Equestria Girl's "twist" is yet to be determined, heck, the actual show hasn't shown anything we haven't seen or didn't know yet, but it has it's own charm that made us fall in love with it, I just prefer to keep my mouth shut, my hopes at a medium level (cuz I'm not overly excited about it nor I am hating it with passion) until I actually watch the movie, you should try and do the same.

Really, I'm just highly annoyed that they made the ponies humanized, because I really would have loved to see a show like this with the characters staying as ponies.

Earl agrees, them darn character designs are jacked up higher than a 10 inch lift kit on a 98' Chevy Silverado, I tell you what...

Too bad there ain't nothing that can be done about the skin color, I mean if they could fix that it may not be as jacked up (minus the huge feet/shoes/legs that are dis-proportioned to the body n' stuff...)

But I have a theory about why the skin colors are the way they are. If they made them the usual skin colors of today's people it would imply racism in the movie and this is why; If the characters were all white, then people would complain about the racism , if they were all black people would complain about the racism, ect. ect. ect.

But that is not all, say they made it a multi-cultural group, then there would be a new problem, designating what race to apply to what character would also be sawed after as intended racism and people would bitch, whine, moan & groan on a higher level then people are now about the skin colors.

So in a way, I guess it's probably good that they colored them the way they did... now they just got to fix the big ass feet n' shit.

My main problem is that this is the FIRST actual FiM movie....Why did it have to be this? Even if it is good somehow, I hope is just stays as a movie and not become a series in itself..I do not hate it, I just don't really see the point.

So before this whole Equestria Girls things was even announced, I always thought it would be kind of cool to see a spinoff show where the mane 6 are in high school or college or something, I thought that would be pretty neat.

For whatever reason, the creators decided to turn the ponies that we know and love into weird alien-looking anthro type things. Seriously, this whole thing would have been a dream come true for me if they had just kept the characters as ponies!!!

that's a decision of Hasbro's. they want to make the money. the "dream come true" part is also subjective.

It's just not the same having them humanized, plus I really have never been a fan of humanized ponies.

Plus, here's the other big problem. Based on the trailer, it seems like yet another typical cliche high-school show. I mean they turned the mane 6 into stereotypical high school students. Twilight is the typical smart girl, Rainbow Dash is the typical jock, etc.

you're making quick judgements while not knowing how true or not they are. how do you know it's cliché without knowing how the story is laid out? also, Twilight were smart and RD were kind of the jock in the original show, honestly. i don't see the problem here at all.

Plus, to top it all of, they just HAD to add the very overused concept of having some "cute guy" with no personality be Twilight's love interest. I mean, really? The creators couldn't be more creative than this?

how do you know this guy is flat as pancakes? Twilight could probably have found a similarly-minded guy in her own universe. and given who's going to, like, produce the whole show, that has produced the previous 3 seasons just fine and dandy, i don't see how they'd screw something as a multiverse love-interest up.

I really hope this show ends up being better than it looks. If only they had just stayed as ponies...I mean honestly, the characters look sooooo much better as ponies, what were the creators thinking making them into weird alien people????

it's the same bloody animation team, the same bloody musicians, the same bloody writers making the damn movie, you know. they're not giving it away to someone else. i don't see how it could be bad if it's backed up by that.

while i too would love to see a feature-length epic of the ponies battling against previous villains, that's not what we got know. we just have to make-do with that fact.
