      Well, if you drop the "de" here, you have to add a "," and the sentence completly change

      "Tu es le signe, paix" which mean "You are the sign, peace" and it doesn't work :P

       

      It may work for some sentences, I don't know and I've never seen it. (I'm french also)

      But you could cut "sign", which make "Tu es la paix", and I think it sounds better, and would fit with your other sentence.
