Dreams. Most of us love our dreams, as they give us an escape from reality. They give us the chance

to escape from our somewhat meager lives to live in a world of fantasy and wonder, and the chance to be someone we could not be in real life. But why do we have nightmares? I am not meaning in a literal sense in why we have nightmares, I am just rhetorically speaking. If we as humans only had sweet dreams, we could be much more peaceful and be in a state of mind to where we could be happy. But there is always that one dream that stresses us out of our wits.

The dream I am talking about, you may ask? Well, I am talking about Nightmares.

The dreams that make your worst fears come to life, and leave you gasping on your bed with sweat rolling down your body. Why do we need to have these horrible things? They stress us out the brain, and leave us wide awake, so we can no longer sleep. It is only a burden, and I for one hate nightmares.

Anyone else hate nightmares, or do you rather enjoy them? This is our question for today:

  • Do you enjoy Nightmares?
  • If so, why/why not?
  • Name your worst and best dream!

Thanks for reading you guys! Don't forget to follow, comment, and brohoof! Crona, out~

Do I enjoy nightmares?

Well a bit of yes and no. Depends on the nightmare I guess.

I like being scared (to an extent). And for me its hard to get something like a movie or a story to scare me. Mostly because in movies and stories I don't get immersed well. A good movie or story can definitely suck me in, but its only one foot into the door as my other foot remains in reality. I just never get into that state of mind where I feel like I'm not watching or reading.

Also the horror genre is mostly ruined with pointless gore and violence that is about as scary as a kitten.

Video games with the "Amnesia" craze is a step in the right direction. Since I control my actions I get immersed better and thus can get scared.

Now dreams are the absolute best place to get scared because you have nearly no perception of reality while within a dream. Thus complete immersion is possible so I can get really scared! :)

Plus nightmares are some of my more memorable dreams.

Though I hate when a nightmare is not scary and is more soul crushingly depressing. THOSE nightmares are just awful!

A memorable nightmare for me was... well... it was just a surreal trip experience. From what I remember I was on a field trip of some kind and then I fell into a trapdoor and was sent into some strange otherworldly realm that looked like never ending stained glass windows. I just remember a lot of falling. It scared me awake actually with so much falling.

Though it continued when I went back asleep and I was back on the field trip, but no one could see me. I was a ghost! Though I saw my reflection and I looked like (no lie) some strange ghostly translucent "Piggy Bank"... wtf?

The dream was kinda cool for a moment because I flew around as a piggy bank ghost spying on people, but then it became horrifying as all sorts of horrifying ghosts came out of the trapdoor and chased me around trying to bring me back to the stained glass window realm.

(And I swear I was not on any drugs)
