I awkwardly scratched my head thinking back to when I hugged Twilight., "... To be honest... I... I have to say y-yes they are...  kinda cute." I take a deep breath. "But why do you ask?" When I said this I glanced over to the two Mares hoping thy did not just hear us say what we just did.

[Mr. Critical 434]

"Well, I admit, I haven't had much luck with human females. Plus... I'm looking at the possibility that we may not be leaving this world. So, might as well keep my options open." Aaron could hear the voice once more. _{"stay with me... forever."} Aaron looked over to the two ladies talking to themselves. Smiling at how happy they looked. "Its just a random thought is all."

"Sounds good to keep the possibility in mind but I'll cross that bridge once I get there and as a wise man once said to me 'hope for the best and prepare for the worst.' Its served me well so far." I smile at the memory. 

 

My thoughts yet again drift to me hugging Twilight and I blushed, quickly shaking out the line of thought.

"Yeah. Lets hope that the worst has already come." Twilight and AJ turned to the two humans. AJ was the one to speak. "So, Guess ahm helpin' ya'll out. So, where are ya headin'?" Aaron looked to Applejack. "Baltimare." Her eyes narrowed as her pupils shrank to that of pins. "Whoo nelly. I'm... I'm afraid I cant help you there." Twilight looked confused. "Why not?" "Baltimare is a hellhole of misery and pain." Aaron shrugged his shoulders. "Well, it cant be that bad?" AJ looked to him with a deadpanned look. "Minotaur. Rape dungeon." Aaron shivered lightly at the thought. "But, that's not even the worse part... its... its just so much more horrid."

I flinched at the thought, "If we are gonna go to this Baltimare..." I said the word disgusted, that it was even similarly named to a location in the US. "We should get weapons and some armor so we can claim to be some freelance mercenaries, it would provide some type of income and reduce the chance of misfortune befalling us. Also we may want to find some of the bars that the guard commonly go to so we can gather information on troop movement or locations of your friends as well."

 

As I said the words I was surprised that I formulated a coherent plan.

[Mr. Critical 434]

"Ah already know who is being kept there. Poor Fluttershy. Ah'd never wanted her to see the world like this. But to be put in one of the most dangerous places in Equestria. Ah only hope she is alright." Twilight places her hoof on her shoulder. "We know. I found the information about three months ago. John, that is a fantastic plan. Aaron, I heard that you were a thief, do you think you can get us the information?" Aaron nodded. "Of course. I just need a distraction, then I can make a grab quite easily. I just need to know where and what I'm looking for."

I look at John and smile a smile that says "I have a stupid idea but trust me, it just might work."

 

"Guys, I might be able to provide a distraction, but I'll need a empty beer bottle, and Twilight how well can you fake crying? Why you may ask, its because Twilight your going to have to pretend that you are my girlfriend and got hit by some random dude."

 

My smile gets to the point it is wolfish.

"Of course. I've taught myself a number of skills in my time wandering the country. Crying is one of them." AJ gave a smirk. 'Heh, ah can see that you two are peas of a same pod. Okay, John, I can see where this going. John starts up a bar fight while Aaron here goes in all stealthily like." Aaron thought this plan could work out. If nothing went wrong of course. "Okay, we should make haste then. Applejack, it was a pleasure meeting you." SHe tipped her hat to Aaron. "Twilight, John. Shall we be off then. The less time we waste, the more time we have to act."

I looked at the group and said, "Yea I'm ready, lets be on our way. Also Twilight how far is Baltimare from here, you know?"

 

I was a bit excited at the fact that this idea may work, I was a bit shy due to the nature of the role Twilight and I would be playing.

AJ was the one to answer John's question. "Its a bit of a trek. You could get there faster if you could get on a train. But, if ya'll are goin' by hoof, its about four or five days walk. But, you could get there in a day by train." Twilight began to ponder this. "Well, I guess a train could function better. We already crashed the one Trixie gave us." AJ looked in realization. "Was that what that was? Ah thought the changelings killed another Manticore." Aaron and Twilight stood up and stretched. Aaron held out a hand to shake. "It was nice meeting you AJ." SHe took his hand and brought him into a hug. "Ah. No need for formalities. We're friends here." The hug was eventually broken as Twilight and Aaron began their trek. AJ looked to John. "Oh, and John. Twi likes the smart an' kind stallions." She shot him a wink and made her way back to her home. Leaving the three to their journey.

I blush at Applejacks words and quickly gain back control of myself, noticing I was running behind I quickly caught up with Aaron and Twilight. I let my mind do its own thing as we walk, a few times my mind decided to go a bit too far and I quickly pulled it out of said thoughts.

 

"This will be one interesting adventure." I mutter to myself.

[Mr. Critical 434]

Time passed as the three traveled through the everfree. After a long and dangerous journey, they made it out and found themselves in a wide open field. The grass was green as can be and there was a blue sky to compliment it perfectly. So much so, it would be difficult to say that the place had gone down under. The three found the tracks soon after exiting and began following them. Twilight took the lead as John followed. But, Aaron noticed two things. One, the voice that had started speaking to him stopped as he left the forest. 

