Erin's mother kept the car steady as they drove down the lone road. In the backseat Erin kept the buds of his iPod in his ears, Avenged Sevenfold playing "A little piece of heaven". Erin had always kept the emo look, enjoying how it reflected what he felt on the inside. He knew that it seemed whiny and annoying to others, but he enjoyed the way that he was. While headbanging to the song, his long black hair flew over his shoulders, and onto the iPod screen. When Erin looked down to move it, he saw the black markings of the tattoo on his hands, which caused anger to surge through him. He absolutely hated his birth tattoo, as it caused the other kids in his old school to make fun of him. Erin was never a social boy, being an outcast was what he was used to. He has never had a friend in his whole life due to such, which made him always feel alone in the pit of his stomach. His heart always had a hole, the pain sometimes even brought him to tears. But as his mother said, this school could mean a whole new life to him, a new beginning. He was also told that he was some sort a cleric, powers that he gained from his father, who was burned at the stake. Erin was angry at first, but even he grew curious to what this meant. He had powers? How would he even use them?
As these thoughts went through his head, his mother turned her head to face him and said,
"Erin, we're here." Moving to the window, Erin saw the outside of the school, and how massive it was. He had no idea how he was going to survive here. He let the rest of his song go before he took the buds out, and his mother stopped the car. She opened her own door and stepped to his, opening it as well. Erin stepped out and stretched his legs, enjoying the small moment of muscle ecstasy. Her mother then looked at him with tear filled eyes and said,
"I hope you have a good life here Erin... your father would of wanted it this way."
All Erin could do in response was to hug his mother, his final goodbye to the woman who birthed her. She then handed Erin his luggage, got in her car, and left his life forever.
