I Quit Live Streaming

I don't have the personality for it. I'm a completely silent introvert who never talks and it's not entertaining. I don't have someone to outsource being entertaining to. It's a waste of my time and everyone else's. I used to live stream to grow my Smash Bros Melee reputation and use it as an alternative to Youtube in case bad things happened to my channel, like getting hacked or suspended. But also, it was just another way to entertain the Melee community. It would be easy for me at tournaments, but I quit going to them

My 1st channel only peaked at 399 followers, 394 currently, and my 2nd channel is at 63 right now, at its peak. Just some numbers so you know

From now on, I'm just going to continue what I'm already doing which is merely me recording myself playing PC FPSs. Nothing's changed, really. Personality is an unchanging factor that can make or break someone's performance. You can act, but you can't be authentic. I used to do it for a long time and it's not something I want to do again

Everyone has their own thing, this may just be yours and it's completely fine, silent streamers are awesome for people that just want a nice chill stream of content to watch. Every stream doesn't have to be always be about making as much noise as possible or being the most entertaining host possible, it can be simply about sharing ones own adventures and achievements through them playing a video game. I encourage you to keep doing whatever it is you love and live life to its fullest, with respect of course.

It makes sense people have drives to do these things because they notice others doing it but it doesn't mean you need to do it. Its almost like a cultural expectation thing when you see it so much and think, what do I want to do for a living? It tends to come up. But its ok if it doesn't pan out, and not everyone gets it going anyways. The investment is too much if you don't already have the personality for it.

Try to consider skills you developed over the course of years for a different job or hobby. It'd be what you are more naturally inclined to do, and if its intrinsically motivating then you don't even need to worry about being bad at it, because you would have the motivation to continue. But even that won't always pan out.
