  1. @@scooterlou, "Oh, it`s not so much the big city, I can deal with that, but ponies there are always so snooty, especially to... non-ponies. Saw a Zebra there once. Most refused to even acknowledge him, let alone talk to him, even businesses." he said, speaking in disdain of Canterlot. He had a hard enough time there, and knew that Minotaur, and Zebras didn`t have it much better compared to Griffin`s. He`d been called a "filthy hybrid" before, due to being half lion half eagle. He tried not to let it bother him. As the green pegasus left, Vincent set his now empty ice cram bowl aside "Well, he was... odd." before turning his head back to Raspberry. "But yeah, I mean, I`m gonna be bored outta my skull with nothing to do for awhile, I could show you around. I mean, not today i`d think, it`s preety late, but maybe tommarrow, if you`re not too busy here?" he said, trying not to be too forceful or pushy.
  2. @@scooterlou, Vincent smirked good naturedly as the mare spoke of living in the city, nodding in understanding. "Yeah, the city can be preety confuseing at times. I don`t think even i`ve seen all of it!" he said with a smile. "I`ve been all over, personally, even before moving here from the Griffin Empire. I considered settleing in some country town, but I figured I wouldn`t get enough work there... and I don`t think I could ever live in a place like Canterlot." @, After a moment, Vincent got an idea "Well, since you`re still getting use to the place, maybe I can show you around the city sometime. There are-" he blinked as he heard the Stallion from before, the one that had offered to buy his ice cream and then bizzarely began to glare at him, trot on up to them. Vincent glared for a moment, angry at being inturrupted, before calming himself. "We`re kinda talking here... and didn`t she say to check with her aunt?" He said, before glancing at the clock: It was already preety late, he had to imagine the ice cream shop would be closing soon "Besides, little late for your concert or whatever."
  3. @@scooterlou, "Right, Zecora, that was the name." As the mare said ponies treated her different because she was, well, differant, Vincent gave a smirk "Well, i`d be quite the hypocrite if I was leery of her, huh?" He let out a small sigh "But I know what that feels like: Griffin`s are rare in Equestria, ya know? And most ponies aren`t use to us, especially in smaller, no Pegasi towns." as she spoke of his luck, he nodded solemnly "I guess. Still, kinda sucks. My big appeal at work was that Griffin`s can fly super far deliveries with less breaks, so we delivered them faster..." suddenly he caught himself, shaking his head "Heh, whoops. Pity Train, party of one, huh?" he said, giving the mare a light smirk, quick to change the subject. "So, you getting use to this place yet? Must be quite the change from Ponyville."
  4. @@scooterlou, "Yeah, that sounds about right." he said as he continued to finish up his ice cream, just about done with it. At her question he rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, well, ya see..." he glanced back at his wing. "I made a stupid mistake. I was on this delivery, to Canterlot, and i`d been flying all night. I had planned on resting in Ponyville and finishing the delivery the next day, but I decided I could afford to land real quick and get a breather." He looked back towards the pink mare "As it was though, I was flying over the Everfree forest. I was resting for just a few minutes, but... a manticore got he jump on me. Nearly tore it off. I managed to limp through the Everfree until some Zebra found me. She fixed me up enough and let me stay the night at her hut before I walked to Ponyville. I went to a doctor, said that my wing won`t really ever heal fully, so no more long flights for me. Still, says if I stay off it a few weeks, should heal enough for me to fly again."
  5. @@scooterlou, Vincent smiled when the mare gave him that hopeful smile. He had plans to stick around for abit, maybe hang out with the mare, or someone else if she was busy. when the mare, presumably the aformentioned aunt came in, Vincent gave the older mare a smile. "Nice place you have here. The cotton candy flavors fantastic!" he mused as he watch Raspberry move to a booth in the back, moving over and setting the ice cream down and sitting in the seat across from her. "Mind if I sit here?" he said as he slid into the other side of the booth from where the mare was sitting. "Now, where we?" he said, refering to thier earlier conversation.
  6. @@scooterlou, @@Starshine, Vincent realized that with so many ponies coming in now, the mare would probrably be too busy for conversation, atleast for a little while, so he decided not to bother her until things smoothed over. He continued to eat his ice cream quietly, when he suddenly heard the Pegasus mare that had just ordered speak to him, raising a brow at her. "And what exactly is wrong with a Griffin eating ice cream?" he said, sounding a little annoyed that just because he was a Griffin, people had to question why he`d come to an ice cream shop.
