Background.

Well, it started off with a dark-red-to-slight-purple horizontal gradient base. Then I added a vertical, reflected, white-to-black gradient overlay set to Soft Light. Then, on a new layer, I added a linear, horizontal, black-to-white gradient set to Soft Light.

I love the 3D effect you managed to pull off with the spherical object in the center. Makes for a very good wallpaper in my opinion.
