I've tried the following games:

Minecraft,

Call of duty,

Terraria,

Team Fortress 2,

Dota 2,

Portal 2,

Socom,

Windows Pinball.

I am bad at all of them. Not joking.

Minecraft, Im only good at redstone, Im bad at building, pvp, pve, etc.,

Call of duty, I die 50 times just to get 1 kill. My KD ration is 0.21

Terraria, I always die somehow.

Team Fortress 2, I've never been able to get 1 kill without dieing more than 5 times.

Dota 2, I dont know how to play it xD

Portal 2, I get too confused.

Socom, I only get deaths and assists.

Windows Pinball, I can never keep track of the ball.

I dont think I was meant to be a gamer :P

And if I am good at a video game, that means im using cheats/hacks.

How about you?

I'm actually known at school for being ridiculously skilled at pretty much everything having to do with hand-eye coordination/things similar to video games. I play "Osu!" in school, and people freak out over how well I do.

Example of gameplay I can do:

Now, keep in mind that I don't get as high of a percentage as that player... But still. People find me to be on cocaine or something.

Maybe you're just more of a classic gamer. NES and SNES games? Or perhaps something more slower paced and more along the lines of strategical? Try things out like that.

This is a very small sample size, and it is mostly one genre:

Minecraft - you're bad at the parts that are most like an FPS. Getting better at building comes from practice and looking at what other people build. Redstone is the hardest part of the game for most people, and you seem to be good at that.

Call of duty - FPS

Terraria - I haven't actually played it, but apparently death is fairly common

Team Fortress 2 - FPS

Dota 2 - MOBA is just an extremely hard genre to get the hang of, let alone be good at. It's normal to suck at them, I've been playing LoL for almost 2 years and I still suck pretty bad, and LoL is WAY easier than DOTA.

Portal 2 - Puzzle games aren't for everyone. Also, FPS style interface

Socom - FPS

Windows Pinball - IIRC it's and FPS

So try something other than FPS's. Strategy is always great, and games like Civilization or Alpha Centauri are very slow paced, all about strategy, while you have you RTS's like Starcraft which are quite fast paced.

Try some RPGs, like Fallout or Elder Scrolls (I recommend Fallout 2 and Morrowind, respectively). KotoR is another great PC RPG.

Puzzle games. I am so terrible at puzzle games its scary. There was a room in Amnesia where you had to pull four books down to open a secret room. It took me 40 minutes to figure this out.
I ain't that great at building games either, despite my many childhood years of Lego building.

Don't try to game for skill. Game for fun, that is what they are meant for... :/

If not, then games might not be your thing...

I always do it for fun, no change in skill

Maybe you just need more practice and need to play games with simpler goals first. Try not to doubt yourself when playing as if you think you cant succeed then you wont. Also like Evilshy said you have barely scratched the surface of what's out there to play, try different kinds of games. focus on what's tripping you up in the game and try to improve little by little.

I have my good days and bad days. Sometimes when I fire up TF 2, Planetside 2, or Red Orchestra, I'm "in the zone" and annihilating everybody. Other times it seems that I can't do anything but die. I'm not a bad player but by no means am I fantastic. Now if I was to deathmatch some of the kids today in Doom, Unreal Tournament, or Quake, they would be in trouble. To this day I'm still better at older shooters than newer ones. Same genre, but entirely different gameplay. Don't discount yourself as an FPS guy because of CoD or TF2; even those two games are radically different.

My gaming preferences are eclectic. Real-time and turn-based strategy games are both my cup of tea, and I enjoy more relaxing puzzle/thinking games like Myst (try Myst!). Both western and Japanese RPGs appeal to me, but which I prefer is mood-dependant.

There are lots of things you've yet to play if I'm to assume that list is comprehensive. Keep trying new things and you may yet find your niche.

One thing I know for sure, TF2 skill will never come from other FPS game skills.
