As John tackled the belly of the nearest creature, his arm went through it, covering it in with a thick green ooze that Aaron assumed was its blood. The same creature looked unfazed and tried to scratch at John but found it difficult to do so. Aaron and Twilight bolted for the way out, jumping over John but was met with a massive hoard of the beings. Backing away, Aaron could feel the sensation of fear growing. "Well, this looks like the end. Eaten by insect zombies. Go figure." As they grew closer, a magority of them fell to the ground, severed in half. Landing in front of them was a pony weilding a massive bow staff with a bladed edge on it. The mare swung it around and began to chop and slice away at them. Even splitting the one assualting John in half vertically. "Ya'll git goin! I'll take care o' these things. Go! Now!" They couldn't see her that well, but she had a southern accent. Twilight and Aaron didnt argue with her.

I did not hear the pony as I fought the insect, watching blood gush out of the thing from the wounds I inflicted, and I was not feeling any injury, so after dodging an attack, I instead went at the creatures neck and slashed it as it reared its head. The last thing It let out was a gurgling before it died.

The mare picked up John and brought him to his feet. "Defend yurself." She hands him a small crossbow and takes a few more slices with her bladed bow-staff. "If ya want to survive, shoot them in the head. Or just remove it all together." The mare sliced upward and split another one in half, creating a perfect vertical slice through its body. "Come on, I can't do this on my own." She brought out another cross-bow and shot one in the eye, traveling through its skull and into another one behind it.

I load the bolt and shoot it at a bugs head, the bolt hit and penetrated it killing the thing instantly I loaded another and killed another, continuing this process until I ran out of bolts, I hung the crossbow on my back, I then proceeded to use my knife to slice open their necks. Running only on adrenaline and reflex.

 

 But as I went on I collected multiple cuts from being attacked by more than one and my fatigue finally showing up, as the adrenaline started to run thin.

The mare took down a few more of them but saw John getting tired and scratched pretty badly. She sighed and put her arm around him and brought her to her voluptuous figure. She loaded a special bolt with a rope firing it into the trees and propelled herself and him into the trees. Bringing out a small glass bottle, she threw it and there was a flurry of loud noise and lights. Plus, the sound of the creatures screeching at the sounds. The bright lights revealed the forest and there was thousands of them, massing where they were. The mare saw Aaron and Twilight running away from the creatures. "Lets git. I know of a safe place."

I had a slight case of embarrassment due to having to be carried like a child but I knew it was necessary. We went through a lot of forest eventually though I blacked out from being so tired. Unfortunately Images of my life prior to this flashed through my head, along with an image of some creature with a crown. Whom I assumed to be Tirek.

As john fell unconscious the mare took him into her arms and sped through the trees, avoiding the creatures as best to her ability. With in an hour, she had reached a safe haven. A place that could keep the beasts at bay. The mare placed john in a bed and awaited for him to awaken. All the while, Twilight and Aaron wandered through the forest, looking for john and a way out of the ever free.

(I won't post too often for a little bit due to life.)

 

I woke up to find myself on a bed, my vision blurred due to just waking up, I waited for my vision to clear before I sat up with some difficulty due to my slightly more serious injuries. I took a look around to find that Aaron and Twilight were nowhere to be seen, but I did see that one mare that gave me the crossbow and helped me fight the creatures. I reminded myself to thank her later and made my first attempt to stand, I quickly found out that I couldn't stay up for long when my legs protested in pain and I realized that I would be here for a while.

The mare opened her eyes from her nap due to hearing John's bed creak. She looked over and placed her hand on the bandages she placed on his chest. "Easy there par'ner. You took a heck of a beating out there." She gets up and goes out of the room, coming back a bit later with a glass of cold water. "Here. You must be thirsty. Name's Applejack by the way. Nice to meet you."

I take the glass of water and drink , "Thanks Applejack, my names Johnathan, just call me John. Nice to met you as well." I sat up, "I should thank you for the help back there, I don't think I would have lasted too long with just my knife. One question how did you find me?"

Applejack gave a smile. "One o' ya had this doohickey with that made a light on it. I saw it in the darkness and followed to find you three when one o' ya'll made a noise and stirred the changelings." SHe took the glass when he had finished. "If ah didnt know any better, ah'd say one o' ya'll was my old friend Twi. But thats not possible. She was captured a long time ago."

