Ariel giggled yet again, once more sticking her tongue out and trying to make a hissing sound to imitate Snakie. She was so amused and happy passing the time with the little snake, she had hardly even noticed that they were out of the scary Everfree Forest now; Snakie had certainly helped her cope with being in a frightening, unknown place such as that.

Snakie hissed back playfully. Thunder looked up and saw Fluttershy's cottage. "Look. There's Fluttershy's cottage. Snakie will love being there. Who knows, he may even find another snake friend." Thunder stated as he stopped right in front of the door. Thunder knocked. Five seconds passed and a light yellow pegasus mare opened the door. "Uhm...oh! Hello Thunder and...Princess Celestia." She said bowing. "No need to bow." Celestia stated. "So...what do you need?" Fluttershy asked. "Well...my little daughter Ariel has a pet snake and we were going to go to the Crystal Empire. We were going to drop it off here and come and pick it back up when we're on our way back home." Thunder stated. "Oh! I can look after him." Fluttershy stated. Thunder then turned to Ariel. "Alright Ariel, it's time to give Snakie to Fluttershy. It's okay, she'll take good care of him. Right Fluttershy?" Thunder asked. Fluttershy nodded yes.

Ariel looked back at Snakie, looking a little sad. "I guess this is bye for now, Snakie..." She gave a little sigh, stealing a glance at Fluttershy. The yellow pegasus certainly seemed gentle; she had the look of somepony that was very caring and indeed kind. With that, and Thunder's assurance that Fluttershy was going to take care of Snakie, Ariel trusted that Snakie would be in good hooves. She gave the snake a gentle pat on the head before she would let Fluttershy take him into her care.

Snakie gave a little hug by squeezing around Ariel gently before slithering off of her and around Fluttershy's neck. Thunder backed away from the door. "Thanks Fluttershy." He said. "Your welcome." She said before closing the door. "It's okay Ariel, you'll see him again before the day's over." Thunder stated. "Yeah, we'll be back before we head back to Cloudsdale." Rainbow stated. "Alright, let's fly to the Crystal Empire." Thunder stated as he spread his wings and took to the skies.

Ariel still seemed somewhat sad about saying goodbye to Snakie, but she was comforted by the assurance that she would see the friendly snake again before day's end. She fluttered her wings as they took to the skies to head towards the Crystal Empire, but it was more of an anxious gesture this time. To her, the Crystal Empire was another unknown place, and the unknown tended to make her nervous.

Thunder gently caught Ariel and put her on his back. He then continued to fly, following the train tracks that led to the Crystal Empire. "Maybe we could get Cadence over as well." Thunder thought as he continued to fly. "Shining Armor does a great job at fending foes off, so he'll be able to protect the empire." Thunder thought.

Ariel settled herself comfortably on his back, looking down at the landscape below. It was a curious thing, seeing everything from a bird's-eye view. Surprisingly, heights were one thing that she was never frightened of, even before she gained her wings. She simply liked having such a new perspective from up in the sky, especially since her default perspective on the ground was at a rather low vantage point due to her small size.

Thunder Dash continued to fly. He soon saw some Crystal pillars. "We're close." Thunder stated as he started to descend towards the pillars. Storm, Blitz, Rainbow and Celestia descended with him. "You are really going to like Princess Cadence." Thunder said to Ariel.

Ariel saw the Crystal pillars as well, and stared at them curiously. She was intrigued to see such a structure made out of crystals; but then again, she wasn't surprised. It was the 'Crystal' Empire, after all. The filly then perked her ears at the mention of another princess. "Princess Cadence?" she echoed curiously, tilting her head.

"She's the princess of love and the Crystal Empire. She will totally enjoy you. She loves little foals." Celestia said with a giggle. Thunder landed right at the enterance of the Crystal Empire. "Well...here we are." Thunder stated. He saw some crystalized crystal ponies walking about.

Ariel smiled, thinking that this Cadence sounded like yet another nice pony that she would look forward to meeting. Then when they landed before the entrance to the Crystal Empire, she looked around curiously, her eyes widening when she saw the Crystal Ponies. She sprang up onto her hind legs as if to get a better view, standing on Thunder's back and resting her forelegs gently against his head for the sake of balance. "Daddy! Those ponies look so... shiny and sparkly!" she exclaimed.

