  1. I'll be honest here:

Their parents are way overprotective to their daughters. Ever since the soccer mom made degoratory comments over Derpy Hooves, many of the other fans, not just bronies, were very appalled by the actions caused by her. And yet Ed (from Ed, Edd and Eddy) and Billy (from Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) weren't degraded because they had similar traits as Derpy Hooves would? Wow.. just.. wow.

Back on topic, their parents making them not watch MLP is like telling adults to not be in relationships to their loved ones. I had a friend, who is a little girl herself, LOVES MLP ever since I gave the two Applejack toys from McDonald's for her and her older sister, and her parents appreciated it for my generosity. Other parents that would try and prevent their daughters from watching MLP proves that they're just basically being bad parents and are jealous over many artwork from us bronies. If they don't like MLP, fine, but they shouldn't force little girls into not watch them and have them play with Barbie dolls (no offense for those of you who love Barbie). It's their choice what to watch and not to watch (as long as it's not for over 18+), be it children or adults, even the elderly.

If anything though Ed was literally retarded Derpy just seemed a little slow or quirky to me. I mean if someone wants to try to say

Derpy is offensive but Ed is A-ok then please explain to me why this is true. EEE was one of my favorite shows growing up but rewatching it was just wow Ed was the embodiment of retarded. Then again when EEE was running i don't remember many people complaining about the internet like we have now.

TL;DR Ed is literally retarded while Derpy just seemed a little slow or quirky.

  2. If I can make a bold statement, I think season 5 and 6 of Friendship is Magic are anything but a myth. I would be extremely shocked if the show ended anytime soon. MLP: FiM is not just another run-of-the-mill cartoon that runs for 2-3 seasons and then fades into obscurity. MLP has done exceptionally well in every way, from TV show ratings to merchandise sales. Nothing spells success better than a franchise that can expand on its media content, and MLP has done just that. The series now has its own comic book series, and numerous different books have been printed with a lot more coming in the near future. The show has made its debut in Japan, where it will enjoy its own manga series too. MLP has also navigated its way into trading card territory, and a full-fledged trading card game is just beyond the horizon. It has even hit the big screen in the form of Equestria Girls, where it has done extremely well for a film that saw a very limited release, and that has opened up new marketing possibilities as well. The merchandise never stops coming. Toys, plushies, clothes, accessories, school supplies, DVDs, Equestria Girls products, happy meal toys, board games, and even a mobile game have all been released. Heck, we've even got MLP jewelry on the way. At this rate, we'll be giving Disney Princess and Hello Kitty a run for their money. :D

If Hasbro can continue to make a profit off of the series, then we will continue to see more from it. The future lies within our hands in a way - that is we have to support it in any way that we can if we want the series to last as long as possible, and that means watching the show and buying the products, which most Bronies and the target audience do to some extent. This is why the brand has been so successful.

Look at all that FiM has accomplished in its three years. It is the top rated television show on The Hub, and it's selling merchandise consistently well. Bronies are becoming more and more well-known, as we've been covered on everything from CNN to Fox News, to Time Magazine, PC Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and everything in between. Much of this exposure is likely to help the fandom grow even more. How many shows have their own fan convention? I think a lot of us underestimate the success and widespread popularity of the show. I'm not suggesting that the show will last forever, but with it going as strongly as it is, and considering how Hasbro is profiting so well from it, it would be pointless to pull the plug on it anytime soon. All the things that I mentioned should be indicative of a brand that is flourishing, not declining. I think it's far too early to panic about whether or not MLP is on its death bed. Let's just enjoy it while we have it and keep a positive outlook on its future.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a cash cow, and Hasbro would be wise to treat it as such - by milking it to the very last drop. ;)

Got to agree with this one, some people don't seem to look at how many items are connected to MLP. I mean people need to took at this from a business standpoint and not from a CORPORATIONS ARE EVIL AND WILL TAKE THE SHOW OFF THE AIR TO MAKE US MAD standpoint. Hasbro isn't going to start G5 or G4.5 when G4 is in full swing and has been almost 10X as popular as all the generations put together. I mean the animating, music, character development, story, and voice acting are all superb and the shit that bronies are producing is just amazing (music, fan art, short stories, and even their own fan animated series like Friendship is Witchcraft). This show is just so popular at this point that in my honest opinion could be kept going until season 9 or 10 if the quality stays consistent then everything else will speak for itself. I mean if Hasbro is able to take G4 character that made me cringe when i saw the G3 theme song out of curiosity today like Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo being prime examples and reboot them into my 2 favorite characters then who knows where they can take this series. My guess is it won't end for a while.

  3. May that never happen! Princess Twilight Sparkle now and forever! It be silly to go back but I look forward to more Luna. Second favorite princess!

I don't have anything against Alicorn Twilight but i'm spit balling ideas here. The whole Alicorn thing could be good or bad, just depends on the writers which are usually excellent.

  4. It never was the mane 6 in each generation.

G1's primary cast was actually three humans, Megan, Danny, and Molly, with a large number of ponies rotating through. The only ones consistent with G4 were Applejack and Spike.

G1.5's primary cast was seven ponies: Starlight, Sweetheart, Melody, Bright Eyes, Patch, Clover and Bon Bon.

