Aaron gets in line. Twilight looks around and sees a small cafe. She licks her lips and tugs John's shirt. "Hey, lets get something to drink. Aaron, you want anything?" Aaron nodded. "Some Lemonade please." Twilight mentally took that down and looked to John. "Come on. We're in the desert, we should get something to keep us hydrated."

(sorry got tired last night and slept.) 

 

I stopped looking around and looked at Twilight, "I'll just have some water if you don't mind" I resumed looking around and listening to conversations, gathering general tidbits of information like where the general store was located and such.

As Twilight and John got their beverages, Aaron was in line for getting their tickets. While there could see a train coming in. Though, seeing it, he could tell that it was not a normal train. Once it docked, all the ponies seemed to look away as it came in. Staring a the ground. Once it docked, the car doors opened as a small group of Minotaur soldiers came out. And one of them had an aura of menace about it. He was a pony. Though his body was a form of mineral. Maybe some kind of Obsidian. Its body was jagged and sharp, looking around with a scull with hollowed out eyes. And in its clawed hands, it held a piece of paper, raising it up to show them. A minotaur came over to speak. "Subjects, we are looking for the outlawed royal and will be conducting searches of homes in and around the area. If anypony knows of the whereabouts of this criminal, we ask that you turn her over. Anypony who does so will be handsomely rewarded." Aaron looked at the page in confusion. One of the minotaur's saw Aaron. "The fuck you looking at?" Aaron got back to looking at the line.

Twilight and I entered a small resturaunt by the name Grease Pan's Hayburgers and Fries. It was nothing special kinda like the old diners back on Earth.

 

We ordered our drinks and minutes later received them. All the while my mind tools its own course. I looked around and saw some stallions and a few mares eye Twilight, it was that look when you see a hot girl pass and your eyes find the more pleasant parts of their figure but worse, it was as if they were striping her with their eyes, and if they could, they would do it right then and there. It scared the hell out of me. I whispered in Twilight's ear, "Let's get our drinks and get out of here." I did not bother to check if any were eyeing me like that.

Aaron had acquired the train tickets as the soldiers searched for Twilight. Some passed the cafe they were in which relieved him greatly. The two, John and Twilight, left to the outside with drinks. Once outside, Twilight saw the Minotaurs and the rock like pony on the train depot. She hid her face with the cowl and began moving along. "John. Act natural and dont bring any attention to me. Get to Aaron and act like I'm not there. Dont even look at me." The soldiers kept their search, but the biggest concern was the pony shaped creature on the platform.

I walked over to Aaron and said to him, "Aaron let's get on the train, so 'we' can get out of here. The sooner the better, understand." I put a empathise on 'we' and entered the train after taking my ticket from Aaron. I just hoped that Twilight would soon follow, and come unharmed.

Aaron understood completely as they boarded the train as the soldier's train left a bit earlier. The train they were boarding was uch more pleasant. Though, as they crossed the paths with the rock like pony, Aaron felt a chill run up his spine. Its eyeless head looking straight forward. Not moving, not faultering. IT just remained still. But as each of them passed it, they felt a wave of unease as the crystaline form revealed a dark energy flowing in its form. Once on board, they sat down in a small booth. John with Twilight as Aaron sat on the otherside, looking outside at the soldiers. But what was most terrifying was that the rock creature was outside their window. The unsettling began to leave as did the train. Aaron and Twilight let out a sigh in relief.

I looked at the town we left and I sighed in relief, glad that creature was away from us. I look at Twilight and speak, "What was that thing?" The image of its eyeless gaze still fresh in my mind. "This will be and has been one hell of a trip." I muttered to myself.

Twilight gave a sigh and waited until she was ready to explain. That, John, was a Dark Crystal pony. They are unthinking, unfeeling, uncaring killing machines." Twilight sat up and looked out the window to the leaving train platform. "A dark Crystal ponies were created long ago to combat the resisting forces against Tirek. They were infused by dark magics by their commander, Grand General Sombra. He created them from Crystal's found beneath Canterlot Castle to march upon the Crystal Empire... t-the place where my brother and sister in law were. I... I dont know what happened to them."

I saw Twilights sorrow and frowned it reminding me of my own issues, Part of me couldn't blame her for the sommoning. But another part of me was bitter about it and used Twilight as something to blame. I put my hand on her shoulder and said. "After this is over I will help you find your brother and your sister in law before you send me back."

 

I did not know why I said that, but it just felt right in my mind and soul.

