Oh yes -- absolutely! I'm with you 100%. Some people start off liking the show for what it is and then (somewhere along the way) begin to nitpick, examine, and critique it to oblivion like its not a show meant for little girls. It's perfectly fine the way it is; and honestly, if fans were to get their way where these things are concerned, I probably wouldn't watch the show anymore. Let it be innocent and cute -- we have enough dark and serious shows as it is.

I just expect anything... i have no real set boundrais for MLP becuase it isnt like Gravity Falls (another awesome show) but i just faith in the creative team to make every episode really really good. But i guess it is just personal prefrence as there is no definitive expectations for MLP:FiM...

My gosh yes! Someone finally says it. No matter ho you look at it, the target audience will always be children. In my opinion, I think bronies can be pretty selfish when it comes to the show and it's entirety. They can argue that it's for everyone, but is it really? Not like Hasbro was anticipating their target audience to be older guys anyways, and most of them really need to get over that illusion.
That's how I'll always look at it.
