  1. Also, please tell me I'm not the only one of us going to Bronycon.

    Don't make me so jealous! :(  :(  :(

*sigh*  I would love to go but it's really bad timing. School starts for me next week and we just got back form vacation, so there's no way my parents would let me go. It seems so great though! Be sure to post pics and tell us all about it

(Now excuse me while I go weep silently in the corner)

EDIT: Oh! And I really think we need to move things along with the RP. It's really starting to slow down. So Budding or Sterling, if one of you guys could mosey on down he aisle with the other that'd be great. Or get abducted by trolls or something ;P

  2. When the orchestra finished the beautiful piece, Kismet was overcome with emotion.

"I'm such a sap," Kismet thought kindly, "It's just so beautiful!"

As the last note ended, Kismet began stomping her hoofs on the ground. Such cherished moments should never go unrecognized. It started with her own hoof-steps, but soon the crowd began to join in as well........... (ahem)

    ;)

  3. Kismet smiled from her back-seat view and watched her best friend transform from a bright young filly to a happily married mare. It was an emotional and happy time for everypony, even Kismet felt a little damp on her cheeks. She sighed a satisfied sigh and watched as the two locked together forever with their holy kiss. It was beautiful, and Kismet's chest swelled with joy at the sight of the newly wedded couple. She wished all the best for them and that they stay just as happy forever and ever.

Kismet reached up and wiped her eye, trying to prep herself for when the bride and groom trot down the aisle for the first time together as husband and wife. She wanted to be there for her friend, to support her and love her every step of the way.

((OOC: Sorry it's been a bit of a delay but I spent the weekend with my family up in the mountains. I'm back though! :3)

  4. This was it. It was happening, and Kismet was missing it. The beautiful music had stopped, and only Princess Luna's Equestrian Voice could be heard echoing from the chapel. It could only mean one thing: the couple are taking their vows.

Galloping as fast as she could without ruining her gown, Kismet raced to the entrance and set her wrapped gift down with the others in the reception hall. She quickly asked a puzzled concierge where her seat was and thanked him after she had gotten the information. Then, with a deep sigh and a gulp, Kismet creaked open the door.

    It was the back door.

Frozen with embarrassment and frustration, Kismet was behind the podium where Sterling and Evening were taking their vows. Luckily she wasn't in the sight of the audience, but she had a clear view of the ceremony. Everypony looked beautiful, especially the bride. Kismet looked over to the groom.

"So that's what the famous 'Sterling Crimson' looks like" Kismet thought with a smile, "Not bad, Evening, not bad."

Then she heard Princess Luna ask Evening whether she would take this stallion as her husband. Before she answered Kismet did a small wave and tried to catch her attention.

"I'm here for you, Evening. I'm so happy for you." she smiled.

  5. Kismet hurried into her hotel room and set the Pando- memory box down on the bed. She carefully put on makeup and combed out her mane so that she looked presentable. Then she shimmied into her elegant ball gown that Rarity had designed for her. Finally, she looked into the mirror to see the finished result.

"Not bad," Kismet thought to herself as she looked into the mirror, "Very... wedding-esque."

She giggled at her joke and wrapped the memory box into a gift bag. After a quick scribble of a note to the happy couple, she placed it into the gift bag and headed back out the door.

"Oh I just hope I'm not too late!" Kismet worried. As she approached the chapel, she heard the wedding bells begin to ring. The ceremony had started.

What do you mean an 'Element of Harmony type thing'? You mean like.. uh, I don't really have any examples

Hahaha that wasn't very clear, sorry.

I just meant something that the main characters use to aid them in defeating evil, as opposed to it being the evil thing itself :derp:

  7. @@Budding Night,

*Le just PMs you cuz there is no number*  ;)

To be honest I tried not to make it as dark as it came out. If you read my post describing Pandora's Box, I figured that it could be used for good just as well for bad.

The box itself is neither good nor bad, it is indifferent to judgement. It's magic is to simply make the secret a reality. You don't have to make it as dark as it seems! Feel free to use it as another "Element of Harmony" type thing if you want to.

  8. @@Sterling Crimson,

Hahahaahaha thank you so much Sterling, but you don't have to worry about it. It's not that big of a deal, it was just an idea that fell flat. I just want to make sure that the RP stays fun for everyone, since the box is Sterling and Evening's gift.

If you do have a good plan to work it in, go for it, but I'm just saying you don't need to bend the existing RP to fit in with what I put

    • Brohoof 1
  9. @@Sterling Crimson,

Nopedy nope nope. I was just bored and thought the idea was interesting. Now that I re-read what I've wrote, I realize that it is pretty dark and taking the RP in an unexpected direction. I kinda didn't mean to take over the whole RP but now I see that's pretty much what I've done by throwing this extra thing in.

