graphics wise and all that. very nice.

the new dante: totally loathe him.

Old dante is a bit of an ass. cheesy as hell? definately. But thats why I liked him.

The new one is an whining teenager with tortettes. total disgrace. I'd let it slide if they didn't try to BS us and say that he is dante. Why not just make a whole new character for the series instead? or make him some decendant further down the line??

The new Dante and other characters aren't that great, but there is one thing I do like a lot.

The new fighting system(except for the lock-on, sometime's I Don't even know who I am attacking). How you use different weapons and the weapons itself are really cool.

You can swap between all weapons with no problem instead of having just 2 weapons or go to the startmenu to select one.

The only thing wich is anoying in the weapon swap are the pistols. When a Demon is in front of me, I blast him in the face with the shotgun. When I did that, I want to shoot a load of bullets by using Ebony and Ivory but instead I shoot a detonation grenade. But still... the new fighting system is awesome.

I consider the new DmC to be the best game in the franchise. It improved absolutely everything. Dante has far more personality and real motivation to help Vergil and Kat, an amazing voice actor, Kat was a great catalyst to bring out Dante's softer side while being more than just eye-candy (love the scene when Dante tries to get her to surrender to minimize injury as much as possible), the humor is just as amazing as ever but in a completely different way, the gameplay system is vastly improved making it much easier to go from one combo to the next, there's a lot of great thrill with environments that change as you move through them to try and kill/trap Dante, platforming is vastly improved with the slightly more floaty physics and the angel jump, a combat system that's both complex and flashy and while music has pretty much always been a strong point for the series I loved the shift to more industrial and rave music.

So yeah, DmC is absolutely my favorite in the franchise and I really hope they continue with what they had or at least take some notes from how amazing it was. It blows the rest of the series away.

I agree a big part, somehow I don't like the joke's of the new Dante and Vergil has just no honor anymore. it would be cool if kat/cat (I forgot how to write, it's kat in PASBR) could do more then just use computers and make portals.

I finished all the DMC game's, except for part 2 because I somehow don't like that one as much as the others (I'll explain another time) and when I fought Vergil in DMC3 I was Jumping up and down, it felt like I was going insane when I fought him and the thrill! but in the new one, when they rush into eachother and hit each others sword I was like: OMG, Here it come's! but in the rest of the fight I didn't had the same thrill as in DMC3,  somehow. It was cool that vergil used Doppelganger(somehow).

But in part 3 I fought vergil over and over in different difficulties and it kept being awesome but in the new I was done 2 times or something...

Actually Vergil had plenty of honor.

His intentions were good throughout but in the end he made the wrong choice. He never had any evil intent. It wasn't until his conviction he held for many, many years was utterly broken in the final battle that he snapped and went down a very dark path in the DLC. I really hope they continue with this new continuity so we can see what Vergil does with his newfound power. I still don't think he's any kind of evil though, just horribly broken.

Spoiler alert!

He shot a woman in the back... waited until she realized that her baby died... waited until she almost cried... and then he shots her in the head!...

and He didn't give a F*** about anyone who worked for him... and in the end, he acts like kat wasn't there the whole game

He thought he was doing it for the good of everyone, just like everything else he's done. Take note that both the woman and baby were demons that had just tried to kill Dante. Had the baby lived it could have wreaked havoc on the world. He's fighting a war in an attempt to protect the human race, he did what he thought was for the best.

And it's not that he treated Kat like she wasn't there, he just treats her like he would any other human. She was very useful and he admitted that but as he said, humans need to be guided. He thought himself (and Dante) more suited to the job than Mundus. It was a war of succession above all else.

Honestly we could argue whether his actions were honorable or not but the idea that he should have been "honorable" in the first place is kinda fitting him into a mold he obviously doesn't fit into. That doesn't make him a bad character. He acts out of necessity.

Actually, now that I think about it I guess he doesn't necessarily have much honor. I was thinking of good intentions. That's a little different. Still, it worked with his character and I found this Vergil far more enjoyable than the one we know who is kind of a blank slate of a character.

I disagree what you said about the old one but Vergil didn't have to wait for her to realise that her baby died, why not kill her directly after wards so she doesn't have to be sad and then got shot trough the head?

and kat must be cooler 20% cooler(at least)

What's to say the baby wouldn't have gone on a rampage had he killed Lilith first? At least in Lilith's case he could have used the shock of the loss of the baby to keep her from doing anything.

Don't remember if he expected Mundus to react the way he did or not though.

I need to get the new devil may cry, wether its shit or not.

I love the old Dante (DMC 3) he was total badassery. I haven't really play DMC 1 and 2, but I believe I completed DMC 4.

He is one of the greatest video game characters, and has the best quotes.

gun's were much more effective in the old decil may cry.

I nearly use any guns in the re-boot and if I use them the do so little damage.

I liked the reboot one better honestly. He's a little more funny and I've spent more time with him now in DmC and in Playstation All-Stars. But I still like Old Dante.
