Ugh

So, I have a bad case of writer's block right now. I have no idea how to get rid of it. Usually, listening to music helps, but I've over used that method far too much. I was hoping maybe some of you guys who are writers might be able to help. I'm really in a bind here because I haven't been able to come up with a new story for a long time.

I'm usually only able to write redos of stories I've tried writing a dozen times. None of them have ever been very successful for me at all. I'm at the end of my rope here. I'm finally getting somewhere with writing my characters as autistic right now, but I notice it's difficult when there's too much going on in the actual story.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of this writer's block... that would be great. D:

I recommend reigniting your passion for writing. You could approach it by focusing on why you love writing and what originally got you into it, and draw inspiration from that. Alternatively, you could try listening to music more, or read someone else's story, watch a movie, take a walk in nature, or do anything that inspires you and gets your creativity flowing.

If none of that works, maybe you just need a break for a bit. No point in forcing yourself to write if the ideas just aren't coming, that would likely just stress you out. Maybe if you took a week or two to just relax and not focus on writing at all you might be more refreshed to start coming up with ideas again.

So it sounds to me like you're having trouble separating the characters viewpoint in the main plot as you are trying to keep the main plot in mind.

That does sound about right, actually... I mean when the autism is given more focus for a plot, it's not as hard to make it work. However, if I say... put an autistic character in a situation where they are being bullied and someone sweeps them off their feet by protecting them, it becomes harder for me to bring out their autistic traits.
