Whirl stepped closer to her in order to keep her warm. However the wind had picked up fast. It's vicious chill didn't cease as it had come. 

"Um we should get inside..." He said part of his voice carried off by the breeze.

 

The wind came sharp as knifes as ice shards started to form around buildings

Sapphire looked up, closing her eyes half shut as she pushed the door in. She glanced around the inn, quickly shutting the door behind her and looked over at whirl "Jeeze...there is nobuddy here, well, at least the fire is still going" She said as she walked over, culing into a ball next to it

He picks up a newspaper and gasps "Oh buck! We were suppose to evacuate this scene 4 hours ago?! What the hay?!" Getting frustrated and panicking was what he should do leash but he was way ahead that as he read more down the page. "...ponies please calmly evacuate  to he Crystal empire...all train stations on lock down.....due to disappearance...." He slammed down the news and sighed..."This is great just great!"

Sapphire glanced over at whirl "Well, I guess were going to be stuck here for awhile" She said with a yawn "We might as well go around, ransack what food we can, and try to live longenuff to find out what the hay is going on" She said as her eyes drifted back over to the fire

"How the hay can you think about food right now?! Do you know that we could be killed any moment right now?!...these ponies...or whatever creature they are might come in and just kill us! There are so much of them and just two of us!..." He paced around nervously suddenly feeling furious....

Sapphire looked over at him "well...I was just trying to think ahead, we could hole up in here, see if frozen and whoever else can find out, they might come and ask us for help.." She was coming to tears "I just...I just wanted to be a hero..." She said as she curled back into her ball

"Yeah I did too! and look where that's gotten us?!" He stormed upstairs, chooses a room and slams it for good measure and then flops down on the bed...He knew he cared about her but right now he seemed to care about his life a bit more...

 

Outside the ice began to cover the ground and freeze

Sapphire closed her eyes and started to cry. It wasnt helping that the fire was slowly going out, and that the windows had started to freeze over. She sat there for awhile, before starting to drift off to sleep, wondering if she would live another day, or if she would just die here

Whirl didn't feel any better as he felt terrible blaming Sapphire for so much. She didn't deserve it. He wanted to say he was sorry but he just didn't have the guts to after what he had said. He just slowly drifted off into deep sleep wanting to die right there and now..

10 hours past as the weather became more harsh and there as a bang at the door jolting Whirl awake... He could only here a little bit of the dialogue

 

"Ok..this place seems empty...get all the important stuff then I'll get the TNT.."

Sapphire slowly opening her eyes, she jumped out from were she was sleeping, running over to whirl, her eyes were still read after how much she had cryed, but she was feeling better now "Who is it?" She looked over at whirl as she said this, wondering who would want TNT

Whirl was too nervous that he held her close. "shhh...just don't move so they don't see us" He peered over the balcony where they were to see 3 stallions in fedoras with torches. One a pegusus, one a unicorn and the last an Earth pony. 

 

"I say we just blow the place up!" 

 

"Shut up! There are things here that we aren't suppose to say out loud..."

 

"Well I say we just leave it unharmed so we don't expose the portal.." The Earth Pony rambled on..

 

"SHUT UP!" The other two shouted "We're not suppose to be talking about it! "

Sapphires eyes grew huge. She stayed low to the ground and looked over at whirl "Portal...What the heck are they talking about?" She said with a sigh "Jeeze, this has gotten much worse then I thought" She peaced over at the 3 ponys, wondering why they all looked about the same

Whirl pulled her back quickly from falling

 

"Guys we just gotta wait for the boss"

 

"Yeah yeah... But what about this place?"

 

"We seal it up so nothing can get in"

 

The unicorn does a few gestures then seals the whole building. After the exit in a singly file line

Sapphire looked over "Awww man, what kind of portal are they talking about?!? What a mess!" She said as she walked back over to the fire, poking here and there to see if there was any embers left she could use. She sighed and grabed her scarf, glancing up at whirl and smiling

He looks around and stops at her. "Um...why are you smiling?" He relized that they were locked in with no way out of the inn. His mind was stirring with thoughts of things that could possibly happen to them...."Um..wanna try to get the Crystal Empire?..to safety?" He asked

Sapphire stop smiling "Oh, sorry, Sometimes I just smile randomly..." She said with a sigh as she got up, glancing around the house "Well, we need to get out of here, so we could try smashing the windows, then see if we can find the railroad tracs and follow them, so sure"

All doors had a force field around them. "The doors are not opening!" Whirl said trying to smash the windows and panicking a bit. "Keep it together ....keep it together....." He whispered to himself as he paced around..Wandering into the kitchen, he opened up the fridge and found some soda but otherwise an empty kitchen. "So we're stuck in a place with no exit....and we have like no food left?!"

Sapphire sat down, shrugging "Well, I did say we should go find food, just incase" She said with a yawn "I dont wanna say I told you so, Buttt" She said with a slight smile as she walked over to him and huged him "Well, I guess theres still some time, perhaps theres a hole somewere?"

He blushed and calms down almost instantly. Girls always made him act in another way. "Yeah....yeah I guess" He said hugging her back. Sucking up his gut, he wandered around the hotel with her by his side. Suddenly the power goes as a black is casted over everything. Only moonlight shown through the windows.

Sapphire froze, almost falling over onto whirl. She almost screemed, but she looked over at whirl, who she could barly see. She scooted closer to him "Aw man..." She said as she sighed and shrunk to the ground "I guess were really stuck now..." She closed her eyes and slumped

Whirl got down beside her and pulls out a candle. "Well let's go explore a bit" He couldn't help but shake and shiver a bit. The whole place was dark and spooky..He helped her up slowly. "We'll make it out alive." He promised but he wasn't sure if they really would

Sapphire shiver, wraping her scarf around her as she walked slowly around with him. She walked over to the fireplace, sighing as she looked down at it. There was nothing left, not even a few embers. She glanced over at whirl "So the windows dont work...I dontknow..." She said with a sigh

Whirl hugged her closely as they wander upstairs.."Hello?.." He asked as what followed was silence. "Ok....let's check the rooms for food.." He said looking at the doors. Peering into a closet he found a couple brooms and bucket with a mop.

An hour later they were at room 40 but had found no food of any sort

Sapphire cursed "Well, I think were going to be stuck here for awhile, Theres gotta be a loophole or something aroundhere, maybe a portal or something?" She said, looking over at whirl "I think we should go to the basemint, perhaps theres a tunnel or something from there"

"How do we even get to the basement?" He asked shivering and looks around in the dark. He catches a glimpse of an old elevator. Walking over the old machine was tattered and rusty "Do you think it works?" He asked as he presses a button. It creeks open as hundreds of mice pour out "AHHH!!!" He screamed jumping back
