"That noise..... that noise is all to familier..." Stahl said. 

 

Then his face was taken by that of absolute horror, as his mind filled with images of fire sweeping trenches, killing all who stand in it's way.

 

"fuck fuck fuck, get down , get out of sight NOW" Stahl says to Aaron.

Aaron hid out of sight with Stahl, as the culprit of the sound came by. It was a tank, and a rather large one at that. It was rusted to hell and like the city, has seen better days. But what was that thing doing here. From what he had seen, Aaron had not seen anything that could lead to the fact that this world had access to such machines. "Where do you think its goind?"

"no clue at all.... tanks like that are useually armed with weapons made for clearing trenches.I have no clue why it would be in the city." He said looking at it.

 

Stahl kept his thoughts mostly to himself. The tank was German, suprisingly, so he watched it from were they hid, looking for an ID number.

Aaro came from his hiding spot and saw the tank turn the corner. Aaron made a motion to Stahl to follow his lead. "Lets see where that thing is heading. Who knows. We might find the girls there." Aaron crept down the streets. Following the metal behemoth was not a hard task.

Stahl foloowed closely, but was sure to keep his distance from Aaron. If they were spotted, it was betteer that one of them be injured, rather than both of them. Or worse, both of them killed.d He was very careful, in his rout, knowing the tanks blind zones and using them

Aaron and Stahl followed the Tank for what seemed like an eternity. Coming across a few close calls, but ultimately they came across something odd. The tank went into a garage and vanished through the arch. The only way to follow it was to go through a decrepit building. Aaron could make out what spelled out "Guard" at some point of where the sign was. Aaron casually walked up to the door and found that it was unlocked. Peaking in, he could see that it was in fact deserted, much like the town. Checking to make sure the coast was clear, he waved Stahl over.

Stahl nodded to Aaron and followed up behind him, running as quietly as he could. He ended up next to Aaron and soon joined him in the building. Stahl seemed quite tense. The sight of a machine of war here, and one as evil as a tank, had shaken him a little.

Aaron and Stahl had entered the guard station. The place was in total disarray. Papers and documents were scattered all over the place with broken windows. The paint was pealing off the walls and there was an odor of decay in the air. Still, it was better than the rain. "Look around. Maybe we can find a map of the place and find the monorail out of here. Maybe a place where we can find the girls."

Stahl gives a nod off as her searches the place for anything useful. Documents, maps, details, blueprints. Any thing and everything that could tell him something, he scanned over and searched for.

 

He needed to find Ditzy,, she was his most important goal.

Aaron looked through the station as well. He found a filing cabinet and inside were various convicts. Most were labeled as war criminal while the some had petty crimes on them. What had gone on around here, didn't matter. He just needed to find a way out and the girls. He went into what he thought was the captains office, and looked through it. On the wall was a map of the station. It wasn't much, but at least they had a layout of the building.

 

 

"Stahl. Can you come in here for a sec. I found something that could help us out. If only a little bit."

Stahl followed Aaron to the map. He looked it over carefully as he set the scrounged up documents on the floor next to himself. It wasnt a big station, but it at least was a respectable size.

 

"So Aaron, any places you would like to go ?" He asked his scientist companion

Aaron looked the thing over and felt that there were two places worth checking out. "Well, I see that the basement would be good and the weapon storage would be nice for you. The basement may have something down there. Maybe whoever worked here, put something down stairs." Aaron looked through the map and saw nothing else other than the offices.

(No long range weapons.)

I'll check weapon storage" Stahl said to Aaron, " And you can check the basement. Keep aware and yell if you need assistance. Same goes for me." He said. He stood up and followed the map to the weapons area. It had a lot of things, batons, shields,  a few knives and a sword or two. But there was one thing that caught his eye. In a trophy like case, was what looked like a french colonial sword, in near prime condition compared to the rest.

Aaron nodded and went to the basement to scout it out. He found the door and began to head downstairs. It was a bit dark, but he was used to the dark areas with his late nights at the lab. Deep in the jail cell, were Trixie and Ditzy. Ditzy was sitting on the bed while Trixie tried to undo the screws with her magic. They heard a sound down the hall and got into the corner of their cells. Aaron walked down the hall and in the corner he could see two figures. They seemed to be moving and he spoke. "Ditzy? Trixie?" The two looked surprised in the darkness. They spoke at the same time. "Aaron?"

"Hey Aaron, you will never beleive what I found in here!" Stahl yells approaching thee bassement stairwell to show aaron the new sword he had. When he did not respond he walked down the steps partially, andd called out his name.

 

"Aaron, you down her? Hello?" He asked.

Aaron began to look over the cell and brought out a screw driver but his efforts to bring the screws off was fruitless dou to some outside force keeping him from doing so. He heard Stahl upstairs calling him over and Aaron looks to the two mares. "You girls wait here, I'll be back for you." He ran back upstairs to meet Stahl. Once he was back upstairs he found him with a sword of sorts. "Hey, by chance did you find a pair of keys. Cause you aint going to believe what I found down there."

"Sadly no, I did not find any keys. But I did, by chance find this." He hefted the swrod up carefully, showing off it's pristine condition and sharp cutting edge, " Quite a find, if I do say so myself" He smiles.

 

"So what do you need keys for, find something interesting ?" He asks.

Aaron began to look around the guard station in search of keys. "Oh. I just found the girls downs stairs in a cell. But, cool sword dude. Can really come in handy. But for now, we need to find the keys to the cells downstairs and find a map or something that can lead us to the monorail."

Stahl's jaw dropped slightly. 

 

"Really you found the, loked in a cell ? Well, I guess it is good we found them. But now we have to figure out were the keys are" He says as he walks ino  a nearby office room, as the map said. He searched the place for keys, but it turned up mostly fruitless.

Aaron helped Stahl look through the station to find some keys. The two couldn't find them anywhere and they were grow more and more frustrated. Aaron went to the map a looked through it again and again. Until they looked through each room at least twice. Except for one place. The dogs den out back. Aaron went to the back door and what he found practically made his heart stop. The entire back was gone. Not just cleared out, but the floor. The back door lead to an endless drop. "Well... that was close."

Stahl heard aaron gasp suddenly.

 

"Hey, Aaron, you all right ?" He asks, half paying attention to searching a pile of rubble, half listening for Aaron's responce. He hoped he was  OK, as he began to feel anger welling up from the lack of a key.

Aaron was regaining his breath after nearly falling into the abyss when walking through the door. "Yeah. I'm just a little...startled is all." He began to look out into the vary world that no longer existed. Gulping at the thought of his endless drop. Looking to the side, he could see a key ring with various shaped keys hanging from a hook on the wall. They were probably the ones he needed. "Fuck... Hey, Stahl. By chance do you have a broom or a really long stick?"