  7. @@scooterlou, Vincent smirked as he heard the mare ramble, leaning on the counter and eating his ice cream as she spoke. "Ponyville? I use to go there all the time, believe it or not. Usually was a bunch of rare books from the Griffin Empire being delivered to some Treehouse library." He said, having poor memories of those trips. Even with the strength of a Griffin, those long lights with literal stacks worth of giant tombs of books.... even he was exhausted from those trips! He smirked as she apologized for rambleing. "heh, it`s fine. It was interesting. As you may have guess, I make deliveries. I use to live in the Griffin Kingdom, but I settled down here... oh, 5 years back? I still do deliveries but... well, I injured my wing awhile back, so i`ve been taking some leave. Been wanderering around town all day, and I`m already bored out of my skull." he said with a light smirk. He loved flying too much, and even with everything in the city, he was bored even after the first day all on his own. He didn`t have many friends ethier, and most of them were Pegisi from work who were currently out on deliveries.
  8. @@scooterlou, "Thanks, i`ll be sure to tell you what I think." he said, grabbing the bowl in his talons and moving to allow the stallion that had been behind him to order. Vincent grabbed a spoon with one talon, taking a rather large spoonful of the ice cream and sticking it between his beak. He was instantly delighted by the flavor, smiling contently as it did indeed taste like cotton candy. He smiled over at the pink unicorn "It`s good! Betcha it becomes a best seller sooner or later." he said with a light smirk, enjoying the bowl of ice cream. When the Stallion had ordered, Vincent decided to make conversation with the mare. "So, you live here long?" he asked curiously, wondering if she`d just moved in and was a part timer. Judgeing by the way she`d said 'the owners', that was his assumption. He blinked, realizeing he`d just asked this mare a random question without even introduceing himself. "Name`s Vincent Stormwalker, nice to meet you. Judgeing by how you ponies usually have your names, i`m gonna guess your name is some kind of ice cream?" he joked, having noticed ponies names almost always matched thier talent in some way.
  9. @, "Yeah, you know it!" Vincent said with a confident smirk, getting into a stance for a quick take off. He was fully prepared as the mare skipped one and two, taking off without a pause. He launched himself, using his powerful wings to get a burst of speed right off the bat, starting off with a slight advantage. For a moment, he moved to ram the mare, a comment practice in friendly Griffin races, before he stopped himself, remembering he was racing a rather small mare, and he knew pegasi didn`t race that way generally. He beat his wings, dashing down the street, dodgeing around ponies, lamppost, and other minor obstacles, desperate to stay ahead, smiling coyly as he could already see the statue in sight, getting closer, and closer... almost... almost...
  10. As the stallion behind him announced he would pay, Vincent raised a brow. It was a... strange thing to offer to someone you just sorta met. He smiled though, but shook his head. "Thanks. Really, thanks, but I`d really prefer to pay for my own." Griffin`s didn`t enjoy feeling like they owed someone something, it made them feel dependent, and most wanted to be as independent as possible once they 'left the nest'. He saw the mare come up to the front counter, giving her a brief smile. @@scooterlou, As the mare spoke, he let out a brief chuckle. It seemed ethier she was always enthusastic about ice cream, or she`d been bored out of her skull before. "Heh, suppose so. Is a hot day. I`ll have... a bowl of Cotton Candy flavor. I`ll be eating it here, if that`s alright." He had some time to kill, and if the mare was truly so bored as he expected, maybe he could chat her up while he was there.
  11. @, Vincent heard the bell ring signifying someone else entering the ice cream place. He wasn`t sure what to get. He supposed mint wouldn`t be a bad idea... although something else might be interesting... hadn`t tried sherbert yet... He blinked as he heard the voice behind him, smirking. "Most ponies havn`t. Bet you weren`t expecting to run into one at an icea cream place." he joked with a light chuckle.
  12. @, Vincent sighed. It was preety clear to him that he and the mare called Fire Sharp probrably wouldn`t be getting along very well. He noticed the frightened mare being added to the meeting, narrowing his eyes. What the hell! Whatever this job was, a pony that was clearly suffering from some sort of psychosis certaintly would be a hinderance, and even more importantly, it could end with the mare getting hurt... Vincent`s eyes scanned around the room whilist the folders were passed out, wondering where the pony he`d heard early was. He`d heard it scurry off once he let go, and still wondered whether they were friend or foe. His thought was inturrupted as the folder was placed before him, oppening it with a talon and looking it over. The mare of time... the title was a familar one. He`d read all about her, both through military reports (mostly as huge speculation) and tabloids. No one could confirm if she exist, but... hell, with all the crazy things in the world, who knew what could and couldn`t? Something that caught his eyes more than the title, was the location mentioned. Foal mountain... he`d flown around that area several times in his life, in fact, he`d passed over it during his flight to this very meeting, but he`d never noticed anything there... still... he did always unconciously keep his distance from it.. "so...." he said, placing the folder down, listening to the others speaking. The mare that had helped him before was related to some sort of.. chaos mage? Interesting... "Are we suppose to bring you her head on a silver platter? I mean..." he gestured to the folder "These crimes undoubtably are worthy of a death sentence in the Griffin Kingdoms. Or will you ponies use your 'power of friendship and love' to convert her?" he said the last part sarcastically, but in truth, inside he was all bussiness, already wondering: How do you take down someone who can change history?
