Observations of an older Brony.

You know you're getting old when...

News stories that used to be about Generation X are now about Generation Y.

You're one of the only fans of G4 that has first hand memories of when G1 ponies came out.

Your favorite oldies station is now playing '80s music on a regular basis. sad.png

When you're asked to name a bad video game that you loved anyway, you say Atari 2600 Pac-Man. happy.png

When you go out drinking with fellow fans after a day at Bronycon, you're the only one the bartender doesn't ask for ID.

You get inspired remarks from MLP forum members such as "Y U so old?" "What's it like being 41?" And "You're awesome. You'd make a great forum dad." tongue.png

Not to worry. I take it all in stride and I'm proud of the fact that I've never outgrown cartoons. smile.png

Before the age minimum was implemented I was barely old enough to be some members' dad, if that counts for anything.

Yeah, but most of that I can relate to, though I'm not what anyone would consider "old." And given that I haven't really aged in the past 8 years I wonder if I'll be able to make it to 41 and still be carded. That would be nice.

How could the 2600 PAC Man be considered bad? ohmy.png

The video game magazine writers at the time panned it.  Even by 2600 standards, it was considered disappointing.  Atari redeemed themselves with a far superior Ms. Pac-Man port the following year.

Even so, '80s music, video games, and cartoons must seem like ancient history to someone born in '88.  And the last time I was seriously carded I was in my early 30s.  But everybody says I still look and act younger than I am.  :P

Not really. The backwoods town I grew up in was always years behind the times, and my dad was one of those people who was stuck in the 80s for 10 years following. The 80s were still happening in the boonies until around 1995. :\

I even had a mullet. biggrin.png
