Adachi 772 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 What are the top 5 strongest female characters you can think of? They can be from video games, movies, books, etc. Here's my list. Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) She's saved the universe multiple times, along with her friends, the Sailor Senshi. Although through most of the series, she doesn't have that much physical strength, her endurance, and emotional strength is undeniably strong. Yeah, she cries a lot, but that's because it hurts her so much to see any harm come to those she cares about, or to anyone, really. She was even willing to let Queen Nehilenia kill her, even though she had nothing to do with how she became cursed in the first place. She let her wail on her, nonstop, and even after all that, she healed her and allowed her to start over, before the point she was cursed by the mirror. She has also had to keep fighting, while her friends were being killed, bit by bit. And when against Sailor Galaxia, when Chibi Chibi transformed into a sword and begged Sailor Moon to use it, she refused, because she didn't believe in fighting, because people who fight only end up hurting each other. Virginia Maxwell (Wild Arms 3) She starts off as a simple girl who wants to find adventure. She ends up helping to save the world. She never backed down from anything, instead, always pushing to go forward, and she was the glue that kept her group together. And in the end, she preferred being called an outlaw over fighting her way through guards to try to prove her innocence. Athena Cykes (Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies) Back when her mother was killed, Simon Blackquill found her. Thinking that she was the one who killed her mother, instead of turning her over, he decided to take the fall for the murder. She did her best to convince the Judge that Simon wasn't a murderer, but he still ended up getting the guilty verdict, and going to jail for many years. So, she studied to become a defense attorney, went through years of training, and went through many trials, all in the hopes of one day being able to get the guilty verdict reversed, even though court rooms terrify her. To spend years in a place that seems terrifying, while desperately trying to get a friend free from jail, is the epitome of bravery and emotional strength IMO. Sialeeds (Suikoden V) She ended up ruining her reputation, and sacrificing her life, just so she could help rid the land of corruption. Even forcing herself to fight against her nephew, the prince, who she loved. It must have broke her heart, seeing all her friends, especially Lym, think of her as an enemy. Iris (Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations) Her twin sister, Dahlia, wanted to use Phoenix so she could frame him. But he refused to give back the pendent (which contained deadly poison) which she was going to use to kill someone. Iris offered to take her place, and at first, she was only focused on her mission, so she could keep her sister from getting any more black spots on her soul. But as the months went on, she fell in love with him, and she couldn't bear to go through with it. Later, when she was being framed for murder, she didn't say anything, even though naming her sister as the murderer would've gotten her off the hook. It may be seen as a weak action, but she had a lot of loyalty towards her sister, but also developed a lot of loyalty towards Phoenix. In the end, Phoenix got her cleared of murder charges, and she finally confesses to Phoenix that he was dating her all along, and she loved her sister, but if she had to, she would've killed her to save him. “I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man’s reasoning powers are not above the monkey’s.” — Mark Twain
~StatesTheOblivious~ 1,795 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 Five? Phew, I couldn't come up with that many even if you'd ask for male characters; so many characters from all kinds of stuff... But there's definitely my favorite strong female charcter that I can mention, and I'd even say that no list of strong female characters is complete without her. Ellen Ripley from the Alien movies. In many ways the first "tough" female character in horror/action movies. And the stuff she went through in those movies... Troblems 5,619 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 Lara Croft before 2013 Tomb Raider. Turn off the volume, and she goes back to being a bad ass. I got an extra hour in the ballpit
Dattebayo 2,850 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 I don't particularly like strong independent female leads (SIFLs, as I call them) because they aren't believable (even less believable than males and they are VERY not-believable), but if there was one I had to pick, it would be Ellen Ripley from the Aliens trilogy, because she didn't start out uber bada$$, she had to become bada$$ to survive. ^Click for my Deviant Art^ You truly are the Rosa Parks of not understanding what r34 is. Milky Jade 138 April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 1. Minerva McGonagall. Simply put, she is not keen to lose her temper. She is emotionally invested, like any emotionally strong person would be too, but does not discriminate therefore. She is known to dock house points from her own students if she deems it necessary to do. Her emotional composure has been retained magnificently throughout the first six years, with the only exception of her losing her temper when the Minister ordered a Dementor to kill Barty Crouch Jr. in order to silence him (rather than having him confirm the return of Lord Voldemort to the world). Put even more simply "The door swung open at once. A tall, black-haired witch in emerald-green robes stood there. She had a very stern face and Harry's first thought was that she was not someone to cross." 2-5: I don't really know, my only other suggestions off the top of my head would be exemplars of what constitutes as a definitive lunatic

