About this blog

This is a blog where I just post my thoughts and opinions in general, where those thoughts would be too long for a status update.

Woohoo! LAN Party! :D

I'm not a console gamer, but I do have a PS3. Only reason I do is because I gave up trying to convert my brother and my roommate to PC and I had nobody else to play Borderlands 2 with...One day, they'll figure it out. Anyway, I do have a PS3. Wired it up to my PC monitor and we had my brother over. We just used our spare tv and let him hook up to that one and we had a small LAN party of our own! :D     The awesomeness that was my living room for the last four hours...ah...love it   If o

Why I don't play Pokemon anymore

Alright! Rant time!   I love Pokemon. It's something that I've long been a fan of and it'll always have a place near and dear to my heart. When I was a kid, I played the games, read the comics, and watched the anime as much as I could. But at this point, I think I'm done. I think I've hit a point in my life where I'm just done with Pokemon altogether. One might argue that I've simply outgrown Pokemon. I'm not going to bother ever playing a new generation of Pokemon again. Hell, I haven't even

When you study 15+ hours for an exam and still don't do well enough...

Another vent blog entry? Yes. Another vent blog entry.   In case you don’t know, I take school pretty seriously. Sure, I don’t give it as much effort as it deserves, but I do care a lot about my grades. I have some pretty high standards when it comes to my grades. It’s not a straight A standard, but my GPA is 3.63, and I’m not even happy with that when I’m sure other students would almost kill to have my GPA.   When you get to college, your idea of school may change. Maybe it’s because colle

What My Guitar Means to Me (And How Music Saved My Life)

Disclaimer: there's some language and dark themes in this entry. If you're easily offended by dark themes or strong language, this is your fair warning.   Let me tell you guys something: I love music. It’s something I do every day. I took music classes in high school and I played in a college band. I also played the guitar in a local band with some of my best friends. Music means a lot to me. It’s been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember.   My mother and father listene

What if I told you that the United States is only about 50 miles away from Asia?

It's something I think about from time to time...about how the US is so far away from Asia. Let's face it. The Pacific Ocean is VAST! But here's something I didn't really think about until I was studying some maps.   The United States is technically only 50 miles away from Asia!     Now I know that Wikipedia isn't always the best source for information, but seriously...how inaccurate could the map be? Anyway, the article said that there'd be two bridges, each about 25 miles long and a thi

What I want to see in Season 5

I don't normally do things like this...I was pretty hyped for Season 4, though, and I did have high hopes for it. I was not disappointed. The crew certainly has a lot to live up to. But in general, I don't spend a lot of time thinking about what I want out of something new (like an upcoming video game sequel or a new season) except exactly what it should be: something new.   Today, I was just thinking about it. And I've determined what I want out of Season 5.   Did you ever notice something

What happens when I try to "fix" broken things

So yeah, this is what happens when you let me grubby little hands get a hold of broken things. I try to fix them and only end up breaking them even more!     This is my brother's old iPod Classic. The 80 GB model. 6th generation. He just gave it to me for nothing since he got an iPhone and therefore had no need for an iPod. He doesn't work on computers like I do (I've taken apart both my laptops and completely disassembled one of them and built my own desktop on top of working on a multitu

We are all attention seekers

I’ve seen plenty of people call out people they call “attention whores.” Those people who post things that say “like if your shirt is yellow” or “like if you were born” or “like if you—“ some other thing that obviously a lot of people are doing, have done, have experienced, and so forth. And these people agree that they have done or experienced that thing so they drop this person a like. Then that person has thousands of people who have given their status or their comment or whatever a like. Nex

Update: I dropped out of school today.

I know in my last entry I said I was going to tough out the semester, but I did the math.   To keep my B in Advanced Business statistics, I need a 76.4 on the final exam To raise my C to a B in Marketing Strategy, I need to score a 124.2 on the final exam   I finally told my parents I had a C in grad school. It really went over better than I thought it would. I did make my mom promise not to destroy me, though. Instead of being angry with me (like she has done in the past), she instead offe

This intersection needs a stoplight. Somepony could be injured or killed!

Like seriously. Notice how, at the end of "Generosity," Carriage #1 simply pulls out in front of Carriage #2 at the intersection in the red circle. Who had right of way? Did #1 legally make that left turn? Was #2 supposed to yield? Without a stoplight at this intersection, WHO KNOWS?!They were both fortunate that they missed each other (though just barely). A stoplight would be useful at this intersection! Somepony could be injured or killed! I just hope that none of those carriages were carryin

The Princess of the Space (though I'm totally a dude) answers 99 questions!

Everyone else is doing one so what the heck? Why not?   1: Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? I sleep with the closet door the way I left the closet door. Why do people make a big deal of this anyway?   2: Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel? I don’t even use the stuff, let alone take it.   3: Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? Out. I hate the feeling that tucked sheets make me feel gravitated to my bed.   4: Have you ever stolen

The Pirate Bay has been raided!

