Isn't Walmart technically illegal?

Well, I think it's safe to say that Walmart is a monopoly if there ever was one! You can't go around the US without seeing at least one Walmart. They're in every singe bloody town!

That being said, I remember when I was studying about the 1870-1890's and about the labor unions and what not. I do remember that the US Supreme Court outlawed monopolies somewhere around the time period. And a monopoly is basically a corporation that is so powerful, it makes small business basically impossible. (At least that's what I remember). That would probably include McDonalds as well, but y'know...

So...with that being said, wouldn't Walmart be illegal?

Sure, Walmart may be illegal.

But even the best lawyer in the world wouldn't have a shot in hell of shutting Walmart down. It's too big. It's impossible.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just sick of seeing big corporations running the country -_-.

I guess Walmart's pretty harmless thought XD

Walmart is big but its not the only retail giant out there, it has competition including amazon.  I'm not sure how accurate that monopoly law thing is though, it sounds stupid

I'm not sure your right about the whole monopoly thing. Walmat has competition from places like Target and Amazon. On that same note, McDonald's has competition from places like Burger King and Wendy's. SO neither of these places are monopolies. Of course I hate both Walmart and McDonald's so I'd still be happy to see them go.

It was made so businesses can't make things overly expensive because they are the only place that sells a certain item. Granted now everything is expensive anyway but still.

A monopoly implies they control the entire market for a particular product, which they do not.

Precisely.  There are other general stores, making Walmart not a monopoly, and thus not being illegal.

If Walmart was the only supplier of every good sold inside those stores, their alternate branding, and any product that could be used in place of said goods, then yes, it would be illegal. However, it is not now.

Frequency does not determine monopolization, the availability of goods does.
