"Why not join best flyer competitions or stay at your school and go to the Cloudsdale practices after school? Your friends may not have cared about flying but they are still your friends and you shouldn't have left them like that. The amount of time you were in Cloudsdale is still irrelevant considering you should have at least noticed my unique mane when i git you before you blackout out. If Dashie visited you as many times as you said she did i'm pretty sure she would've mentioned who hit you midair considering it soiled any chance of a career at Cloudsdale.

"You said i looked familiar, also how many rainbow ponies are in Equestria? I can only think of 3: Me, Dashie, and her dad. you knew it wasn't Dashie so you could've used some common sense. Yes there are priorities but theres also college and flying competitions like the best flyer competition, theres no need to switch schools over your dream when theres plenty of other ways to achieve it."

This by far the best one you've ever drawn! I mean the detail in the horn makes it so realistic, if you ask me you should totally use these for the actual show!

"Humor me for a second Nova, why did you leave your friends for Cloudsdale? Didn't you have just one speck of loyalty to your old town and school? It seems to me you just upped and left because you got a better offer from a different school...pathetic. I didn't choose to go here and i'd much rather be up there in Cloudsdale High and have Dashie as my Co-Captain rather than be here, but i didn't have a choice. You did Nova, and you seemed to have just left your little school for something better. You really have no loyalty do you, if you ask me...you deserve the way your friends treated you. You turned your back on them and they turned their backs on you. Like i said i can poke my nose wherever i want in this school, it was so pathetic before i got here and now its #1 in Equestria. Do you really want to try and tell me where i can and can't poke my nose into when its blatantly obvious what happened. You CHOSE to go to Cloudsdale, you CHOSE to abandon your friends and you CHOSE to come here. I mean how the hoof did you manage to get here without knowing i went here, i'm the talk every flying season. I'm the "future wonderbolt captain" as everyone keeps calling me and you can clearly see my name if you even bothered to look at the huge trophy case as you first walked in! If you are really that unobservant then thats your own fault."

At this point Rainbow Boom is sneering through his nostrils and looking at Nova with a dead stare

"Yeah, Dashie always did believe in the little guys, i remember one time  we were hanging out and she saw a little purplish filly trying to fly when we were up in Ponyville for a tournament the week before we crashed. She actually went and helped the filly by lifting her up and making her feel like she was flying, made that fillies day no question. I, on the other hand aren't anything like her despite our appearances Nova. I'm afraid i don't feel bad for what happened either, i have one...i repeat ONE soft spot for someone in this world and thats only because shes like a sister to me: Dashie. Other than that, i have no friends or family. I mean if you want to feel better or something head over to Ponyville High and look for a pink pony dancing and singing around there, never did get her name but shes hilarious and Dashie loved her. I think shes a senior as well. Either way bro, i'll be glad to try to help you get in the air again but other than that theres not much I can do for you. Whatever happened back there in Cloudsdale happened for a reason and it all worked out for me. I mean me and Dashie are friends again and we both got to be captains of our teams. Like Dashie said, never give up, adapt and overcome. Also why'd you transfer here, i mean i know you said for a drama free year but why not stay in your quiet quaint little town or wherever you were from.

"No, we just skipped this period and went and got milkshakes and talked to an old friend..."

Rainbow Boom begins walking towards the principals office

"So were were talking to Rainbow Dash, i assume you don't know her. Well shes the flying team captain at Cloudsdale High and we talked about a little incident that happened 3 years ago out Freshman year when I was still on the Cloudsdale flying team and right before i moved to Canterlot Public."

Rainbow Boom starts to look nervous

"Everyone got mad when i tried a very hard trick and ended up crashing into somepony just walking through the everfree forest and i just wanted to make sure it wasn't you. I know it probably wasn't i mean what are the chances right? But Dashie also told me it ended his flying career and i know your not a good flyer, so i just wanted to be sure it was not you."

"Sounds like a plan, let me go in...the teacher will listen to me more than you."

Rainbow Boom walks into the class

"Nova is needed in the principals office."

As he finished his sentence the teachers tells Nova to head over there and that he will be told what he missed tomorrow

"Oh, i think i know where that is, come on!"

They arrived at the math class where all the seniors usually attend and lean through the door to try and get him to come out and talk to them

"Hey there he is Dusty! psst nova...nova? Dusty you get his attention, i don't think he wants to talk to me."

Rainbow Boom descends into the schools main entrance

"Well then...lets go find him and ask Dusty. Do you know what class he has right now? Also don't worry about the teachers getting all mad about us coming back in the middle of 2nd period, like i said... I know people and they respect me as long as i keep this school #1. "

As they flew back the school Rainbow Boom turned to Dusty 

"Whats with you Dusty? You seem really out of it lately, and I've only known you a day. Do you know anything about Nova's past? I can't help but feel as if it was him who I hit but i'm not sure whether i should ask him or not. Do you know anything?"

Rainbow Boom goes up to the door and knocks

"Rainbow Dash! You up there?"

"Rainbow Boom?"

"Dashie, i'm here to hear your side of the story"

Rainbow Dash runs down the stairs and invites the two colts in

"Boomie, you have no idea how long I've been waiting to tell you this. Well you know after you hit that colt? Turns out it was a flyer from a small school out in the Everfree Forest. You were flying so fast it gave him brain damage and ended his flying career."

"Oh god..."
 

