A series of color pencils

Hi all,

I'm trying something new for me here. I'm going to do a series of individual drawings, with the plan to combine them all into one picture later. Not a big jump, to be honest, but what the heck.

In any case. Here are some of the drawings I've done so far. Yes, I'm ponifying something specific, but I'm going to leave what it is as a 'surprise' until I'm done. I'm sure there are those who will pick it out immediately, unless my interpretations are so far off base that it makes no sense.

Which is entirely possible, of course. :)

Five more to go, then the attempt to combine them...

And I've just discovered the deviantART BBCode, so there's that too. ;)

EDIT: Huh. The link sliced the Fluttershy one up for some reason. How odd.

Two more. The last one really annoyed me. I have enough problems drawing a character that looks at least vaguely like what they should, doing a mirror image in the same picture is just... arg. That and the scan went weird, getting blurry near the top. Not sure what's up with that.

Weird, i can't see them :P am i the only one who has this problem?

How odd. Are they clickable? That would at least take you to the deviantArt site... I think?

How? Tell me your secrets!

Ah, it took me a bit of fiddling, because when I went to IP.Board's documentation for the various BBCodes there were actually three different deviantArt BBCodes there that could have been installed.

Here's the syntax with spaces added so it will show up: [ da ]1234[ / da]

The 1234 is the number of the image. This is the thing that took me the longest. When you go to an entry on deviantArt, there's a number at the end of the URL. That's actually the image number. Put that in place of 1234.

However, I'm starting to wonder if it's a good idea. It appears the deviantart code always displays as a square box, and it will trim the image to fit. That's annoying. The one on top there is supposed to be Big Mac. :/

EDIT:

Managed to get a third one done today, though I'm not particularly happy with it. I rushed, and didn't think through some parts.

That's weird. Why did that one end up transparent when the other's didn't? I didn't do anything different that I'm aware of...

Nope, not clickable. What's your deviantart account?

Here we go:

And the final picture:

And here's my explanation:

Luna, her two batpony guards, and now Big Mac (because it's funny) are in a band that likes to do covers. I'd previously done one of them covering Uprising by Muse. This is a ponification of the Kongos' video for 'Come With Me Now'.

In the background are the four characters seen in the Kongos' video, being played by Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity. Each in a way they did appear in MLP:FiM at one point, even though they normally are quite different from those appearances. Because in the video these are characters who can't even sell their souls to the devil because they've already given their souls away to be something that makes them miserable. Rainbow Dash as the Poser/Hipster, Applejack as Applejewel the Bimbo, Rarity as the ruthless businesspony, and Fluttershy.... okay, to be honest I didn't quite get the exercising girl in the video, so that's the best I could do. :)

Other odd detail from the music video I didn't quite understand: The drummer's kit is missing the bass drum when he's playing it, but it appears in the stinger at the end. So I left it out here. It just looks odd to me without it.

Ha! I'm wrong. The bass drum is just barely below the frame of the camera. You can catch a glimpse of it in a few frames. Hrmm... I'll add the drum in via post as soon as I get it drawn. :)