"That's because they're crystal ponies. They use the light within them to crystalize themselves. It is a type of magic." Thunder explained as he continued to walk. Two crystal foals ran in between his legs playing tag. Thunder smiled at them as he continued to walk toward the Crystal Castle.

"Crystal Ponies..." she repeated slowly. "Cool!" She found the concept quite fascinating, especially knowing that the Crystal Ponies' appearance was due to their inherent magic, just as the other pony races had their own brand of inherent magic. She glanced briefly at the foals that ran past, but hardly showed interest in them otherwise, even though they seemed to be around her age.

As they were walking past the Crystal heart, a foal happened to use magic and caused a beam to fly straight for Thunder Dash. It hit him, but crystalized him. "Now daddy's a crystal pony." Thunder stated as he continued to walk toward the crystal castle.

Ariel cringed in fright when the beam first hit Thunder, and then she looked at him, opening her mouth to cry out in alarm when she noticed that he didn't seem to be harmed, he just... looked different. He was a Crystal Pony now, just like he said! "Wow!" she exclaimed, patting his now crystallized mane and coat in fascination.

"You like it don't you?" Thunder asked. Suddenly another beam came hurdling towards Ariel. "That's you." Thunder stated as the beam collided with Ariel and crystalized her in an instant. "Ariel! You're a crystal pony just like daddy!" Thunder said happily. Celestia giggled at this.

Ariel yelped, trying to shield herself with her wings when she saw the beam coming at her. But the crystallization was instantaneous and painless, she soon found out. When she got up the courage to open her eyes and look, her eyes widened when she saw herself as a Crystal Pony; her coat was sparkling, as well as her mane and tail, which were suddenly turned from their messy state into an elegant style. "Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed with a little giggle, admiring her new Crystal style.

"Well...how does it feel to be a crystal pony?" Thunder asked as he continued to walk. A beam hurdled toward Rainbow and got her too. "Whoa!" Rainbow yelped when she was hit. "Oh yeah! This is awesome!" She said happily as she continued to walk. "I guess little foals here love to crystalize unsuspecting ponies!" Celestia said with a giggle. Soon, they reached the large castle doors.

"It's so cool!" Ariel said happily, examining one of her small crystal hooves and smiling. She truly was fascinated by the Crystal Ponies, and of course the fact that she was one, temporarily or otherwise. She simply loved the way her now crystalline coat caught the light just perfectly and glimmered so beautifully, not to mention that her mane was no longer such an impossible mess! At least, as far as she could tell without looking in a mirror.

Thunder opened the large doors of the Crystal Castle. There, they saw Cadence with Shining Armor. "Cadence!" Thunder said happily. Cadence looked up. "Why hello there Thunder Dash. It has been a long while. Oh! I see you got crystalized." Cadence said. "Yeah." Thunder stated. Cadence then noticed Ariel on Thunder's back. "Oh? Who's that cute little crystal foal on your back?" Candece asked. "Oh, this is my daughter Ariel. Ariel, this is Cadence, the Princess of the Crystal Empire." Thunder stated.

Ariel looked at Cadence, staring for a few moments before she timidly folded her ears and tried to hide herself. She did manage a tiny smile, however, and somehow she got out a greeting, though it could just barely be heard in her shy voice. "H-Hi, Princess Cadence..."

Cadence came close to Ariel. "It's okay little foal." She said as she went in for a gentle nuzzle. "Cadence is the Princess of Love so she will not harm you." Celestia said as she saw Ariel curled up and timid. Shining Armor looked on. "Tell you what, I can come with you all wherever you go." Cadence stated.

Ariel closed her eyes and cringed the slightest bit, as seemed to be her default reaction to when ponies she didn't know nuzzled her or showed her some affection; as if she still weren't familiar with being shown kindness by other ponies. She slowly opened her eyes after a moment, looking at Cadence once more before glancing back to Celestia. "Princess of Love?" The filly then looked to Cadence again.

"Yes. That's me." Cadence stated as she turned to walk out with them. "Come, let's go outside." Cadence said as she left Shining Armor behind. "I guess the stallion gets no attention." Shining said trying to get attention from the group. "Oh my goodness. Shining Armor." Cadence said.

Ariel glanced back at Shining Armor, staring with her large eyes, before she folded her ears once more. She didn't know what to make of this unknown stallion, and thus seemed to be especially wary of him, trying to even hide herself behind Thunder as well as attempting to use her wings to hide.
