  1. Well, I was inspired at work today by the generosity of a customer. I work at a full service gas station and it was fairly cold today. Being on top of a hill, it's also perpetually windy. Saturdays are also the days when I have an 11 hour shift.

I had pumped this lady's gas and was having her sign her credit card receipt when she asked me what time I'd be working 'til. I told her 8, to which she asked what I do for dinner after I get out of work. I told her I usually just stop somewhere quick and grab something cheap. She told me they (she had her son in the car as well) were going to the pizza shop next door and offered to bring some pizza back.

Since I hadn't eaten anything at all today, I graciously accepted and offered money, but she wouldn't take my money. This put me in incredibly high spirits, as this is probably the nicest thing a customer has ever done. I was expecting a few slices from whatever was left of the pizza they were eating. I DIDN'T expect to get a WHOLE FREAKING PIZZA. I feel guilty for not throwing money into her car before she could take off. This is the happiest I remember being at this job, as most of the customers are pretty thankless.

This made me curious on what kind of acts-of-kindness you guys have experienced; whether you were giving or receiving or even just observing.

  2. I've noticed the same thing while using the Chrome extension. When you get a notification with the extension it seems to mark it as read on the site.

I haven't looked into them myself, but I wonder if there is something in the extension settings that allows you to turn this on or off.

  3. 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX. V8 model. Got this car for $1800 with only 97K miles. I've never had an expensive repair. It has been a GREAT car. Just over 200 HP too, so it's decently quick.

As for mods, the only things I have done to it are aftermarket mufflers, new head unit, and new speakers.

(Meh, had to upload to Photobucket. Upload here kept failing...)

  4. Me gusta. I've now got a new wallpaper. Thanks - I didn't expect you to rework it for me, Vex3d! :D

Your welcome! I enjoy doing it so no problems whatsoever.

I really need to do a Fluttershy one, me thinks.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Yes, indeed. Fluttershy it is.

Not too sure how this one came out...

  5. Used it once, and didn't make any sense, Is it just me, or is it the fact that I suck with visual art?

As with anything, you just need practice. There's a definite learning curve to the program and only using it once isn't going to help overcome that.

Online tutorials are a BIG help.

  6. The empty space could have been filled with a very slight gradient - weak enough to not be explicitly noticeable, but strong enough to make the empty space feel a little... less empty.

I really like this wallpaper, but I can only use it on one of my laptops due to the screen resolution. Vex3d, for the future, might I suggest working at a minimum of 1920x1200, for those of us who have high-res monitors? :D

There is a gradient behind the design, although it does look a bit small and dark.

You guys and your high-res monitors. :P I will definitely make them higher quality next time. I made this one to use on my desktop and figured I'd share it. I want a bigger monitor...

    Thanks for the suggestions, though.

Here's for you guys with fancy monitors. :P

It's a bit different than the original. I centered everything and used some slightly different brushes. I also hope the gradient is a bit more apparent.