So, unless you guys have a really good idea for it, just drop the whole "Pandora's Box" thing and just keep it a normal antique memory box. I really didn't think it would turn out as dark as it did. I apologize, I'm still new to this whole RP thing. I kinda get into the mode when I think my OC is the main character when we are all in this as a team.

Sorry guys! :(  I'll be sure to tone it down a notch  :derp:

  10. Kismet rushed as fast as she could down the busy Manehatten streets for the second time that day. But this time, she was headed back for the hotel. There still was a wedding to prepare for, after all. All the way down Kismet thought about the box.

"Crazy old stallion," Kismet reasoned, "He wouldn't know the difference between a Pandora's Box and a horse shoe. It's just an old pony's tale, nothing more. How would such a thing end up in his old store, anyway? Psh. As rude as he was he probably was just messing with me.... It looks like a memory box, and that's what it is. Evening and her new husband will love it. End of story."

Even with her logic, Kismet still couldn't shake the feeling that what he said was true. Could it be..? No. A Pandora's Box is like a memory box, but instead of memories it holds secrets. It was created long ago, before the reign of the royal sisters, as a magical gift to bestow upon the bride of a family's suitor. It had humble and innocent beginnings, but ponies didn't realize the strength of the magic. The longer the secrets are contained in the box, the stronger they become. Eventually, when opened, the secret is released into the real world. The contents of the secret become tangible, whether it be a good thing or.... not so good.

According to legend, Luna had put her secret of not being loved by the ponies of Equestria into her Pandora's Box. Over time, the secret grew and grew and finally, when Luna opened the box again, her secret had grown too powerful to contain. She became Nightmare Moon. After defeating her sister, Celestia had deemed these boxes too dangerous for Equestria, and used her magic to collect and destroy them.

"And Celestia is the most powerful alicorn in all of Equestria. If she destroyed every one of those Pandora's Boxes, it must be true." Kismet gave an uneasy smile, "I hope Evening likes her memory box."

((OOC: Any questions, comments, or concerns about my idea is highly encouraged! Feel free to discuss the idea in our OOC thread, I'll be happy to update or change anything you guys see fit. To be honest, this is all I have as far as the story goes. Feel free to take it in any direction you want!  ))

  11. (OOC: Who should she ask? I don't have any idea who. Possibly Twilight?)

((OOC: Twilight may be a good choice, but I feel like unless she read a book about relationships she might not understand. Unless you are talking about her and the new guy from EqG, perhaps she could say something about him? (Not that they really had a relationship...) Anyways Rarity would love to gossip about colts but I'm sure it would be a bit too fur-fru for your liking  :P ))

Kismet walked up to the cashier table and set the box gently on the counter. She peeked behind it and there, asleep, was an old stallion with an age comparable to Granny Smith.

"He's been around here for a while," thought Kismet with a smirk. She reached over with a hoof and shook him slightly.

"Hello, sir? I'd like to make a purchase if you don't mind," she said politely. The old stallion woke with a start:

"HOLD THE POTATO CAKES, FRANCIS! THE DOGS ARE ON THE WAY WITH THE PECANS!"

And proceeded to fall back asleep.

Needless to say Kismet was quite taken aback from this little outburst. Once she regained composure, she cautiously reached a hoof out and tapped on the cash register. It opened up quickly with a loud "KA-CHING"

"WHAT? WHOS DA- Where am I?" exclaimed the cashier, almost falling out of his chair. Kismet seized her opportunity:

"I'd like to make a purchase please," Kismet said, pushed the memory box forward, "This will be all, thank you. How many bits?" she asked, reaching for her saddlebag.

"WHAT? You wanna buy that old piece of junk?? Why, that's been sittin' in the back o' my shelves for at least 50 years! Take it! It's yours! What would a young whippersnapper like yourself wanna trouble yourself with that old Pandora's Box, anywho?"

Kismet ears pricked up. "Did you say, 'Pandora's Box?" Kismet asked slowly.

"YOU GOT THOSE YOUNG EARS I KNOW YOU HEARD ME!" The old stallion shouted, "I DON"T NEED TO BE REPEATIN' MAH-SELF TO THE LIKES O' YOU."

Kismet scoffed at this stallion's tone, but held her tongue. "I just... didn't know there were any left is all. I.. thought they had all been taken away long ago. Ummm... Thank you sir, I will just be on my way," She said, grabbing hold of the box and rushing out of the store.

"HEY ARE YOU GONNA PAY FUR THA- snnnooooooooozzzzzzzz........"

  13. Kismet sauntered in and out of the aisles, desperately hoping to find something inspiring to purchase as a gift for the happy couple. As she inspected every promising-looking item, she felt more and more discouraged.

