How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I was with a skype friend, and he told me he was a brony.

So recently, I was at school and I over heard someone singing the My Little Pony theme song. This has  happened lots of times now, and I'm not sure how to react. I'm pretty sure that I'm the only brony at my school, and the people who were singing the song probably found the song from their little sisters. The only  person I've told about me bring a brony was my best friend, not even my parents know about this.

Welcome to the forums,

If you're confused about if you're the only brony at your school, isn't a real problem. I was in dance class and found out that when we were given a free period to do whatever we wanted to do, six of my classmates are brony's. :D

Welcome to the herd!

Unless your school is very small, you aren't alone.  Many closet bronies probably exist, and there may even be some open bronies that you just haven't noticed.  However, I'd suggest you remain a closet brony unless you meet a brony friend.  As for the people singing the MLP song, it could have been girls relieving their childhoods or guys mocking it (did you hear if they were old lyrics?).

Welcome, friend.  For me, I mostly keep my "brony" status silent, b/c if you think about it, its really no one's business to know what I like, as well as avoid "breaking" relationships/friendships, coming out odd, or being called whatever comes to their mind, tbh.

Well, for my school; there is only some like 500 people there... I also forgot to mention, there is one person there who hates show, and he doesn't know I'm a brony. I keep brony status quiet, and never bring the subject up. However my friend that I told has brought the subject up quite a few times, for example the trading cards.

Is that 500 overall, or 500 in a grade/class?  Regardless, I'd imagine there are a couple of bronies, although the smaller the school, the harder it'll be to find them.

Also, is your friend a brony?  He seems quite interested in what you have to say about MLP.

I'm a bit similar to you (because I think I heard someone talking about my little pony at my school) and I try to keep it a secret from mostly everyone I know but my mom caught me watching it on my iPod and now pretty much my entire family knows :(