Second was that he could see some buildings in the distance. "Twilight. You see that town coming up?" Twilight nodded as her prosthetic clinked against the tracks. "I do. We should be able to stop there and hop onto a train. Plus, we've been walking for a while. We can probably rest a bit. Maybe find a map. I lost mine in the escape from ponyville. Also, I have to pee. Like really bad." Aaron nodded in agreement. "Yeah. I think a bathroom break would benefit us all. John, you need anything while we're stopping?"

"A bathroom break and a little relaxation, sounds nice but besides that I don't need anything although, I'll search around and see if I can find a way to gain some money, an odd job perhaps. Also I want to see if I can find a smith, I have a question for them."I replied

"Sure. We can take a bathroom break and find a train." Aaron was relieved that the voice was gone. It took three hours to get to the small town. Once there, Twilight put her cloak back on. Hiding her face from other ponies. Aaron and John walked the streets and he could see various soldiers. Minotaurs standing tall in their silver armor, looking over the crowds. In the skies, some gryphons flew over head. A minotaur came close to the three and aaron managed to swipe his coin purse without his knowledge. It was rather easy since they keep them tied to their belts and in a massive crowd. "Alright. White Wash." Aaron pointed to Twilight. "You go to the bathroom, we'll wait here and we can get some train tickets."

While we walked I saw the Blacksmith shop. "Aaron, I saw the Blacksmith shop as we were walking, I'm going to stop by to ask the Smith there a few questions. Don't worry though I'll be back." I Made my way through the streets until I relocated the Blacksmith. I entered the building and was greeted by a Minotaur hammering away at what looked like steel.

The minotaur stopped to look at John with curiosity and a few seconds after he went back to hammering the steel. "Can I help you?" HE said in a gruff tone and continued hammering away. Not even making eye contact with him. "Either speak up, buy something or get out. This isn't a hangout spot for deformed, balding earth ponies."

"Yes I have a question.  If I got a hold of Changeling chitin plates would it be possible for you to create armor out of them? If it is please tell me and the next time I get some I will come to you to get said armor forged." I asked not wasting a breath on pleasantries.

The minotaur looked up in confusion. "Aye. You can make armor from a changeling hide. But they are so hard to come by and if its not done properly, the armor is about as stable as putting copy paper around your body. If you have some, can make it. Though, the process will take time and bits. If you cant pay, I'd be more than happy to sell it to another buyer. Chanegling armor is hard to come by my friend. I could fetch quite the coin for it if you dont feel like paying."

"Okay I only asked because I ran in some changeling's in the Everfree and the chitin seemed like it could make some good armor. But thanks for answering, you'll be the first one I goto once I acquire some chitin." I walked away my curiosity satisfied. I looked for Aaron and Twilight while walking the streets.

The blacksmith gave a chuckle as he left. "Dumb kid. Gonna get himself killed." As John looked for Aaron and Twilight, Aaron was waiting by an outhouse with a feminine equine on the door. Patiently waiting for Twilight to finish her business. He dared not listen in. He was a thief, not a per-... well he was, but he had standards. In the distance, he could see John wandering the crowds. Aaron raised his hand and tried to wave him down.

I saw Aaron and walked towards him, "Aaron, you know the bugs that I fought their known to the locals as Changeling's and If we get their chitin next time we have to fight them, I found a smith in town that could make us some armor out of it, and any extra he will buy for a decent price because for obvious reasons it is hard to come by their chitin."

"Wait. Wait. Are you telling me you want to go back in that place... to kill zombies and take their flesh?" Twilight could hear them talking. "Whats going on?" "John wants to go back into the forest." "Is he insane. I'm not going back there. We almost died in there. Besides, we're trying to save my friends." Aaron shrugged. "Well... if you know you can get them, I suppose I can help you. I cant keep stealing our money off of people. Well... yes I can. Its a few hours hike back in. I suggest we wait a while before we head out there if you desire." A flush could be heard in the outhouse as out came Twilight. Adjusting her hood and cloak. "Actually, I'd rather not lose Equestria's last hope on some bugs."

My hand meets my face. "I'm not fucking suicidal i'm not facing them again with just a knife and a crossbow with no bolts just something to keep in mind if we have to fight them again, nothing more." I said knowing how they could come to the conclusion but still annoyed none the less, about the conclusion

"Oh. Well. Okay then. Looks like I wont be losing my heroes." Twilight rejoined John and Aaron as they made their way to the train station. On the way they saw various sites the little desert town had to offer. Twilight says she visited the place long ago, when her friend left home to join a cherry orchard. Speaking of which, they passed by and it looked rather intact. They could see a mare with luscious cherry red hair and a cream colored coat. She waved to them and they all waved back. Its odd how such friendliness could still exist. In the distance, they could see the train station. Aaron was the first to point it out. "Hey, I see the train station. Lets get some tickets and get out of here."

I nod, "Yea lets get out this over with." I quickly follow wanting to get this phase of the trip over with so they can find this Fluttershy and get out of Manehatten fast. I looked around for any unwanted friends, disguising my movements as every day actions.
