13. Rowdy Roddy Piper
Roderick George Toombs (April 17, 1954), better known by his ring name "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, is a Canadian professional wrestler and film actor who is currently signed to WWE. In professional wrestling, he is best known for his work with WWE. Although he is Canadian, due to his Scottish heritage, he was billed as coming from Glasgow in Scotland and was known for his signature kilt and bagpipe entrance music. He earned the nickname "Rowdy" by displaying his trademark "Scottish" rage, spontaneity and quick wit, and despite being a crowd favorite for his rockstar-like persona, often played the villain; he was also nicknamed "Hot Rod".
Among his in-ring achievements, he is a former WWE Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion, a former WWE World Tag Team Champion with Ric Flair, and a former 3x NWA (Mid-Atlantic)/WCW United States Heavyweight Champion. Along with WWE and, later, WCW, he also competed in various National Wrestling Alliance territories, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic (the Carolinas), San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest territory in Portland, OR, where he presently resides. Piper was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