Twilight looked over to John and began to weep lightly and grabbed onto him. Pulling him close to cry into her shoulder. Aaron could hear her weeping in John's clothes. She had hope that they were still alive out there. Maybe out in the world. Far from the horrors of Equestria. Aaron stood up and left the booth. "I'm uh... I'm going to go see what this place has to eat. Give you some alone time."

I let her weep into my cloths and I put one arm around her to reassure her that she would be alright. It was almost instinctive I just felt like I had to comfort her like a father comforting a child, a guy comforting a friend or in some cases his girlfrind. I was surprised by the last thought but shrugged it off and continued to comfort Twilight staying silent.

Twilight cried for a good five minutes as they traveled. They would be in Baltimare by tomorrow afternoon. Twilight withdrew from John, sniffling a bit. "Th-thanks John. I... I needed that. I havent... I havent thought of my brother or sister for so long. To think that they could be alive kept me going, but there is part of me that thinks they are dead. And... I dont know what which is worse."

"If I said I understood I'd be a liar, all I can say is something a wise man that I still respect to this day told me. 'Hope for the best prepare for the worst.' A bit grim in this case but hope they still are helpful." I said thinking of my former Scout Master. "Think on it a bit and it might help, I'm no expert though."

Twilight brings him into a hug. But she did not weep this time, she just held onto him in a loving embrace. "Thank you John. You're a sweet heart." She gave hims a soft kiss on the Cheek and went back to nuzzling his shoulder. Aaron saw them and smiled lightly. Feeling a tad jealous. He left them to their moment and went to go back to the food bar. Hoping to whatever god had forsaken this world that the cart had some form of meat.

I blushed not used to this kind of contact, and my mind finally catching up to my actions. I simi awkwardly returned the hug. The kiss sent my brian into overdrive all the while the blush refused to go away.

 

'Where the hell did all this courage come from? On earth I would have came up with an excuse to take a breather and calm down by now.' I opted to just go with it.

The train sped down the tracks as the sun began to fall in the sky. Twilight fell asleep in John's embrace. Aaron came back holding a small plate of chicken legs. "Here. You need to eat something dude." He placed the paper plate on the small table between them. "Since Tirek's army includes something called a gryphon, they started to serve more meat based products. Lucky us." Aaron took a bite from his own chicken leg.

"Thanks Aaron." I happily ate my own chicken leg using a free hand glad that I could eat something that I was familiar with. Ten minutes later I finished. "Aaron I'm gonna see if I can find us some napkins to take care of the grease and O just need to stretch." With that I go up making sure Twilight would not fall over and made my way to the dining car.

Aaron nodded as John left to gather napkins for his hands. Aaron stayed with Twilight as he could see past her cloak. He had a clear sight of her breasts, but thats not what she was looking at. Past the garment, he could see a wing. With blood and feathers out of place. It gave a small twitch as she slept. Looking out of the booth, he saw nopony around. Reaching over, he covers her with her cloak, hiding her wing. "Hm. Wonder where John is?"

I found the napkins and walked around the train as I expected there was not much to see. I walked back cleaning wiping my hands with the napkin, through it all I,was careful to not disturb anyone. I already got strange looks I did not want to bring even more attention to myself. Once I saw Aaron sitting down I waved and took my own seat.

Aaron saw John coming and waved back. "I see you didnt get lost. So, how have you two love birds been?" Aaron was just toying with him, but he was no fool. He's seen the way they are together. But, that doesnt mean he cant have a little fun with the knowledge. He had a coy look on his face as he adjusted his glasses, waiting for an answer.

I blushed, but then inwardly smiled knowing the interactions Twilight and I have had recently. Kind of ignoring his look I replied. "Twilight's been through some bad shit, a conversation brought up her brother and her sister in law. I just comforted her, I don't even know how I did it." I looked down, "I just said the first thing to come to mind."

"I know man. This whole planet has seen hell from what we've seen thus far. I dont really want to see it in this state." Aaron looked out the window and saw that night was falling fast. "We should pull out the beds. We should get some rest before we move on. Cant get tired before the rescue mission."

"Yea that would not turn out to well." I pulled out my seats bed and sighed looking at Twilight I picked her up and laied her on it. I then pulled out Twilight's seat's bed and layer down on it, hearing Twilights soft snore, smiling I closed my eyes and event to sleep.

Aaron fixed up the beds with John as they were prepared for sleep. Aaron made sure that her prosthetic was okay and would not be damaged. Aaron got his bed out and looked over to John, sleeping next to Twilight. He gave them a smile and went to bed. Thinking that he could soon find someone to love here as well. Hours passed as the sun was coming up. But sitting in the car with them was a mare. Aaron and John had no idea who she was but Twilight knows full well who she is.