  13. @, "Sweet!" Vincent said excitedly, thinking a moment. "One sec." He said, dashing up straight into the air and looking around at various structures around town. He smirked as he found something just over a mile away, landing back on the ground beside the mare. "alright, there`s this park about a mile away. In the middle of the park, there`s this statue of General Hoofinhower. First one there wins. Deal?" he said, getting into a good launch position. "On 3?" he said, adreneline pumping in anticipation.
  14. @@scooterlou, Vincent walked through the streets, trying to think of something to do, something outside of his usual routine. Got to the library? Nah. Go get drunk on the only pony drink he found acceptable (a whiskey called Wild Pegasus, although another brand called the Bucking Bronco had a kick) Maybe later. It was way too early to go get drunk, what kind of wierdo would be hitting the bars already? It was quite awhile before he spotted something that caught his eyes: a rather colorful ice cream shop. Ice cream wasn`t something the Griffin Kingdoms had in abundance, but he`d had it before and he`d loved it. He though a moment, and even though he probrably shouldn`t have, he walked on in, smiling contently as the door chimed to announce a customer.
  15. @, "Oh, you`re so on!" he said, quickly getting up, having paid for the Coffee, and heading outside, stretching himself. "Alright, what kinda race we going for? Short, Long? Few miles, down the street? What, what!?" he said, clearly raring to go. Even though he enjoyed history, and could be seen as a geeky Griffion, he couldn`t help but get excited by the idea of a race, especially against a species he`d never gone up against before.
  16. Vincent blinked as he was... rather abruptly left. He sighed, having hoped to make plans to meet up with the mare later: she seemed rather interesting. He looked at the Stallion he`d been helping. "Hey, i`m sure they`ll get you taken care of... please, be careful. I`m gonna head up. Good luck." he said, turning to leave. He wasn`t quite sure what to do now... he supposed his original plan of heading to the library was still open... but between meeting a thief mare, and another mare that was rehabilitating from some sort of mental condition, doing something like that felt so... bland. So, he took to the streets, looking for some sort of activity to be done.
  17. @, "Y-yessir!" Walker said, trying to take a moment to salute at the order before being given another, checking his equipment. He cursed as he realized he`d lost a few of his spare mags when he`d jumped into the water. He heard the order and nodded, taking position as he covered the Stallion moving up, along with those with him, taking pot-shots at the bunkers at the sea-wall. He doubted he`d hit a target, but he didn`t need to: he just needed to keep thier heads down. Next, he was moving up, rushing up the beach desperately on his hooves, trying hard not to slip, or trip on his own hooves. He saw the SGT reach cover, but get hit in the process. "Buck!" he cried. With the SGT down, the number that would be covering him would be much less. He looked at the mare that had been assiting him covering him with her M1 Grande (Silver Letter) "Come on!" he cried, making a run for it, bullets flying all around him, one grazing his leg, and although it stung and burned, he ignored it and made it to the next piece of cover... seeing the slumped body of a medic over the SGT "Shit! hang on..." he said, moving the medic off of the Stallion. "Hold on... hold on..." he said, applying pressure to the wound, calling out for a medic, but if there were any nearby, they couldn`t hear him over the gun fire. A corporal near them came over, and took a breath. Hang on... get some gauze from the medic... this is gonna be bloody... The corporal unicorn took a breath to steady himself, and used his telekinsis... on the bullet lodged in the sergeant`s side, ripping it out. Walker quickly grabbed the gauze from the fallen medic, attempting to use it to stop the bleeding. "do... do you want something for the pain?" he asked, unsure if the SGT would want to keep a clear head.
