So I'm just sitting there. Doing... stuff... Then for some reason I had a realization: What if Hasbro lies, and EG is canon. They haven't given us much reason to trust them, anyway.

I have no idea why that just came to my mind, but now I'm curled up in the fetal position, rocking as I type this.

What if they are lying to us? What if they will make it canon.

 

(and I just now had the realization that I'm being a hypocrite. Do all those things I said months ago mean nothing!?)

Well, I haven't really seen any evidence to support that they've lied to us before. Given us a lack of information, yes, but flat out lying to us? I've never seen it. They never said "Twilight will NOT become an alicorn" before S3E13 aired, right?

 

Although I would be a bit distressed if it did become cannon, I believe the odds are against it, besides, it's just a cartoon...about colored horses...

What if Hasbro lies, and EG is canon.

Equestria Girls is canon: It takes place during the FIM timeline. But because it's "slated" to not affect the main series, its continuity's different.

Even if Equestria Girls is canon, does it really matter? There's nothing in the movie that establishes anything different or horrifying, nor will dramatically change the status quo.