G2 didn't have an animated show.

G3 started with a large rotating cast again, and narrowed down to seven, called the 'Core 7': Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Cheerilee, Scootaloo, Sweetie Bell, Starsong, and Toola-Roola.

G3.5 has the same cast as the core 7.

If this trend continues, then there will likely be a short G4.5, giving Hasbro time to retool for G5. G4.5 *might* be grown-up CMC, why not. But G5 will likely be another 'modern day' version of the ponies rather than a semi-historical fantasy.

Oh god i searched G3 to see what scootaloo, rainbow dash, pinkie pie, cheerilee, and sweetie bell looked like and i am simply horrified. I mean RD just made me cringe. I guess thats why everyone says the previous generations were just simply horrible lol.

  5. I'm not exactly what you would call a supporter of Alicorn Twilight but i'm not going to get up and leave, i mean like someone pointed out earlier its been basically confirmed that we only saw part one there could be so many outcomes including her sacrificing her princess/alicorn status to save the world again. I honestly don't care as Hasbro/FiM writers have always made even the craziest ideas awesome (too many pinkie pies being the biggest example for me) so i mean even if they let her keep them it should work out in the end. If i remember correctly someone was talking about season 4 at some convention for MLP and said they thought that Alicorn Twilight was pulled off ok, so all we can really do it wait and see.

  6. Hasbro, has not denied or implied that the events of equestria girls will be implemented into season 4, they however said that it is unlikely that they will have any true relevance to the show, but lets just see what can be accomplished

Hasbro has said flash sentry will not be in season 4, look at his mlp wiki page. They've said EQ is not canon to the actual show in any way.

  7. Considering their universe is entirely separate from ours and their society is completely different than ours with flying and magic, I really don't think you can specify a year for their universe and ours. You also have consider the fact that they are going to have different technological strides than we will because they have flying and magic while we don't. For example they have no need to know more about the Higgs Boson because they have to learn more about magic and how they all evolved or came to be 3 different races. They are more interested in their history and how they came to be while we are more interested in scientific and technological strides such as learning how exactly the Higgs works and whether is truly is the smallest particle in the universe or whether quantum foam does fabricate the universe or not. We want to know completely different things than what they want to. We want to push humanity's boundaries and explore, they just want to know about magic or certain powers that exist deep in their universe. So you are trying to compare to completely different societies when they could very well be in the late 3000's or early 1000's. We have no way of knowing.

  8. I keep coming back to the title of this thread, and had to finally stop and make a post. First off, I think you might mean Twilight's first royal subject, or maybe student. There doesn't seem to be a peasant class in Equestria, even though they have royalty. They do have tradesponies and farmers (Like Applejack) who make a good profit off of their work They don't just give it all over to the royals. I have seen nothing yet that compares to the idea of a peasant toiling away at pretty much the level of a slave, handing over the fruits of their labor, and keeping hardly enough to stay alive.

Aside from that. I think Twilight could handle an unruly student. She is well versed in the magic of friendship after all. If nothing else, I would suspect a young colt would end up having a SERIOUS crush on her, and would work hard just to impress her.

This so much, Equestria does not have a feudal system. Princess Celestia does not grant fiefs to say the mayor because there are no vassals. They have royalty and nobility but there is no serf class or lords who need to be paid to live on the land. People always seem to connect societies with kings or queens with federalism even though usually they aren't. In Equestria they have the best of both worlds, they have one main ruler and her companions like cadence and Luna (you could honestly probably put Luna equal to her because she raises the moon but since Celestia was able to banish her i put her below that of Celestia which in a feudal society she would be an upper lord) and you have the freedom of a republic or a democracy. Now i will say bowing down to someone does irk me a little bit but it is a show and in their universe thats how it is so no harm done. Point is Feudalism with peasants and serfs is completely different than having one person rule everything but having the freedom to do what you please.

  9. I don't really think this will be permanent. Obviously like many have said this was intended to be a possible series finale as no one really knew how the show would go on after the 2 and a half seasons it was originally signed for ended. Obviously it got a lot more attention and popularity than it was ever thought to have made but now the questions is how will they play it out? I really hope they keep it on the down low and don't overemphasize the fact that she is now a alicorn princess. I mean i'm not a big fan of alicorn twilight but i also don't hate the writers or anyone else for it. I'm hoping they make it amazing if they go on with it like they usually do or they end it with her sacrificing herself to save her friends (which would be a good moral). Honestly I can see this show going on until season 8 or 9 if the writers play their cards right and keep the story going. What would be ideal for me would be something with discord becoming angry with celestia for keeping his magic usage down and for good and after a while and bringing back starswirl the bearded and after hearing about twilight completed his masterpiece and becoming a princess for it becomes angry and uses his magic to wreak havoc on ponyville or canterlot. Twilight must save everyone once again and in the end does a selfless action  which makes her a regular unicorn again but does something that sends starswirl the bearded back to where he came from. I'm thinking the mane 6 harness the elements of harmony but in order to do so she must give up her alicornship in order to harness her element. (because remember when celestia sent luna to the moon she could no longer harness the elements.) I don't know it probably sounds really stupid and far fetched but thats my two cents.
