Azureth 687 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 Compared to a human pedicure, what does a hooficure entail? I know that being a guy some may see it as gay, but I get a pedicure every month. For one, I am disabled and use my feet for nearly everything, and for another it just feels good, even though I am ever the only guy that goes lol. Ribbonfree 2,384 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 (edited) I would so get that sort of treatment if I had the balls to actually walk into a spa and ask for one lol. A hoof is a giant block of solid keratin, and because it supports the totality of a horse's weight it wears down and becomes less shapely with time (normally it sort of looks like a giant nail). I figure a hooficure is used to maintain the original shape, which might be seen as more natural/attractive? So mares like Fluttershy and Rarity have more shapely hooves than, say, AJ. Of course they all actually look the same because lol animation budget but that's what I think they're going for. Courageous Thunder Dash 7,825 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 A hooficure could be used to restore the hoof to it's original context, after it's been worked. I could imagine ponies having to get hooficures like once a month, or more (like Rarity). Forlong 1,726 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 (edited) "Hooficure" is an unofficial name to actual hoof care, which does work a lot like in the show. Cleaning the hooves and moisturizing them prevents hoof injury and infection.
