Applejack continued to work. "Maybe it's just me..." She thought to herself as she continued to buck trees. Meanwhile Thunder was doing his daily flight patrol over Ponyville and the surrounding regions. he flew over Sweet Apple Acres and saw Silver and Applejack working.

 Eventually Silver Tongue forgot why he was looping the song in his head, and the flow of thoughts continue, "I won't be forced into someone elses way of thinking. If Applejack wants me to stop thinking of her as the one holding me back, then she has to prove to me that shes not otherwise, I will think what I want.". Every part of his body was begging him to stop and rest, but he couldn't, not now anyway. "When is the first break? How long have we been bucking apples anyway? If only I could check my internal clock, but I can't reach that far into my subconscious, because of all these distractions.".

Thunder landed on Sweet Apple Acres again. Applejack went to him and they chatted. "He can go on break, but for only a maximum time of 15 minutes. Don't let him drink the cider, he can just have plain apple juice." Thunder stated. "Alright." Applejack stated as she went to talk to Silver. "You can go on break, but no cider." Applejack stated.

 With a light chuckle Silver Tongue spoke, "Thats fine with me, I'm dizzy enough as it is." Silver Tongue finally let his adrenalin rush die down, "Right, not using that again. Hmmmm... maybe if I got a parachute then I... No that would destroy the tree.", "You got any ideas Thunder Dash?", Silver Tongue asked asif at a meeting among co-workers.

"Nope, and even if I did, I wouldn't give them to you. You've gotta think about it. This isn't about trying to get it done just to be free. It's about teaching you a lesson, about giving back to the community. This is for all that you TOOK from the community." Thunder stated.

 "Thats good and all but how can I make it up to the community if I can't physically help? Seams a bit inefficient if you ask me.", Silver Tongue was taught from the start that there is no problem a sharp and creative mind can't solve. "This job isn't for everyone, and unfortunately I fall in the 'everyone' category.",

 "Let me be honest with you, I have been trying to avoid the big picture, because I know the questions that come with it can very well leave me emotionally crippled, and an emotionally crippled worker is not a productive worker.". Silver Tongue explained.

"What you're doing now IS physically helping. You're helping Applejack get her work done around the farm so she wouldn't have to do it herself. You're giving back, which is what you failed to do. You thought that you gave back to the community with your show, but you stole and took from it, which left ponies hurt and angry. That life...is over." Thunder stated.

 "Correction, what I was doing was doing was physically helping. Normally I can't buck a single apple off that tree. That adrenalin rush was just to buy some time for me to think of something else, and I am not doing it again. Either find something else for me to do, find a way to double my muscle mass, or get me a wheelbarrow, and a long stick.", Silver Tongue lightheartedly replied.

"I can't do that. That's a spell Celestia only knows. You'll just have to figure it out yourself. That's what this community service is doing. It's teaching you to think for yourself, keep your morals in check and give back." Thunder stated as he pointed to the barn. "All of the stuff you want is in the barn, just ask Applejack." Thunder stated.

 "Applejack doesn't trust me with a stick, so thats half of my plan down... Wow I just realized she doesn't trust me with a stick, ponies only joke about that, but here I am.", Silver Tongue pondered on past mistakes, ​"I should have gotten that gym membership. I knew that would be a day like today, and I would be ready, but I just kept putting it off, and now here I am exhausted and ready to pass out.".

Thunder read Silver's mind. "Maybe a gym membership would've led you in a better direction in life..." Thunder stated as he motioned Silver to continue working. "Hmmm, perhaps I can be his personal trainer when he's done with all of this..." Thunder thought to himself.

 "Fine I'll try, maybe if I'm lucky I'll get a apple out of these trees.", Silver Tongue trotted up to an apple tree resting atop a steep hill, and bucked it as hard as he could, only to be greeted by a few falling leaves. Unsurprised Silver Tongue looked from his elevated location, "I don't know what he expects of me. Maybe a burst of richus motivation, and determination...", Silver Tongues eyes widened. Inspiration was just around the corner, he just knew it. He stared intently on the apple trees, he could practically hear the gears turning in his head...