  18. Walker was in the second wave landing crafts, taking a few deep breaths. He was almost compulsively checking his weapon, wanting it to look perfect, make sure everything was working. He held his M1 carbine in shaking hooves as he took deep breaths. Using a weapon like this was... awkward for an earth pony. Some prefered to use thier tounges to pull the trigger, holding it in thier mouths. Walker was more than a little jealous of unicorns, whom could use thier horns an magic to pull the trigger. Walker tapped his helmet with a hoof, making sure it wasn`t too loose. You can do this. You trained. You`re ready. He tried to convince himself it was true... he wasn`t certain. Even from here, he could hear the gunhots going on the beach... screams of those who were hit, cries of ponies as they bled... he shuddered, trying to block it out. 30 seconds! Get ready! he heard his CO calling out, just barely above the rocking water and the gunshots. Already, bullets were flying at the landing craft... when those doors oppened... he could see them begining to open, saw the fire already upon it... an made a snap decision: He threw himself over the side of the boat, landing in the water... a good decision... a majority of those that had been in the landing craft were cut to ribbions in moments. He swam towards the beach, soaked, and heard bullets flying in all directions cover was the only thing that rang through his mind as he began running up the beach, throwing himself behind a german hedgehog. A SGT. good, someone to listen to. "Sir! The fuck are we gonna do!?" he cried desperately. Bullets were flying in all directions, slamming into thier cover... if there was a moment to feel pinned, it was now. @, @,
  19. @, "True, True. Suppose I could simply find a book or scroll about it... i`m sure atleast one Zebra has publshed something of the basics." He mumbled to himself. Knowing how to make medicine, or use the herbs during a trip... if his wing ever healed long enough for distant travel, that would be incredibly useful. Still, this was all food for thought later on. He needed to make sure the colt would be fine. He noticed that most of the 'terminally injured' patients that had been in before them had been taken away already. "shouldn`t be much longer..." he mumbled. @, As if on cue, the mare at the desk beckoned for them, and Vincent stood and helped the injured colt onto his feet. "Here, i`ll help you walk." he said, leading him towards the desk. He spoke to the mare for a moment, who informed him they needed a name for the patient before they could accept him. "erm... well..." he glaned at the acid green stallion "Here`s hoping you didn`t hurt yourself too much not to remember your own name..."
  20. @, He smirked as the mare bragged, drinking the Coffee that he been delivered. As she started bragging, Vincent let out a chuckle. "Oh, really?" he said, smirking, setting the cup of coffee down and leaning forward. "well, maybe you can beat any pony... but you`ve never raced a Griffin, have you?" he said with an excited glint in his eye. "I`ve got my energy up, and trust me: Griffin`s are fast, and we`ve got alot of stamina..." he said, already getting excited as he could feel a prospective race coming.
  21. @, Vincent blinked as he was grabbed, surprised to find himself being pulled by the tiny mare. Vincent was rather proud of his own stamina, but.. the Mare had him nearly run ragged with how quickly they moved from place to place, and by the end even he was breathing heavily. Still, it was all and all a good tour, and dispite some... nasty looks from a few of his fellow students, he had a good time. As they arrived at the cafe, he ordered a coffee, black, and leaned back in a chair obviously not designed with Griffin`s in mind. "Just one: How in the hell do you have so much energy?" he said with a light hearted smirk.
  22. @, Vincent was unpacking from his suitcase, a little, atleast. He didn`t want to unpack everything just to repack it when he got moved again, when he heard the mare, Storm, speaking."Psychology, huh?" not what he would have guessed, to be sure. He supposed the mare was looking to help people... respectable. At her question, he paused a moment, thinking. He`d gotten a birds-eye view earlier, but... a proper walk around would be nice. "Yeah, sure, why not?" he asked, standing up and walking over to her. "Lead the way." he said with a light smile towards the Pegasus.
  23. @ "well, that`s a shame." Vincent said with a smirk. "Maybe I can give you roaring lessons." he joked, letting out a light chuckle at the idea. Still, perhaps he could hang out with this mare sometime, outside of the dorm, even after he`d gotten a new roommate. She seemed... alright. Better than most ponies anyway. @, "Heh, don`t feel sorry for me. It`s... something you get use to." he said, stifleing a laugh. At her question about ponies, he shook his head. "Well, i`ve met a few in the Griffin Kingdoms, and my mom took me down to Manehatten once. I was really young: barely older than a hatchling, so I don`t remember much." after a moment, he looked at the two mares. "sooo... what are you two majoring in?" he asked curiously.
  24. @, @, "Jeez, that`s cool! When I was twelve, I was too busy reading up on..." he paused, considering lieing but figured 'buck it' "on a bunch of history. Maybe you could teach me the basics? Might be useful to know, if I ever start making long trips again." He then turned his attention to the colt that was waking up. "Yeah, you are in the city. Jeez, you must be worse off than I thought. At his question, Vincent pointed at Glacier with a talon "that mare right there." he explained simply. "She helped me get you here, and used that herb to wake you up. But, yeah, you really should keep still. Glacier thinks you have a concussion. You`ve been blacking out, throwing up... (i`m sorry for the wait.)
