      I'm not really into games like Awakening. Is it a preference thing or could I get into it by playing it?

      Well, I'd say it's probably the best first Fire Emblem, since the difficulty is very tunable. It has a lot of depth with customization and pairing though, so you could definitely get into it by playing it.

      Shin Megami Tensei 4 is also really good if your into RPGs. Also, Kid Icarus: Uprising.