"Anyways i was trying to tell the team it wasn't your fault but they wouldn't listen to me. I tried to tell you i fought for you but you were so angry you just left. Then you tried that double sonic rainboom..."

"So wait, you didn't to get me kicked off the team and you didn't get everyone riled up at me either?"

"What?! Of course not...your like family to me, i could never screw you like that. Is that what you though happened all these years?"

"Yeah it is, oh my god i'm relieved this can be put behind us."

Rainbow Boom and Rainbow Dash join in a hug

"So whos this friend of yours? Is he a new flying team member?"

"Yeah he just joined today, his friend seems a little weird though. Says hes from someplace near the Everfree forest even though and hes even more arrogant than me."

"A pegasus pony more arrogant than you? Never thought i'd hear that one. Whats his name?"

"Apparently Nova, he can't even fly correctly...whats up with that?"

"Wait Nova... Boomie, thats the name of the guy you hit. You singlehandedly ended his flying career. Do you think its the same guy?"

"Nah i don't think so, i can ask him though."

"Well thats as much as you can do right now so go for it. So are you going to come back to Cloudsdale now?"

"You know i can't do that Dashie..."

"So what, your just going to beat me again in 2 weeks like always?"

"No i'm not going to do that either. We graduate this year and I've had an awesome run of two years, Dusty seems good enough i might just quit..."

"Ok now you are not quitting Boomie! I'd rather lose to Canterlot Private."

"Then i guess you better train Dashie. Anyways i'll talk to you later, i have to deal with some things right now."

"Alright Boomie, i'll see you later..."

Rainbow Boom and Dusty walk outside and start flying back towards the school

"Like i said Dusty, your family is always your family." 

"I don't know dude, but i feel as if i just need to hear her side. I don't know why i all of the sudden want to but i feel as if i just need to. Its kind of hard to explain."

Rainbow Boom looked at Dusty as they arrived at her house

"No we never did anything, she was just my best friend. No way i could ever think of dating her, she was like family to me...and no matter how much you hate it, your families always your family Dusty."

"Of course she will Dusty, shes been trying to tell me her side of the story for 3 years now and i think its time to hear it. Plus i have never made Dashie cry before and after doing so i feel like crying myself. Also the way she called me Boomie...she hasn't called me that in years and it really hit me in the feels. I can't explain it... I just have to see what actually happened that day. I can't help but feel its a lot different than i thought..." 

"That was Rainbow Dash... i'm going to assume you want me to go into more detail so here it goes. When i was a little colt i loved to fly, but i never cared so much about impressing people. I was bullied for having a rainbow mane and i thought i was alone. Then when i hit middle school i met Rainbow Dash and we instantly became best friends, i mean 2 rainbow colored ponies who love to fly? ha, no way weren't becoming best friends."

Rainbows eyes water a little more but he keeps going

"Then one day during flying practice at Cloudsdale High, we went to Canterlot Public to compete. This was 3 years ago Dusty, and i was about to perform my sonic rainboom when i saw a chance to really impress the judges so i darted into the everfree forest ready to make everyone gasp in awe at the move i was about to do when i hit a pony who was walking through the forest! I mean who in the right mind walks through the Everfree Forest?? Anyways he seemed hurt so i went back and told everyone. Lets just say there was no winner, i saw Rainbow Dash talking to the team and coincidentally they kicked me off as she finished...and that pony trys to tell me to listen to the real story. HA, i already know the real story and its so obvious! So i decided to try and win my team back by trying a double sonic rainboom over cloudsdale. Well let me say...it didn't work as i intended. I hit the sonic boom to late and it nearly destroyed the school. I left Cloudsdale after that and went to Canterlot Public, every year i have to face her again and i always beat her. Can't say its not fulfilling though, but seeing that mane again..."

Rainbow Boom's voice cracks and he seems upset

"Come on Dusty... we need to go find her. Its time i hear her side of the story."

Rainbow laughs

"No i mean just me and you, i have no need for that lazy idiot Nova you call a friend. I could care less whos your friend, but i have no need for someone like that. I can already tell you the kind of person he is Dusty. No one knows exactly where he came from i mean just saying a direction from the everfree forest is nothing, hes a pegasus who can barely fly, he assumes hes smarter than everybody and seems more arrogant than me; i mean at least i can back up my gloating with what you just saw. If i didn't know any better i'd say your little friend is from Canterlot Private... Well lets go get that milkshake."

They walk in and have a seat

"I'll have the usual, vanilla please. What will you have Dusty?"

Rainbow Boom smirks

"Alright Dusty, thats what i like to hear! I think were just going to get along just fine Just remember to be at practice at 5 after school. Come on, lets go get a milkshake and get to know each other a little better without your friend Nova here."

"I told you i'm not like the Canterlot Private or Cloudsdale flying team captains, i don't talk myself up unless I've earned the right to. As you can see i have earned the right to do so." 

Rainbow Boom looks at the anemometer.

"8.5 wingpower, not bad. My personal record is 18.7 but i'm sure you'll improve it. going by these stats you won't be starting as of now but our first competition at Cloudsdale is not for another 2 weeks so you might improve by then. Also one thing you should now, I hate Cloudsdale more than anything in the world. I swear to god if i put you in and you hoof it up i will not only take you off the team, i will destroy your reputation and make sure you never have another friend at this school again. So i'm warning you joining the team is not for the weak or unsure. You have one chance to leave without consequence right now, so i'm asking you are you in or out?"

Rainbow Boom locks a dead stare with dusty and does not smirk or smile.