I'm actually pretty surprised I haven't seen this all over the place everywhere I go yet...   This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion but here I go anyway.   I read in the news today that The Pirate Bay has been seized by police. This is part of an article by TorrentFreak     This is sort of stirring up a bit of controversy. But I have agree with Rich in this video here.     Now I'm no angel. I was pretty stupid when I was a teenager and I didn't know exactly how big so

The man who proposed to his girlfriend while being arrested

This is gonna be a short one. Promise.   Only in Oklahoma does this stuff happen.   I think it's pretty funny and somewhat original although I'm sure he didn't plan on being arrested. It sort of sounds like white trailer trash type stuff if you ask me!   Rednecks. They live in my state!   But on a brighter note, I have A LOT of respect for that police officer. A lot of people will look down on police as the "filthy crooked pigs" but there are a lot of them in small towns are are reall

Technology: we all take this stuff for granted

The other day, I was shopping on eBay for a new SD card. The one I have in my Galaxy S4 has a total capacity of 32 gigabytes, and I've got it down to its last 13 megabytes. The only thing it can hold much of now is Word documents. So I shopped on eBay and picked up a 64 gigabyte SD card for about thirty bucks.   On a per gigabyte basis, that's extremely cheap, and that got me to thinking about the technology I had in high school. Let's rewind about 6 years. I was a sophomore in high school (t

Sorry I'm so whiny this week, but finals absolutely friggin suck

Yeah, I know it. I've been very, very whiny as of late. I'm trying my best to cope with one of the most stressful weeks to any college student: finals week.   If you don't know about it or you're not in college (or university as they call it in Canada), finals week happens twice a year at the end of each semester. It's a very trying time, especially since college is usually like high school on steroids. On top of that, college students generally have to work, keep up their grades, and try to m

Someone I have to give a brohoof to.

Bridle Gossip, A Dog and Pony Show, The Best Night Ever, The Last Roundup, A Friend in Deed, MMMystery on the Friendship Express, Pinkie Pride, Filli Vanilli...   What do all of these episodes have in common?   They were written, either fully or in part by, Amy Keating Rogers.   And I fully enjoyed every one of these episodes. Some of them are in my BOAT (best of all time) list. In fact, the only episode she wrote that I didn't love was The Cutie Pox, and that was still actually a pretty

Shoplifter caught in the act

HOLY CRAP! I'm not really sure how to feel about this. On one end of the spectrum, I understand what it's like to be poor. Perhaps she has an abusive boyfriend? But on the other end of that, if you're stealing out of necessity, there are plenty of welfare options available to you. You can make a half-decent living off of welfare. There are so many variables in this. At the end of the day, I don't think people should be shoplifting. It's wrong.

Scammed. And I should have known better.

Disclaimer: This contains some language that is hidden in the fourth spoiler. Other than that, the rest of the entry is clean. Disclaimer the second: There's some light computer jargon, and if that's not your thing, your head may hurt.   This is my Samsung Galaxy S4. (ignore the Toshiba laptop it's sitting on. I needed a surface that contrasted with the color of the phone lol)         I love my phone. It’s the first phone I’ve had that my parents weren’t paying the phone bill. That’s

Rough draft for my OC Stargazer

I spent the last few hours typing this from scratch. It's a rough draft and I plan to go through a few edits before I'm done with him.   It's only taken my a year and a half to do this   Anyway it starts now   Stargazer – Male – 20 years old – Pegasus   APPREARANCE   Average build. Dark blue coat, dark brown mane with lighter brown highlights.   CUTIE MARK   A telescope pointed at a single star that symbolizes his love of astronomy.   CHARACTER TRAITS   Withdrawn – Not that th

Possibly one of the cutest/most touching stories I've ever read

I was browsing Imgur earlier and I ran into this.   Basically, this guy saw a squirrel drowning in a fountain in his town. Afraid to grab a wild critter with his bare hands, he used a mail bin in the trash to give the squirrel a platform to climb on and lifted it out of the fountain.     Cold, exhausted, and terrified, the squirrel climbed on his shoulder and in his jacket. When he took the squirrel home, he dried and warmed the critter up. The squirrel recovered and he visits this squir

One Year of Twilicorn

One year ago today, one of the biggest changes to ever hit the fandom became canon.   Something that was only parodied on DeviantArt and in Friendship is Witchcraft became reality.   For many, it was the greatest crime against humanity ponamity. A complete bastardization of their favorite character.   For others, it was a gift from God.   Today marks one year since Twilight was crowned a princess. Can you believe it's already been a year since Season 3 ended?   I can't. Time moves t

Oklahoma: The Bipolar State

This picture was taken at 4:53 pm     And this one was taken at 5:22     In hardly half an hour, it went from hardly being able to see across the road to a picture perfect evening. Welcome to Oklahoma!   And it's December. While other people are getting snow, we're getting rain, hail, and tornadoes.

Nerf Wars

>Nerf wars   This got me to thinking...what if we took all the real guns in the world and replaced them with nerf guns?   Like, war wouldn't be a bad thing. War would, quite possibly, be the most awesome thing ever. You couldn't hate going to war.   This is the world I want to live in.   Source: GIVE THE PERSON ABOVE YOU 5 REASONS HE/SHE SHOULD LIKE YOUR FAV PONY
