Socialism could work. But it would have to be so that everyone has a task to do for their living. There's so much wrong with this-aka the human race being inherently greedy and power hungry. Within a month all hell would break loose and life would be a George Orwell novel.

I believe for the most part that socialism cannot exist effectivly in this world, there are however certain aspects that, if combined and integrated into capitalist societies, would benefit us all.

socialism will never work because it perpetuates envy, fear, and mediocrity. In that it perpetuates the notion that the human race is "inherently greedy and power hungry".

Anyone can buy into that philosophy if they want to but nothing good will come of it

Socialist elements already exist in our society. The public education system, for example, is provided by the government through taxes. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are (in the US) further examples.
