Ochre continues petting Melody. "Do you fly very often? Or do you prefer magic? I know that personally I prefer things involving strength as opposed to growing things as an Earth pony."

"Yes...I fly. And ponies all me an alicorn, even if...I'm not a...princess." Melody stated. "But school...was the...*sniffle*...hardest time...of my...life..." Melody said trying her best to hold back the tears and urge to start sobbing again. It was indeed hard for Melody to keep this stuff in.

"Sure." Pacific answered. He started looking around again, trying to find a good hotel. After a bit of searching, he saw one that looked good to him. He pointed to it and said, "how about that one over there? Seems like a good place to stay, at least for the time we're here."

She looked to where he was pointing. "Sure, looks decent enough." Shooting said, turning to walk inside.

 

"Well, this is an interesting city so far." Shooting asked. She checked once more that all her things was with her. 'Check, check, yep, I think I have everything I need.' Shooting thought as she glanced into her bag.

"It really is, even if we haven't seen much of it yet." Pacific said, then walked into the hotel. I wonder how much a room here costs... Hopefully it's not too much. He thought. Even if it costed more than he planned on spending, he could still split the cost with Shooting if they shared a room.

"Yeah, same here.. I just hope it doesn't cost too much for a room." Shooting said. 'I wonder what other hotels I could stay in if this is too much from what I brought. Hopefully this hotel is cheap enough.' Shooting thought. She realized they could just share a room and split the cost but shook the idea out of her head.

"Even if it does cost too much, we can just share a room and split the cost to make things easier." Pacific suggested. "If you want to that is." He added quickly, blushing and feeling like an idiot. Why would you suggest that? You just met her for Chrysalis's sake... He thought to himself.

Shooting started blushing. "Only if we don't have enough money..." Shooting said a little quieter than normal. 'He caught me off-guard with that. I hope it doesn't get to that... Actually, it might help because of splitting the cost of the hotel room.' She thought.

"Yeah, only if we can't afford it." Pacific said. Hopefully I can afford it... It would be nice to have somewhere to be myself while I'm on this trip. He thought. He then started counting his bits, trying to figure out if he would have enough. Well, let's just hope I have enough I guess... He thought.

(I have no idea how much a hotel room would cost honestly, so.... yeah )

"It's a deal then, if we can't afford it, we split it." Shooting said and got her money out too, counting it. 'Ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen...' She thought as she counted. Shooting mentally kept counting until she stopped at twenty. "I only have twenty I can find at the moment. There's probably some at the bottom of my bag." Shooting said.

"Ah... let's not talk about jerks in school. Besides wind magic, do you do anything else? Do you do any birdwatching? I bet being able to attract birds like you did can make for some amazing experiences." Ochre looks over his shoulder to the kitchen. "I'm going to get myself something to drink, but please, keep talking."

"Oh...I attract birds all of the time with my music. She then lit up her horn and made a tune play form the air around her. A bird flew to the window and perched there. Melody used her magic and opened the window. The bird flew over to Melody and perched right in her soft mane.

Red Cedar finally found the hotel he had been looking for, and with that, made his way to the front of the station to find a taxi. Without too much trouble, he was soon at the hotel indicated by the contest, and with a flash of his forms, he soon had a key and was traveling up the elevator towards the room.

Ochre sets about making himself some chocolate milk, adding a bit of extra cream to it. He looks out, and noticing the noontime sun, adds a spritz of whiskey and an icecube to his concoction. The steps towards Melody, and notices the bird. "That," he says, "is absolutely adorable." He takes a seat opposite of Melody so as to not disturb the bird. "Ever accidentally attract a seagull?"

"Oh, I've attracted many types of birds." Melody stated as she cooed the bird who was perched in her mane. "For some reason...birds just like to rest in my mane...probably because it's...so...soft." Melody stated giving the bird a little nuzzle. The bird chirped happily.

The elevator opened, depositing Red Cedar opposite the door to the suite. Opening the door to the room, he immediately marveled at how wide open the common area of the room was, the panoramic views of the city that the height of this floor gave, and, especially, the two other ponies already here. "Oh, Hello!" he said cheerfully.

Ochre looks over to the door, and takes in the view of the newly arrived stallion. "Good day!" he says before walking towards Red Cedar. "You won the competition too I'm guessing?" He extends his hoof out to Red Cedar. "Ochre Dust, and the mare at the couch is Melody Breeze." Ochre inclines his head towards Melody. "Hopefully you didn't have as much trouble finding the place as I did."

Melody shielded herself behind her mane from the new stallion that just walked in and let out a little squeak. She started to quiver lightly as Orchre went to greet the other stallion. She remained sort of curled up until Orchre returned to her presence.

Red smiled to the two of them. "Hi there," he said, shaking Ochre's hoof before waving to the somewhat hiding Melody. "My name's Red Cedar, and, yeah, I won, too." he said with a smile, setting his saddlebags down off to one side. "Once I got my bearings, it wasn't too hard to find. I guess you two have been here a while already? seen any of the sights?"

Melody moved her hoof in a not so enthusiastic wave. She tried to burry her face in her mane so the red stallion won't see her. She let out a little squeak as she tried to curl up. She tried to calm down but the more she tried, the harder it was to keep it together.