I almost did a spit take of extreme proportions, "Dose this 'Twi' by any chance have lavender fur, with a lavender mane and tail with a pink streak in the middle, and goes by the name Twilight Sparkle? Because she is the one that summoned another human and myself here to help her find her friends that she believes were captured." I took a breath and started flexing my arms a little the pain not too bad.

Applejack stood up in surprise. "Well, slap mah flank and call me bessy. Why didn't I see it before. Ah knew that mare couldn't be contained. John, ah'm mighty glad I met ya. Do you think you can help me find her. Ah want to get to her before the changelings do... or the forest itself."

I nodded, "Yea I can help, just let me get up, and find my things and we'll be off." I got up but this time the pain was bearable and saw that my knife and newly acquired crossbow were sitting on a table. I just put them on their proper places and said. "I'm ready when you are Applejack, if I'm right they will be in a cave or near a water source."

"Then lets be off, sugarcube. We gotta find them before somethin' else gets to 'em." With that said, the two ventured forth, leaping from tree to tree with graceful maneuvers. Applejack making sure not to leave John behind. The two kept looking for Aaron and Twilight. Hours passed but all seemed lost. "Ya find anything yet?"

I shook my head, "No, not yet, lets continue and hope that if we can't see them another predator can't see them." I continued on when I caught a glimpse of a fire. "Applejack come here, I believe I found something." I said pointing at the fire flickering in the distance.

AJ looks over to where he pointed and smirked. "Good eye on ya, Sugarcube. Lets check it out." The two changed their trajectory and made their way to the light. Twilight and Aaron were sitting by the fire, silent and unnerved. Twilight had removed her prosthetic hoof and began to tinker with it. Fixing the hydraulics in the four toes and keeping the parts able to move. Out of the trees dropped a sight for sore eyes. Applejack and John. Aj saw Twilight and her face turned to shock and so did Twilight. "Twi... i-is that..." twilight put her hoof back onto her leg and stood up. "Y-Yeah... Its me AJ." AJ was the one who brought Twilight into a large bear hug, both girls beginning to sob into each others arms. Aaron walks over to John. "Hey, I see that you found one of them. Nice work man. Ya did good."

I laughed, "You got it wrong, she found me, when I was fighting those insects and even helped kill some off as well. Not to mention she bailed my ass out when I was tired from the fighting, so how have you two held up so far?" I asked to get an idea of what they had to deal with while I was away.

Aaron and John sat at the opposite end of where AJ and Twilight sat. The two were whispering to themselves of the past year. Aaron began to speak with John. "Well, after we lost you, we had a few close calls. Something called a manticore attacked but we managed to outmaneuver it. A few more of those things attacked again, but were taken care of. Also..." Aaron looked around. "I've been hearing... voices. Twilight cant hear them, but... it echoes through the trees. Its kind of creepy."

I looked at Aaron, "Well this place is all kinds of fucked up, so all I can ask is what have the voices said to you because I haven't been hearing any so far." I chuckled, "Hell, the fact that we got randomly selected for this is fucked up in itself, hell if the spell was smarter it would have found some special forces dudes to help."

"That may be true, my friend. But, from what Twilight has told me, it was just meant to bring forth the most dangerous species in existence here. I.E. Us. Though, it didnt specify on what kind of human it was supposed to grab. And, the voices have just been teasing me. With some small cackling here and there. She seems rather excited that we are still alive. She sounds cold but at the same time, rather loving and motherly. ITs hard to explain."

I sighed, "For now keep track of the voice and what it says, and lets just help these ponies defeat this Tirek guy and we can go home. That brings another question I don't believe I know where on Earth your from, mind to share?" I asked curious of my new friends home on Earth.

The girls continued to converse and aaron decided he would do the same. "I'm from El Paso Texas. I'm a thief and damn good one at that. I get bored easily and thought myself the art of deception. I dont use it often, though it is quite handy against bullies. They beat me up, they lose whatever was in their pockets. And what of you? Where do you come from?"

"Me, I'm from Louisville, Kentucky. I was studying for a college exam when I was pulled through, I have limited fighting skills and did some parkor for a year before the whole college thing tackled me and forced me to lessen those activities. Luckily for me it seems my few skills have been put to good use." I replied with my arms behind my head, and a smile on my face at the thought of home.

Aaron let out a chuckle. "Indeed it has. IT seems our skills will be put to the test." Aaron could hear more of the whispers and then the voice. _{"Come to me."} Aaron dug in his ear and loosened some of the ear wax. "Um... so. Do you think... that... maybe... those two are... kind of... cute?"
