Mr. Critical

Recommended Posts

In a stone cell of a kingdom no earthly man has ever seen, lay two humans. Unconscious and imprisoned on this cell. Not knowing that they were in another world entirely. The only thing that was in the cell was a small hole for the sun to seep through and at times rain for drinking. Time passed and one of them awoken from his slumber. Getting up and trying to regain full consciousness, he could feel something alien on his neck, he gave it a prod and had no memory of what it could be.

@@Mr. Critical,

The female lying next to him was slow to wake, and did so with a shiver as she became conscious of the texture of the stone beneath her. She slowly sat up, holding a hand to her head as she let out a soft groan. It took a few minutes more for her to realize an unfamiliar weight around her neck, which she quickly grasped with both hands. Whatever it was, it was solid, unyielding. After deciding that the thing was stuck to her, she looked around to survey her immediate surroundings; which were, of course, the stone walls of the cell. She noticed the other male, but kept her silence. She didn't know how to greet him, or even if she should.

@@Miss Reaper,

Looking around, he saw something peculiar. A cell mate and she had something odd on her neck as well. They were both trapped in the room so he could see that she was no immediate  threat to him. He held his hand up to greet her. His voice was rough due to his dry throat. "H-... Hi." He didn't know if she could understand her or not, what he did want to know was where they were. "Ca-... can you understand me?"

@@Mr. Critical,

She looked at him with almost a deer-in-headlights look when he spoke to her. Slowly, she mimicked the action of raising one hand in greeting; monkey see, monkey do. At first, she seemed hesitant to respond, but she did nod her head to the question of whether she understood him. "Hi..." she said finally, her own voice slightly raspy and quiet.

He smiled that his cell mate was literate and could speak. Though, her voice was as raspy as his own. He looked around and saw no sink in sight. He gave a sigh and sat down waiting for something to happen. He looked over to the lady she was wearing rags and so was he. Luckily their new clothes covered them so that nothing personal shows. "I-... I-..." He tried to clear his throat a bit. "My name... is A-Aaron."

@@Mr. Critical,

She swallowed, hoping that would help to ease the dryness in her throat somewhat as she spoke again. "I-I'm Katherine..." She quickly glanced around at their surroundings once more. There was hardly anything for them there. Just four stone walls, and a hole that let a little bit of light in. She didn't even remember why or how they were even here to begin with; she had hardly any memory of events immediately prior to her waking up just now, and she doubted that her cell mate knew any more than she did. With a sigh, she sat and leaned back against the cold wall, unsure what else there was to do in this kind of situation.

Aaron nodded to her and gave a weak smile. He sat next to her, but kept his distance. They waited for a while until something happened. One of the walls opened to reveal a man made of metal. It began to make a noise but it was too inaudible to make out. Aaron was too weak to be scared as it grabbed him by the arm and another grabbed Katherine. They dragged them out of the room to god knows where. Within a matter of minutes, they were taken to another group of guards and they opened a set of doors and they were placed into another room. There were holes on the walls. Before they could even wonder what they were, they were immediately greeted by a shower.

@@Mr. Critical,

She barely had the strength to react to the appearance of the metal man; her innate curiosity had started leading her to wonder how exactly this man could even be made of metal, but the line of thought was interrupted when she was grabbed by its fellow. Even if she had had her full strength, she doubted she could have struggled out of its grasp anyway, being on the small side for a female her age and admittedly not as fit as she could have been.

So all she could do was let herself be dragged around and put into another room alongside Aaron. Having hardly even noticed the holes in the walls, she was all the more surprised when the water hit her. She let out a soft squeak as she cringed from the water - her voice often did produce such a sound whenever she was startled or surprised; a thing out of her control that she found to be embarrassing at times, though that hardly mattered at the moment.

(Sorry for my absence.)

Aaron began to wash himself off. He didn't care that he was still clothed. Mostly because he didn't want to strip in front of Katherine. She was the closest thing to a companion he had and he didn't want to make things awkward between them. Opening his mouth, he took a few gulps of water until he was satisfied. Once he was done cleaning and filling his fill of water, he awaited for Katherine to finish her thing. Plus, with the water, Aaron could feel strength returning.
