"Ah thats good. I've tried assisting in getting her to come out of her state of mind. But to no avail. I was hoping that other human could help with her state of mind. But, her eating and motor skills still work so one of us is getting through to her." She takes another sip of her drink. "I remember her back when I was known as Luna. She was so shy. Literally afraid of her own shadow. But when the chips were down, she would stare a dragon in the eyes and make him cry. But even then, she was always so kind and sweet."

"Yea she seemed kind and sweet before all this started and we were brought here to help. How can people be so cruel to someone like her? I can't understand it." My voice shifted to a darker tone. "But may who ever did this to her be forever forgotten by everyone."  I regained a lighter tone after muttering that curse.  

 

I thought up a glass of wine and one appeared, I raised it up and said, "To better times."

[Mr. Critical 434]

Nightmare joins him in raising her glass. "To better times, indeed." She downs her drink and sets the empty glass on the table. "I may not know how many male ponies or minotaurs had their way with the poor dear, but what's done is done. All you can do is fix the damage and... tell the other human to keep doing what he's doing, whatever that is."

"Yes you are correct, we can only keep it from worsening, and yes I will tell Aaron what you said." I smiled again. "I'm glad we met even if you seemed like you were trying to seduce me and scare me at the same time." Hell mentally I had to admit she looked beautiful and every stride she took had a grace to it, how anyone could just throw her to the side is anyone's guess. (gonna sleep now)

Giving an approving nod, Nightmare snapped her fingers as John was brought out of his dream to the waking world. Outside, he could hear some rustling from the sacks, but it wasn't a wild animal. It was only Twilight going through her things, looking for something.

I got up and yawned, hearing the rustling I stood up and walked outside the tent, to see Twilight looking for something, "Good morning Twilight, what are you searching for and anything I can do to help?" I asked curious like always, and what can I do to help?

She quickly turned back. "O-Oh. I'm just... looking for something. There's no need to assist me." She smiled as she looked int he bag and pulled something out and held it close for a few seconds. "Its fine. Just go back to bed and rest. We have a while before this storm lets up."

I walked back to the tent and took a glance towards Twilight before entering my tent and sitting down not at all tired after waking up. So I listened in to see if I could hear anything to tell me about what Twilight found, or was actually looking for.

Twilight saw John leave her presence as she took out a photo from her being. It was old and tattered from her looking at it so much and being dragged around in her bag for so long. But none the less, the image was still clear. It was her as a child with a smile on her face with supposedly her parents and a white unicorn standing over her in a loving pose with her sister. They all looked happy together and the memories brought a smile to her face which was followed by more tears and eventually crying. Aaron could hear the commotion outside but he would let John take care of it if he desired to.

I listened to Twilight cry for a moment before I walked out of my tent and over to her. Not able to standby and just listen something in me just demanding I comfort her. Now I was next to her, "I heard your crying, whats wrong?" I said concern evident in my voice.

Twilight looks over to John. Her face was covered in tears and trails of them showed on her coat and muzzle. "I-... I'm scared John. I haven't seen my brother in so long... I haven't any word back from him in almost two years. I don't know if he's dead, alive, captured, or worse. And not knowing... it tearing me apart." Twi starts shaking in fear. Terrible thoughts of what has happened to her brother plagues her mind.

"Like, I have said before, I will do everything I can to help find your brother and step sister. This I promise, Aaron and I are here to help if this will put your mind at ease then we will do it. We all need to be at our full ability, and if this lets you operate with your full potential then it is the best course of action." A part of me wanted to say 'You look much more beautiful with a smile.' and that part was growing with the continuous conflicts that brought us closer together.

Without warning, Twilight took him into a hug and cried onto his shoulder. He could feel her shake in utter fear as her tears soaked his clothes. She didn't say anything to him, nor did she look at him. She just sat there, crying her eyes out to get her pain out and in the open.

I returned the hug and swayed her side to side to help calm her not saying a word just, letting Twilight let out every bottled up emotion. One hand even gently brushed her mane/hair, in further attempt to calm her. Weather this was deliberate or some part of me that loved Twilight acting was unknown to me, but I did not care.

Twilight balled into John's shoulder throughout the night, eventually losing consciousness on his shoulder. She was grateful for him to help her in this time of need, the thought of her brother and sister in law in such an awful position was something she found heart wrenching. Hours passed as soon morning came through the sheet of snow and clear skies. The storm had passed and gave the group a clear path to the crystal empire.

I slept as well, and later woke up. Noticing Twilight was on me the memories of the previous night came back to me, still I was blushing at the fact she was on me. I gently shook her, and said, "Twilight the storm seems to have cleared, and it's morning wake up." my voice was at a whisper but being in this close of proximity I figured she could hear me.

Twilight began to stir in her sleep. She slowly got up from her friend and yawned. "Mmm, hi John." She stretched out her arms and got to her hooves and looked outside, the white sheet of snow was somewhat comforting. "John, can you get Aaron while I get some food for us."

I got up myself and walked over to our tent and, nudged Aaron with my foot, "Wake up dude, it is calm outside and according to Twilight we are pretty damn close to the Crystal Empire." With that I expected him to wake up soon if not I could try again. I walked out of the tent to see indeed Twilight was getting ready to cook something. (by the way what is twilight wearing you never really described it.)

Aaron slowly arose from his sleep, his mind groggy and too tired to think straight. "Oh. Okay. get out of the tent so I can get my clothes on." He reached over and grabbed his clothes. He was really hoping for some new ones though. One man can go oh so long wearing the same pair of underwear.

(Its okay and thanks for telling me.) (also im just going with Twilight is cooking or heating something up for the sake of it)

 

I rolled my eyes, "Aaron I'm not in the tent." I focused my attention to what Twilight was preparing, and sat in font of the fire enjoying the warmth, "What you making there Twilight?"

Twilight looked up to John. "Making some beans. I'm not exactly the cook that Aaron is, but I can make something for us to eat." She said as Aaron realized he was not in the tents, forcing him to dig into his sleeping bag to cover his nude form the girls. "You and Aaron can sit where ever, I'll have it ready in a few."

"Sounds good to me." I looked over at Aaron to see his antics, and raised an eyebrow "Damn Aaron stop trying to show off the day just started." I could not contain my self after that it started with a smile and then laughing at Aarons blunder, laughing was something else that I found that I would appreciate much more now.

"I'm not... showing off." He popped his head out of the sleeping bag. "Its a habit for me... for me to sleep in the nude." He finally got out of the bag, stretching a bit and went over to check on how Fluttershy was doing. She was sitting up and looked over to him as he approached, smiling as he saw her reaction. Not a major reaction but a reaction none the less.

I shrugged, not actually wanting to know that. "Dude that was way too much information, I'll make sure to sleep a bit further away from you tomorrow night, anyway that aside. lets eat and get this trek over with, the times I wish I could have a good old car, hell a ATV with some extra gas would do." I said as I let myself think back on Earth.

Aaron brought a bowl over to Fluttershy as John said he would sleep further away from him the next time they sleep. He didn't care much for it regardless, he was taking care of the butter yellow pegasus at the moment. A while later, they had eaten Twilight's food and were ready to get going when ever they wanted.
