I had a policy nearly identical to love and tolerate even before i started watching MLP.  Its a moral choice to never hate someone and to tolerate all their actions.

That little meme gone wrong has done more harm than good, in my opinion.

I always like to think no. But then again, if every single brony had gone through with following the love and tolerate, both through ponies or afterwards, I'm pretty sure there would be much less stuff to worry about.

I say don't worry about love and tolerate (Personally, I don't think it's gone). Follow it if it feels right to you. As for your friends, well, sadly, some of the people we call our friends can have things we don't like at all. Like THAT. As wrong as it was. Hopefully, they don't show that face that much, otherwise, I'd suggest not playing with them so often if they are so willing to insult people just like that.

I've always been one to respect others, no matter what, but I enjoy a good argument as much as the next guy. Adopting the "love and tolerate" motto though, I think as a person it has made me just a little more friendly, and it's changed me for the better because of that. I hope it's not gone, but I really wish people would at least consider paying more attention to it, instead of demonstrating a complete blatant disregard for it.

Love and tolerate doesn't actually mean to literally love and tolerate one another. To bronies, this is just a code to respect one another. Your friends don't really seem to care about that code like most bronies do. I suggest you find new friends, because people like that just end up turning on you for doing something they don't approve of anyway. Good friends are really hard to come by. :B

But seriously, enough with "love and tolerate." It was a sarcastic meme, let it go. If you want to actually DO those things, fine, wonderful. You'll be in good company. But throwing them around as our mantra is missing the point.

It's Xbox live, people shout what they want because they know there's little to no repercussions to them afterwards.

i believe that, you as a person tried to live up to the motto "Love and Tolerate". you stood up to what you saw as wrong doing and tried to make amends. the motto can be extended past us. but not as a political statement but as quite as your own personal morals. thats where it needs to begin, and spead that simple kindness to others in small ways. your friends where wrong to do what they did. but you made the effort to spread our message. is "Love and Tolerate" dead? no. but i belive its a moral code.... i maybe optimistic about it. i dont know.

No matter what, in all fandoms, there are the decent people, and the indecent people. Unfortunately we can't stop the indecent people from being in the fandom, and often the best thing to do is ignore them. Bullying shouldn't be tolerated, and I hope you aren't playing with those "friends" anymore.