Minerva McGonagall is amazing, and would make a fine Headmistress. On 4/22/2016 at 6:16 PM, The Nightly Spectre said: One does not ask why The Questioner is awesome. Milky Jade 138 April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 Oh yes. Minerva McGonagall is amazing, and would make a fine Headmistress. Would..... could..... has..... Well, aside for when Dumbledore was dumbledoring around the world and she jumped in (she's deputy headmistress by the way), there's also the time after the battle of hogwarts where she remained headmistress until retirement, so I reckon she must've done a good job She's everything I ever wanted to be

We never really see her in a Headmistress position, but we don't need to. On 4/22/2016 at 6:16 PM, The Nightly Spectre said: One does not ask why The Questioner is awesome. Well, in chamber of secrets and half-blood prince, we do But we still really don't need to see it: she was chosen by Dumbledore as his deputy, and he ought to know what it takes to be a headmaster, and *we* ought to know why she is the best suited for that task. Milky Jade 138 April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 And we do know, it's because she is amazing. She's no Dumbledore, but then, who is? Dumbledore was second to none in wizarding ability, but Minerva ranges in at the top 5.. with Snape and Kingsley, perhaps, and Aberforth. Try to find a flaw in McGonagall. I daresay you won't be able to. She's very.. ideal. Both for me personally as well in the sense that she's a glaring example of what you can achieve if you really want to, how you can be both an ice cold tower of pure logic and still be likeable, not take nonsense from anybody and reject it indiscriminately, and be highly reliable because of all of the aforementioned. What can I really say? Dumbledore.. he admits to have made a few mistakes. I could argue why we might want to take his word for it, but it's not pertinent to the topic of this thread. TL;DR Minerva rules

Shanks 10,816 April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 Applejack: For those that know me you probably already knew this be one of my answers. Applejack had to grow up much faster than most ponies by helping Granny Smith and Big Macintosh run the family farm and raise her younger sister Applebloom after her parents died. Katara (Avatar The Last Airbender): Her mother was killed in the war between the fire nation when she was young and she was eventually separated from her father as she took her journey with Aaang her brother Sokka and the others. She helped hold the group together by often being the voice of reason and helped teach Aang waterbending. Nico Robin (One Piece): Everyone in her entire home island including her mother were murdered by the world government because of their knowledge of how to read these ancient stone tablets which reveal this lost history and Nico Robin spent years being wanted by the world government for having this knowledge they viewed as such a threat. She was captured by the CP9 during the CP9 arc and gave up on her life but was inspired to fight on when her crew busted into CP9 headquarters to rescue her from execution. Raven (DC Comics): As the daughter of the demon lord Trigon Raven struggled for many years to keep her inner darkness under control and spent many years in fear of this prophecy of her father's return. X23 aka Laura Kinney (Marvel Comics): A female clone of Wolverine created in a secret experiment she was trained as an assassin which eventually lead her to Wolvernie and the Xmen. She was eventually reformed and has struggled though succeeded in turning her life around. Rarity Get's Cockroaches

Hue Actually that reminds me, I could make a minor case for Raven from Teen Titans (emotional.. retaining was her theme), but it's kind of beside the point to say "someone once decided that there needs to be an emotionally strong character, that character is raven, I have made a great contribution to this thread with this post"
