Humorously enough, this video made me realize something I hadn't before: where did these gemstones come from, and where did the pictures inside them come from? 

They certainly don't seem like natural pictures, especially since I highly doubt that someone randomly took a picture of the mane six while they were inside the donut shop. 

So perhaps these pictures are just memories that the mane five were somehow able to extract from their minds and encase in gemstones. Question is, how the hell did they do that? Would that actually be something Rarity is capable of doing?

I doubt they were actually there, too. I think it was more of a visual thing for the audience to see. The characters probably can't see it.

With that said, I think that mattress clerk's smile was a coincidence. It's not like they haven't used such a smile in the show before Season 5, and also it was most likely the same "Quills and Sofas" salespony from Season 1.

I don't know, man. I really do feel like it's foreshadowing something. Though, I can see how it could just be a coincidence. Maybe it's just my want for Starlight talking