Applejack watched from afar as she bucked a tree and all of the apples came falling down into a bucket. She then walked to the barn and put them in a secret storage she only knew about. Thunder stayed back this time and watched for a while to see what Silver would do.

 The idea stuck Silver Tongue like a bolt of lightning, a smile grew on his face as he got ready to buck again, but this time he faced the what looked like the tree he was going for. Silver Tongue leaped backwards in the direction of a tree on the bass of the hill in a bucking position, and landed his hind legs on a high point of the trees trunk. The combination of gravity and his full body weight created enough force to shake all of the apples off of the tree. falling to the ground with a thud Silver Tongue let out a cheer before speaking, "Right, who's going to get the trees that I can't?". Silver Tongues continued to cheer in his head, "This is great I can repeat this for all the trees near hills, or just on a downward slope, and Applejack can get the ones on top of the hills or that are just too far away from sad hills. Of course this would be a lot faster with a wheelbarrow and a long stick. Oh well make do and what not.".

"Yes!" Thunder cheered. "Just hope he doesn't wear himself out early..." Thunder stated. By now, it was 1pm. Applejack walked up to Silver. "You can go for another break in a bit, your choice." Applejack stated. She then walked back to what she was doing. Thunder was still watching from afar.

 "I think I might take you up on that offer.", Silver Tongue replied. With the thrill of his previous success running out, Silver Tongue thought it would be a good time to take a break. "Perhaps I can think of ways to improve my method... If Applejack would let me get a wheelbarrow and a long stick I could zoom down the hill, whacking the tree trunks with the stick on the way down. And here I was thinking I couldn't top my method.", Silver Tongue thought to himself, after all he was never one to quit while he was ahead.

Thunder read Silver's mind. "I don't that's gonna work Silver. You not only damage the tree but you might get hurt." Thunder stated as he continued to look at Silver do his work. "And that's good you'll take up that offer. Finally, some change will occur." Thunder stated.

 "There, you told me how it would go wrong, that's constructive criticism, if I could see more of that then that would be nice.", Silver Tongue took a moment to recall all of the criticism he had gotten, "Well... never mind, you're good on that front.". Silver Tongue thought it would be a good time to change to subject, "I must agree that this was a nice change. Breaking the bonds of tradition to pave the way to innovation.". It seemed Silver Tongue completely missed the point of the last statement.

"Yep...but the thing is, you've gotta think about what would happen. Envision the innovation at work in your mind." Thunder stated as he continued to watch. "Maybe if you could make something like a slingshot that is aimed at the perfect spot on the tree...that won't damage it..." Thunder suggested.

 "I don't think Applejack has a slingshot that large lying around, but I like where we are going with this. How about, we some how shake the ground nearby the trees enough for the apples to fall?", Silver Tongue added to the ever changing list of ideas. "That slingshot idea isn't half bad, might have to save that one for another time.".

"Not now. Time's almost up and you've got more trees to buck. We'll think about this later. I've got some stuff to do." Thunder stated as he flew off. Applejack just looked at Silver for a moment and then went back to work carrying apples to her secret apple cellar.

 Silver Tongue took note of the look and thought to himself, "Yep I still got it.", Silver Tongue failed to stifle a chuckle at his little joke. "I might take these ideas on the road when I pay my debt to society. I could be like a honest version of the flim flam brothers, maybe even their successors. I bet I could make a better version of the 'Super Cider Squeezy 6000' and sell it to farmers that prefer to automate things.". Silver Tongue thought he could make a better name for salles ponies and set a good example for others looking to go into it.

Meanwhile, Thunder had gone to the weather factory to take care of some papers. Applebloom watched as Silver continued to work. She then walked to him. "Aren't you gonna take a break soon?" She asked as she waited for an answer. Applejack continued to buck trees.

 "Ya, now seems like a good time.", Silver Tongue replied casually, as he stopped preparing for his next jump. "So is there like, an employe lounge or is anywhere sufficient?", Silver Tongue asked, as he imagined a grand throneroom that would put caletia to shame.

"Anywhere is...fine." Applebloom stated as she walk towards the barn and waited for Applejack to come up from her cellar. Granny Smith was in her rocking chair watching.