"Great. Showing up late AND not bothering to bring a gift... What a fantastic start to introduce myself..." she thought sarcastically. Eventually she came up to the luxury keepsake aisle where lots of cutsie little fru-fru wedding gifts and baby shower items filled the shelves.

"This may be my only chance to get something halfway decent," Kismet thought, "Might as well give it a try.." She looked at as many items as she could, but to no avail. Nothing.... seemed right.

She came up to the end of the section, feeling a bit hopeless. Yet she looked through the shelves nonetheless.

And there she found it. Tucked neatly in the back of the shelf, covered in a slight layer of dust (as if it had been there a while) was an antique, decorated memory box.

"My grandmother used to tell me stories about her memory box as a filly," Kismet thought as she reached back to pick it up, "Newly weds or ponies who have had a child would receive a memory box, a beautifully decorated and embellished parcel passed down from generation to generation. The box had secret compartments hidden inside and out of it, places to write down your secrets and memories, or to hide a special keepsake. Then, if you ever were to forget a loving memory or a happy incident, you would simply look through your memory box to remind yourself of a happy time."

Kismet gently picked up the memory box, it had to be at least 150 years old, and examined the embellishments inside and outside of the magnificent piece. It truly was beautiful, and who knows what kind of secrets it could hold? This was it. The gift Kismet was looking for - it was perfect. Kismet tucked the antique gently under her wing and trotted carefully over to the cashier counter.

((OOC: Bum-bum-BUUUMMMMMM! What kind of things will come from this simple, elegant memory box, hmm? Tune in to find out!  ;) ))

  14. Sun shone through the window, waking Kismet from her slumber. She sat up and shook out her mane, then hopped out of the bed. She grabbed her saddle bag quickly and rushed out the door.

"I need to get the wedding gift before this afternoon," she thought as she galloped through the city, "Yet I haven't the slightest idea of what they would want..."

She continued down the street, weaving through the crowd. Finally she came up to Manehatten Mall and stepped inside. She wandered through the mall until she came up to a huge store. Not bothering to think, she rushed inside.

  15. @@Budding Night@@Zhooves,

Kismet thanked her friend kindly and waved goodbye to the handsome young colt, now wearing an exquisite tuxedo and bowtie. As she left the boutique and trotted back to the hotel, thoughts flooded her mind.

How would the wedding turn out? Would she look good for the ceremony? What would the other ponies think of her? What would she even talk about to these strangers? Would Evening be happy? Who is this mysterious "Sterling Crimson" character?

She shuttered at her earlier... mishap.. and promised to be more careful with her words. Finally she reached the hotel and rode the elevator up to her room on the 11 floor. Crawling into her bed she tried to relax. The wedding will be fine. Nothing will go wrong, it's a perfect day for Evening and she will undoubtedly be very happy.

The last thought that floated through her mind before she drifted off to sleep was that she failed to get the couple a wedding gift...

Meet up again tomorrow morning before the wedding?" Kismet smiled at her friend as she waited for a reply.

  17. Hmmm... Most intriguing... I had never noticed (or even heard) of this particular pony before. Now that I've seen her design and heard her story, I've rather taken a liking to her!

Kismet was happy that Evening had found such a great dress that she could wear for her wedding. Soon after, Autumn emerged from her dressing room with an equally gorgeous dress that flattered her and looked great. Kismet complimented Autumn and turned back toward Evening. She was gone. Kismet looked around curiously and found that she and North had wandered over to the tuxedo section. Obviously little North had needed a tux for the wedding.

"He would look so cute in a little tuxedo," Kismet thought with a giggle. She trotted over and complimented on the grey suit that Evening had chosen. When she asked whether North preferred the work tie or bow tie, Kismet jumped in excitedly.

"Oh! North, you should wear the bow tie! Honestly it would be so cute! You would look very handsome." Kismet recommended kindly.

"What do you thing, Evening? You want to buy it? It's getting late anyway and you have a big day tomorrow!" Kismet turned towards her friend and asked. She gave an encouraging smile and waited for a response.

"Thanks guys... I really do appreciate your concern, but really I'm fine. It was nothing. Now's not the time for such... dramatic... things. Let's celebrate Evening and Sterling's wedding by finding the perfect wedding gown. After all, it's not an option, it's a necessity!" Kismet said, slowly becoming less and less shaken by the previous events. She had grown used to these dizzy spells, it just didn't help that one of the worst ones she ever had was in a bridal shop in front of her long-lost best friend...

Focusing on the dresses, Kismet looked around and searched through the racks.

"Now what type of dress are you looking for, Evening? Mermaid, ball gown, oh! A cupcake dress? Ruffles are a fashion no-no but lace is so in right now..."
