Calling out bronies for recent drama

This isn't directed at anyone in particular nor towards the members of this forum. This is just a general statement about the fandom.

 

I'm going to call out the brony community for a bit. I'm feeling there's been a large sense of entitlement from the fanbase since season 3 began. As more merchandise and episodes started becoming more brony-pleasing, the fanbase has become brats and have wanted more. This latest alicorn Twilight drama, Fighting is Magic drama, and now Equestria Girls drama has really exposed the whiny side of bronies.

 

The show's writers and Hasbro don't owe you anything. Originally they didn't ask for this unexpected source of followers. They've done their part to change course and acknowledge brony presence and I bet they're going to start regretting it if this drama keeps going. By looking at Twitter, it seems like show writers like M.A. Larson, Meghan McCarthy, and I forget the third writer for the moment, are actively making small jokes and quips about the drama because of how ridiculous it's getting.

 

You can dislike change and disagree with the direction of the franchise, but don't rage and get angry over a cartoon. You have much more urgent aspects in your lives to focus on and get angry about. Wait and see what becomes of these ideas before automatically crapping on it. That makes you no different than the haters who have mocked bronies before checking out the show themselves.

 

I may be speaking about a vocal minority as I have seen rational people comment positively and are anticipating the upcoming things, but that vocal minority is too vocal and are setting a poor reputation for the rest of us. Recent events have made me shake my head to the point where I might have a concussion because of the stupid drama and the incessant crying from entitled bronies. Grow up and be thankful the show is even going to have a 4th season.

Oh, god. I can't tell you how much I agree with this. The only way this statement could be any truer is if it was coming out of the mouth of AppleJack.

I can say that i am on both "sides". Because since i shae my opinion and give feedback i guess thats being a brat.

 

 

I have my right to give opinions and support to the show the way i want.

When they announced Alicorn Twilight i was against it because of the very simple fact that Lauren had nothing whatsoever to do with it. The writers took something and changed it greatly without the original creators opinion. (If its permanent as its rumored to be)

 

The Fighting is Magic case was/is something i really don't give a damn about. In all honesty. Hasbro has the rights to do what they did and its understandable why they did it.

Stating an opinion is one thing.  Starting petitions and demonizing Hasbro for no particular reason aside from the fact that you disagree with what they do with their IP is another.

Wow, I can't agree any more with everything that was said.

 

I don't hate Hasbro at all. I've never played Fighting is Magic, but to be fair, they had it coming. Trademark laws work in really, really weird ways, FiM went too far past the line, and got bit. Sucks, but it happens. A C&D doesn't prevent them from using any ORIGINAL work, that is, the engine is theirs at the very least, why not work on an original fighter?

 

Allicorn Twilight Sparkle: Wynaut just calm down! Last I recall, it doesn't actually air until the 16th, so we have NO IDEA what happens or how. Me? If, after the episode, TS leaves her friends and moves on, I stop watching. If not, I keep watching. Simple. There's no reason to petition to Hasbro at all, what's done is done, there's no way to change it. Seeing as how well the show has done, I trust the staff's decisions completely. They know what they're doing.

I really and truly have not even heard about this drama yet iv seen the crap storm about the disband of pony fighters but ya. So should we all get our crap hats on and get in our love and tolerater bunkers and get ready for the drama xdoctor?

I do agree with what your saying though people love drama though they pay to see it happen constently.

Yeah we are so whiny that we have people complaining about the people complaining and If I complained about you complaining then that would mean we would have people complaining about the people complaining about the people complaining over Hasbro's recent changes.
