Naming my musket?

longgone

Well, since my friends in my unit have named theirs, and because I'm assuming it's bad luck to have a gun without a name, just like with a boat, I have decided to name it. But alas, I can't think of one. I'm wanting it to be one that's close to home in KS. Dorothy is right out! And there's really no girl that has had a significant role in my so far. And last time I checked, there's no "state female name".

I would name my that, but it would be a weird conversation

Friends: Hey, d'you name your musket yet?

Me: Yeah, I named it Fluttershy

Friends: O_o

BRAINBLAST!: I remembered there's this girl named Kansas in my school, I shall call my musket Kansas! For it is my only true home! Not very romantic, but what do they expect, me to make out with it?

Honestly, in the military, I think they do. Since you don't have your wife on duty, your gun is a temporary replacement, so to speak. It's kind of wrong, but hey, those guys are lonely.

Back in those days, wifes/children were allowed to travel with the army to be with their husbands. And besides, I'm just a lad!

Very true! I didn't think about that. I suppose you could say I was being HistoricallyInaccurate? *Chuckles* I suppose I was thinking more along today's lines.

I would but I thought:

Events in chronological order:

1. Names musket Pinkie Pie

2. Naming musket pinkie pie symbolizes my likeness for her (which I do have)

3. Urdnot Shepard hears of this

4. To defend his true love, he breaks into my house and shoots me dead with a blunderbuss

5. I wind up dead with shards of glass/nails/splinters/bird shot in my head.

Technically that lists me as too. Except I'd kill you in a more manly and honorable fashion.

@Bearded Man

Golden Age does have strong feelings for Fluttershy, however he will not confess to it out of fear for his own life. Also there's the point that he's not ready for marriage. But know this, he loves the fair maiden, but respects the both of you to not interfere 'tween ye!

Of course not! The only reason would be one of affection, not of abuse.

Good, that's very splendid. I wouldn't like putting a 6 inch long piece of steel through a man like you.

No you wouldn't, it'd be like poking a bear with a safety pin.

No, it would go through you like butter...

I just wouldn't have another history buff to talk to that's as awesome as you.

Well, you wouldn't be able to reach me in time to penetrate the bayonet into me anyway.

Besides You wouldn't want to kill me, imagine how Fluttershy would react.

But notice: It would only come to this is if you harm her. I would tell her that I did to protect her. And being one of Golden Age's friends, you get the honor of having pipes played at your funeral. Or a fife and drum funeral march, Which would you prefer?

Neither since I won't be dying anytime soon. Hurting her would kill me inside anyway. It'd be like killing myself if I dare abuse her.
